The yakitori place was located in an alley where other similar international restaurants were also located.
Shao Yan was walking along the road by herself. It was a little after nine, but this area was also a late night drinking area, so many people were also still around.

The river and the city skyscrapers were spread behind him. His sturdy physique was not drowned by the magnificent view, but instead, he stood out and the rest of the scenery became his background instead.
His right foot was bent slightly and his sole stepped onto the wall behind him, while his left foot was left straight up to support his whole body. Li Xiqing was typing seriously on his phone.
Shao Yan let out a very bright smile upon seeing him. She hastened her steps to approach him.
And when she was closer, just when Li Xiqing noticed her presence, Shao Yan had thrown herself onto him. Both of her arms were wrapped around his waist and her body molded onto his embrace right away.
Her hair brushed a little part of his face, and he could smell the unique smell of her perfume.
"I'm here!" Shao Yan said cheerfully.
Li Xiqing returned her smile, and planted a kiss on her head, and then he continued typing on his phone, "Give me a second, let me finish this, alright?"
Shao Yan peeked into his phone, and saw that he was typing a text message to someone.
'No problem. Just text me your flight details and travel plans. I will arrange everything from here. I will see you soon, Mr. Kanagawa. This will be a great success. Thank you.'

Shao Yan tilted her head in confusion.
"Kanagawa.." she looked up at Li Xiqing, "the same Kanagawa as Helen Kanagawa?"
Li Xiqing locked his phone, and put it inside his pants pocket, "Yes, I was sending an email to her father."
He wrapped one hand around her waist, and started to walk, "I think there is a chance of cooperation this time, seeing that Ido Kanagawa has finally accepted our invitation for a face to face meeting."
Shao Yan walked beside him, and stayed quiet while Li Xiqing talked about work. This man had rarely told her anything related to his work. So when he did, Shao Yan would just let him talk and she would listen.
"Ido Kanagawa will be visiting Shanghai after the new year, and that is why Axel said that we should be able to close the deal in the next few months," Li Xiqing tilted his face down to look into her eyes, "Axel is confident like that. But, his projections have always been accurate." And then he turned to look at the front again, "At least, most of the time."
And then he laughed, "That's why we can trust him."
Shao Yan placed one hand on his chest and patted him as she smiled, "Good job, and soon, you can have a little rest before the next project starts."
Li Xiqing placed his own broad palm to envelope hers, and he gave a slight squeeze, "En, thank you for being so understanding with all the long hours that I need to burn. Let's go on vacation after I close this, alright?"
Shao Yan nodded, and then beamed at him, "This time, let's go to a beach?"
Li Xiqing let out a hearty laugh, "Sure, we can go anywhere you want."

Shao Yan nodded, "It turns out that she is one of the vendors that my company will engage with for the year end party."
A server came to put their orders on the table. She picked a chicken skewer and put it on Li Xiqing's plate, before she took another one and put it on hers.
"Feifei is in charge of the dessert table. I personally have tasted her cakes before, so I know the quality is definitely there," Shao Yan said as she stretched out her hand to pick up a salt container and started to put some on her plate.
"Speaking of which, we are invited to the grand opening of her cake shop," Shao Yan put the salt down, and reached out to her purse and took out the invitation card and handed it over to Li Xiqing.
She mimicked how Feifei had pointed to the spot in the corner of the card, "See this? Feifei has put the amount of guest blank. She said, I can bring as many guests as I want. She has prepared tables for ten people for now, and if I need more, I can just tell her," Shao Yan said cheerfully.
Li Xiqing read through the invitation card; the time, date and location, and then he returned it to Shao Yan, "En, I got it. Have you decided on who to bring with you?"
Shao Yan took the invitation card from his hand, and put it back into her purse, and then she went back to eating her yakitori.
"Hmm.. For now, you, Mandy jie, Axel, Karl, Risa, Grandma and maybe Fan jie," Shao Yan quickly listed down the people that she had in her mind.
"I was thinking of Polo, Bo, Li Na, uncle Huo and Wenhai as well, but the party falls on a Saturday, so I am not sure if they already have previous engagement to go to. Maybe I can ask," she continued to say.
"En, I'll ask Polo, Bo and Karl about their availability as well," Li Xiqing then scanned the table, and then he took the menu and started to look at it again, "is there anything else you want to order?"
Shao Yan looked at the amount of skewers that they had eaten together. Surprised at herself, she looked back at Li Xiqing with her big, round eyes, "I- I think I'm full now, you can just order for yourself."
