Chapter 194: That Beautiful Girl

The first time he saw her, Zhong Yu did not even know her name.
All that he knew was that she looked so beautiful. So mesmerizing.
She was standing by the bulletin board; her long hair was dancing along with the wind. She was wearing a plain white t-shirt and pale blue jeans. He could still remember that day very clearly in his mind.
It was a bright, sunny day in the afternoon. He just came back from basketball practice, and was walking to his dorm. Both hands were holding onto the basketball, and he stopped on his track when his sight caught onto her.
He had been playing for hours. His body was aching, he was still sweating like mad, and all he could think of was to lay down on the cold tile floor and to gulp his soda like crazy.
But upon seeing this angel, he forgot all of his tired muscles. He even had forgotten about his soda. His attention was all on her.
Zhong Yu stood there unmoving. Around ten steps in front of him, there stood the most beautiful girl that he had ever seen in his life.
She was clutching onto a folder and reading the bulletin board very seriously.
He smiled to himself.
No one read that board anymore. Only the first year student would do that. It seemed that she was a freshman.

She raised one hand to tuck some of her hair behind her ear, and continued reading. Zhong Yu began to wonder what information was posted there, to attract her attention so much. He had been walking through this path every day, and he would see the bulletin board being updated frequently.
But it never crossed his mind to even stop by to read it. He felt a little regret now.
Other students walked past her, and him; but his gaze had never wavered. He watched her intently, he had never been mesmerized before. In his whole twenty year old life, this was the first time that Zhong Yu fell in love at first sight.
He did not know how much time had passed by. He did not even realize that he had been sweating even more than ever due to the heat, but he did not care even a little bit.
When she had finished her reading, the beautiful girl turned around, and started to walk away.
Zhong Yu had lifted up one foot, wanted to give her a chase. But all of a sudden, he was aware of how he looked and smelled right now. His lifted right foot was placed down to the ground again, as he halted his steps.
Zhong Yu did not want to scare the maiden away.
So he decided to wait. The university was so big, and yet today, they could pass by each other like this.
Zhong Yu believed that they would meet again in the future. And the next time, he promised himself, he would be ready.

He waited and waited patiently. He had never been tempted with other more beautiful girls around him.
His mind had always remembered that girl that he had spent his afternoon watching her for.
Zhong Yu firmly believed that his patience would pay off. And he was right.
The second time he saw the beautiful girl was at the university cafeteria. Her hair was very much shorter now. To other girls, this kind of haircut might have looked weird, as it was very short, just right by her ear. But somehow, it actually brought out her stunning feature even more.
She looked skinnier than before but she was still looking as stunning as ever.
His pretty girl was smiling very brightly at another girl who was sitting in front of her. The other girl was saying something to her in a very animated expression, her hands were flying all over the place; making his pretty girl laughed even louder.
His hands were holding onto a food tray, and again, he stopped on his track; amazed at her ever so bewitching smile.
Zhong Yu was about to walk closer to introduce himself to the beautiful girl; when suddenly an arm was draped around his shoulder. He turned around reflexively.

"Hey! Why didn't you wait for me?" Liwei, his roommate, was looking at him a little upset and also in a confusion.
Liwei continued, "What are you looking at, standing there like a fool?"
Zhong Yu was about to answer him, when Liwei turned his head around and looked at the direction of his pretty girl and her friend.
"Oh! You noticed them too?" Liwei jabbed his elbow onto Zhong Yu's arm, "Hey! What do you think of the short hair girl? Isn't she really pretty?"
Liwei grinned widely while looking at the pretty girl. One hand was still hung around Zhong Yu by his shoulder as he started to say, "I am planning to court her. She is Lu Feifei's classmate," Liwei pointed his chin towards that direction.
He then turned his head around to look at Zhong Yu in the eyes, "You know Lu Feifei, right? She's Ah Qian's sister."
Ah Qian. Lu Qian. His other roommate.
As if thunder had struck his mind senseless. 'What kind of joke was this, dear god? She had been around me all these time?'
Zhong Yu remembered Lu Qian's little sister. Lu Feifei. She had been visiting their dormitory many times to wait for her brother. He started to smile so bitterly. If only he had known that she was this close....
Zhong Yu snapped onto his senses right away and he started to say, "Liwei, that girl, I ..."
But before he was able to speak his mind, Liwei used both of his hands to grab onto Zhong Yu by his shoulders, "Brother, help me, alright? You know how my family is. I need to get married to get out of my parents' house, or I can go crazy!" He started to whine.
Liwei quickly continued, "And Feifei told me that the girl came from a broken family. Her mother had recently passed away, and her father is living in another city. Don't you think that both of us fit each other?"
Liwei turned his head to look at his pretty girl, and continued, "I can take care of her, and she also can take care of me. Both of us can start a new life together."
