"So, Yan Yan, what is your plan for today?"
Shao Yan had just finished eating her bowl of minced pork porridge and was wiping her mouth with a folded napkins; when Mandy threw the question to her.
"I have to do a site visit for the end of year party," she started to explain, "I am going to see if the place is going to be big enough for everyone."
Mandy's face brightened up right away and she quickly said, "Oh! That sounds fun! I have always loved a good party." She paused, and then looked a little dejected, she said, "I was actually planning to go shopping with you. You know, I want to bond with my sister in law," and then she winked at Shao Yan.
Shao Yan had just picked up her glass to sip the orange juice. But seeing her winked at her, Shao Yan returned her smile.
Her fingers wrapped around the glass, as she thought for a while, "Hm.. I can meet you after the site visit. What do you think?" she replied.
Mandy, who was feeling dejected, suddenly perked up at the ideas, "Sounds good!" She clapped both hands, "Just let me know where to meet you, and I'll drive there myself, you don't have to come back and pick me up."
Shao Yan nodded and her lips curved into a smile, "Sounds good "

She glanced at her wrist and got up from her seat.
"I'm sorry, everyone, but I have to go now," Shao Yan stood facing the rest of the people on the table. Her face was showing a slight guilt for having to leave when they were still eating.
Mandy quickly chimed in as she waved her hand, "Go! Go now, I'll stay behind to help Xiqing clean the table, don't worry," and then she also turned to Li Xiqing. Mandy waved her hand at him as well while saying, "Both of you can also go to the office. Just let me do the clean up here. I'll lock the door when I'm done."
Axel glanced at his wife, and then at Li Xiqing, "Well, unfortunately we have a meeting with the lawyer. We do have to go now."
He turned back to look at Mandy. Axel gently placed his palm on top of hers, "Are you going to be alright by yourself?"
Mandy covered her hand on top of his, "I used to live here. I know where the stuff are, don't worry," she said as she patted him back.
Mandy tilted her head to the back to catch Shao Yan who was wearing her boots, "Yan Yan, it's cold out there, don't forget your coat," she quickly told her.
"I got it!" Shao Yan had to raise her own voice a little to make sure Mandy heard them, "I'll see you later!"
And then she opened the door and walked out of the apartment with her dark brown coat in hand.

Mandy stood up as both men had also started to get up from their seats.
Li Xiqing walked back to the bedroom, "Let me get my coat, I'll see you outside."
Axel and Mandy looked at each other and then started to walk to the foyer."
His joking manner was gone and replaced with a very concerned face of a doting husband.
He placed his broad palm behind her back, Axel then slowly said, "Don't get too tired. You just recovered from a fever." His voice was serious and a little stern and then with another hand, he placed the back of his hand to her forehead to feel the temperature.
"Hmm," he thought for a while, and then Axel placed his hand around her neck gently, "no more fever, but don't force yourself, alright? Remember to watch what you eat and drink when you are going shopping with Shao Yan later."
After he finished his words, he leaned in closer a d planted a soft kiss on Mandy's forehead.
"En. Don't worry, I'm not a child, " she pouted as she sulked at him.
"I am just planning to wash the dishes and then I'll take a nap for a while," but she still said that softly as she closed her eyelids to receive his kisses on her eyes.

"Are you ready?"
From behind them, Li Xiqing walked out and strode to the front door. In his hands, he was carrying a black long coat.
Mandy swept an admiring look at her brother. Today, Li Xiqing opted on traditional black suit with white shirt.
Mandy nodded slowly, as she thought to herself, 'No wonder women are finding it hard to forget about Qing Qing. My brother is so suave!' and then she giggled happily.
Axel peeked at her and with his index finger, he poked on her cheek, "What are you thinking, muffin?"
Mandy burst into laughter again, "I just can't wait to tell Yan Yan the stories of Xiqing's childhood, is all!"
Li Xiqing was sitting on the stool at the foyer while putting on his shoes.
He looked up with his shoes were still in his hand, wanted to say something. He tilted his head, and glared at his sister. And then he slowly stood up and flicked a finger on her forehead.
Her hand reflexively raised up to rub the spot that he had flicked just now, Mandy said, "O-Ow! Li Xiqing, do you want to die?!"
But after remembering his childish attitude, Mandy suddenly burst into hearty laughs, " Xiqing ah Xiqing, you're so doomed! I will tell Mom and Dad, that you have a weakness now! Haha!"
And then as if she just remembered something, Mandy suddenly stopped laughing, and clapped both of her hands loudly.
"Ah!" She suddenly exclaimed; surprising Axel and Li Xiqing who were standing on the side.
"I forgot to tell you!" Mandy started to say, "Mom and Dad are visiting Shanghai on Chinese New Year," and then she counted her fingers, "two months then. Xiqing, they will be here in February."
