"I am sorry that you have to see that," Shao Yan started to say. Her eyes drooped down; she gloomily stared at both of her hands that were intertwined on her lap.

The two of them were sitting inside the sleek Audi SUV, with Li Xiqing steering behind the wheel and started to drive home.

The traffic around them was busy as it was the weekend. With slow jazz music serenading their journey, Shao Yan gradually relaxed herself and her mind started to think back at what had just happened.

Li Xiqing glanced at her. His right hand reached out to her and brushed her head lovingly.

And then with his broad palm, he cupped her cheek and his thumb caressed her soft skin.

"Why are you apologizing, silly?" He looked back to the front and continued, "Those idiots fighting with each other is not your fault."

When the traffic lights changed to red and the vehicle stopped, he reached out to grab hold of her hand, and linked them.

"The past is a part of you, but," he pulled her hand slightly to stress his point, "it is only a small part of you.

"I get to know that small part today, and that's all good. What is important right now is our future days together. So, close that chapter behind, and let's move on," he squeezed her hand lightly, "I will be with you along the way, alright?"

"En," Shao Yan nodded her head, "I know. I just feel embarrassed that you see this kind of a past that I have."

Li Xiqing pursed his lips as he teased, "I am on the winning side here, I can care less of what those two idiots were doing," he paused to signal the car to turn, "shall I bring you to a fun place?"

And then without waiting for her to answer, Li Xiqing took the exit and started driving away.

.....

"So?" Risa turned to the side and tilted her head as she stared at Karl, "Do you know what was going on?"

Karl was standing by her side the whole time. As the two of watched Shao Yan and Daniel exited the shop, Karl started to say, "I don't. I figured she was just really caught a cold and Daniel got upset because of that."

And then Karl glanced to his back and looked at the patio outside, "Or, something serious must have happened to make Daniel that pissed off," he mumbled under his breath as he squinted his eyes suspiciously.

Just as he said that, the door to the patio opened. Both Karl and Risa turned their heads around and saw Axel and Mandy just stepped inside.

Mandy stepped into the room first, with Axel trailing closely behind her. The chilly wind from the outside wafted in.

Risa reflexively hugged both of her elbows and shivered.

"Let's go back to our table, don't stand here anymore," Karl suggested when he felt the wind also brushing his face.

Without waiting for Risa to answer, he politely put one hand at her back, and guided her to walk back to their table. When Risa had followed through, Karl let go off his hand and walked by her side until both of them had sat down.

Grandma Wu saw every single interaction that they had with each other. Without saying a single word, she lifted her tea cup and started to sip from it.

.....

"Excuse me?"

Mandy had just entered the cake shop again and saw some new faces had joined them in their previous table.

She quickly walked to Risa's side and asked her the question, "Are you Yan Yan's grandmother and cousin?"

Risa smiled at her before she got up from her seat and offered her hand, "Hello, it's too bad we get to meet each other like this. I am Yan Yan's cousin. You can just call me Risa."

Mandy accepted the gesture, she offered her own hand to shake hers, "I am Mandy, Xiqing's elder sister."

"I know," Risa nodded her head, and then with her palm side up, she introduced Grandma, "Please meet our Grandmother."

Mandy quickly walked to her side, and with a little bow, she quickly said, "My apologies, Grandmother, to have meeting you the first time in this place. And Yan Yan is not here as well," she said in fluster.

Grandma Wu chuckled as she patted her shoulder, "Don't be like a stranger. We are all family. It does not matter where we should meet the first time. This is good," she said cheerfully.

"Xiqing has told me a lot about you and your husband," Grandma Wu glanced to the side and looked at the man who was standing behind Mandy.

Axel noticed that Grandma Wu had shifted her attention to him. He stepped to the front and decided to introduce himself, "Hello, Grandmother, it is our pleasure to finally meet you."

Grandma Wu nodded at the husband and wife who started to chat with her happily.

.....

"Oh! I remember you!"

Risa was wondering where she had met Mandy's husband. His face was so familiar that she was so sure that they had encountered each other before.

After chatting for a while, she also jogged her memory to try to remember his face. And finally she did.

"It was maybe around last year? Risa started to say, "You are an antique dealer, aren't you? We met in New York City. Kei, my husband, was looking for an antique Qing dynasty vase."

Axel slowly smiled. His charming face bloomed as his eyes sparkled in joy; captivating his audience.

"That is correct."

He was leaning back to his chair. One hand was holding his tea cup, and another hand was holding the saucer; Axel tilted his head to the side and continued, "I was wondering when you will remember about meeting me."

Risa clapped both of her hands in front of her, as she said excitedly, "You did not have a mustache that time, I think?"

Her comment made Axel roar in laughter.

"Ha ha! That is actually correct. I only started to grow my mustache this year," he put down his tea cup, and then reached out to the side to grand Mandy by her hand.

"It was because I was trying to charm my wife, that I decided to have this look," Axel pursed his lips and slowly smirked when Mandy was throwing a glare at him.
