Feifei hesitated for a while.
"Uh, is it going to be okay? I mean, I don't know her, will things become awkward if I'm around?"
Shao Yan smiled at her and patted her hand, "Well, if it makes you feel any better, I actually just met her this morning," she tilted her head as she thought for a while, "so you can say that both of us are also her new friends."
Both women walked down the staircase slowly, with Feifei's hand still linked around Shao Yan's arm.
"Hm, alright then, I shall accept your offer, best friend," Feifei grinned, "besides, it has been a while for me to eat some Spanish food."
And then she raised her other hand and cupped into the fist, before she pumped them up to the ceiling, "Let's go!"
Shao Yan laughed at her energetic self, and then they giggled together as they walked to the parking lot.
They each got into their own car, and Shao Yan quickly forwarded the address to Feifei.
After she was done, Shao Yan dialed a number, and the call was quickly connected, "Mandy jie."
Mandy had just gotten into her car when Shao Yan called. She put on her Bluetooth earphone, and answered the call right away.
"I met an old friend just now and I invited her to join us for dinner," Shao Yan said over the phone.
"No problem, Yan Yan, the more the merrier," Mandy replied while starting the car, "I'm leaving the apartment now. I'll see you soon."
"Alright, I'll see you soon!"

The building where the restaurant was located was situated by the waterfront area. The building overlooked the river and the downtown area on the other side of the river. The whole scenery outside the window was of the majestic tall buildings that were still brightly lit in this evening; creating a magnificent skyline view of the city for those who were dining inside.
The building itself was an original structure from the 1860s that had been renovated to include a modern flair.
When Shao Yan stepped inside, she saw that Feifei had been waiting for her by the front desk. She was standing while typing enthusiastically on her phone. On her lips, a silly smile was pasted all the time. Shao Yan speculated that she must be texting her crush.
When she was about to walk over, Shao Yan saw another woman was sitting down by the front desk as well. Mandy was sitting down while looking outside the window; enjoying the scenery of the quay and the colorful skyscraper lights in the background. Tiny, little lights were reflected in her eyes.
She was leaning on to the window; her legs were crossed with one hand resting on her lap, and the other hand was supporting her chin. One foot was tapping along the soft jazz music in the background.
Her eyes traced along each building and her face was so solemn; Shao Yan was not sure what she might be thinking about.
She was still wearing the same clothes as this morning; and still looked as fresh as before.
"Sis!" Shao Yan called out to her and walked over to her side. Mandy turned around to see that Shao Yan was walking over. Feifei, who heard the familiar voice, also lifted her face from her phone, and looked at Shao Yan at the same time. Shao Yan turned to each of them and smiled.
Feifei, with her phone still in her hand, walked over and stood beside Shao Yan who was now standing in front of Mandy.

"Have you been waiting for a while? I was not able to find a place to park, so I had to park at the other building," Shao Yan said to both Mandy and Feifei.
Mandy smiled at Shao Yan while shaking her head, "I also just arrived," and then she turned to look at Feifei, "and this is..?"
"Oh!" Shao Yan placed her hand over Feifei on her shoulder, "sis, this is Feifei, my friend from University."
Mandy got up from her seat and offered her hand, "Hello Feifei, Yan Yan's friend is also my friend. So, you can just call me Mandy."
Feifei was stunned at how pretty this woman is. She turned to Shao Yan and whispered, albeit a little louder, that even Mandy could actually hear her.
"Xiao Yan, Li Xiqing's family surely has a really marvelous gene! Your children in the future will look so good looking!"
Mandy giggled at her comments, and then she turned to the front desk, "We are ready now."
The receptionist lady gave a little nod, and then raised her palm side up, pointing to a direction, "Please follow me."

The area was a mix of modern contemporary interior design. A clean combination of light brown for table and dark brown for the chair and the ceiling. The carpet also maintained the dark, classy feeling with a mix of red and brown colors.
Wide, Roman colonial style windows decorated the whole surrounding of the restaurant, overlooking the river. Dimmed lighting brushed the whole area, and all the diners were treated to a view of the amazing skyline; creating a whole romantic yet comfortable experience.
Contemporary Spanish music was playing in the background, with waiters and waitresses wearing sleek black and white uniforms walked around ever so quietly and elegantly; orchestrated all the dining experience harmoniously.
"Here is your table, ladies."
Shao Yan noticed that their table was a little secluded, giving them enough space to chat. But, it was near the window, so they got a very good view of the quay and the lights.
Her mood was quickly elated. She had read a lot of good reviews of this place. She could not wait to try their food.
"Yan Yan, have you been to Spanish restaurant before?" Mandy asked her after she unfolded the table napkin and put it on her lap.
Shao Yan shook her head, "Not here, but I have tried it once when I was in New York. And Xiqing cooked a very good Paella, too. So I have not gotten the chance yet."
Mandy nodded, "It must be his seafood Paella. It is our mother's favorite food."
She was about to say more, but another waiter came by to their table to fill their tall glasses with water. After she was done, she stood by their table, and started to say, "Welcome to El Rio, ladies. The special for tonight will be our "juicy rice". We have fresh shipment of seafood from Hong Kong just arrived this morning, so our seafood for tonight will be lobster and giant tiger shrimps."
The waiter paused to flash a smile to everyone on the table, and then she continued, "Please take a moment to look at the menu, I will come back shortly to take your order of appetizer and drinks to start."
