"Stop joking around," Mandy slapped her hand onto the back of Axel's hand, and feigned an anger, "you will just make others feel awkward."
Risa bit both of her lips together, trying not to laugh at the husband and wife. She glanced to the side, and saw Karl was also trying to do the same thing.
Axel coughed to clear his throat and then he straightened up; no more teasing the wife, as he started to say, "Yes, anyway where were we?"
Risa smiled, and pretended that she did not see anything, as she said, "So, we met last year. Kei and I were meeting you at The Plaza hotel to talk about the goods that we were looking for."
"Ah!" Axel exclaimed, "That is correct. Yes, we did meet last year, and I still remember vividly because the items that your husband requested were all good stuff."
Risa slowly smiled, but her eyes did not sparkle as usual. She looked down at her clasped hands, and mumbled, "Yes, you are right."
The table went quiet for a while as everyone suddenly did not know what to say.
Karl looked at the dejected Risa. He was worried about her expression, but decided not to say anything.
He glanced at Mandy and Axel who were sitting in front of him, "So, what happened in the patio just now? Daniel looked really upset when he came back inside."
Mandy had just raised her hand to pick up a slice of cake. Her hand paused mid-air before she glanced at Axel with a questioning stare.
From the corner of his eyes, Axel glanced back at Mandy before he looked back at Karl and answered him.
"Well, there was a small fight outside. Shao Yan seemed to know them, so maybe that was why," and then he picked up his tea cup again, before continuing, "and to update you, I have asked Bobby to investigate deeper but this time, it is for Helen Kanagawa."
He made a salute gesture using his tea cup towards Karl, "We will win this deal for sure."

"Can you tell me what happened now?"
Charles was walking ahead of her when Helen suddenly shot her hand forward and grabbed hold of his arm. Her fingers wrapped around his biceps and forced him to turn around.
"Stop joking around, alright!" Charles shook her hold off of him, and wanted to keep walking, but Helen suddenly stepped in front of him and blocked his way.
"You made me look like a fool earlier, so yes, hubby, you owe me an explanation," she said sarcastically as she folded both of her arms in front of her chest.
Charles raised one hand and ran his fingers on his hair in frustration.
His day was ruined. First, he saw his ex-wife looking so beautiful and stunning that he could not keep his eyes away from her. The way she shined so brightly today somehow reminded him of how he first fell in love with her.
Her innocent smile when she looked up at him. Her bashful face when he teased her back.
And then he felt this surge of jealousy when he saw another man had his hand around her possessively now.
Charles decided to drink a little to wash down his frustration. After his second glass, going to the third, he saw his best friend who was standing at the side. Zhong Yu was looking at his ex-wife with the same longing look that he had always had towards Shao Yan.
Feeling all sour and bitter, he had somehow decided to gloat of his past in front of Zhong Yu. He was not sure why he did that either.
'Was it because I was jealous of him? Was it because I was jealous of her? Was it because I felt regret?' he just kept thinking along that course in his mind.

"What? Cat got onto your tongue now?" Helen started to say impatiently.
"You can't give me any explanation? Should I go back inside and ask the others instead?"
Charles, who was drowning in his own thinking, raised his face up and glared at her.
"What do you really want to know really?" He started to roar back at her, "That my own best friend punched me in the face because of another girl? And that other girl was none other than my own ex-wife?"
He looked up to the sky and laughed out loud, "And then she slapped me on the face because I was insulting her new man out of jealousy?"
"Will that make you feel better, now, dear wife? Huh?" He paused to see Helen was surprised at his reply. Her eyes were looking at him in disbelief as her mouth parted and about to say something. But no words came out of her red stained lips.
"Exactly! You can't say anything back at me either, can you?" And after he finished saying that, Charles circled around her and started to walk to their car.
Helen blinked her eyes furiously. She could not believe what she had just heard.
Her heart lurched and her breathing started to grow heavier.
Helen tried to gasp for air over the shock that she had just received.
One hand was holding onto the wall as she slowly leaned her back against it as well and tried to catch onto some air.

"So, where are we going?"
Shao Yan was looking around the area, trying to find a clue, but all she could see was buildings around her.
They have been driving for about two hours now, and Li Xiqing still was not willing to say anything.
He would laugh and say, "You'll see soon, be patient!" he said every time she asked.
Shao Yan felt the car was slowing down, and then she saw from afar, a bamboo signage was hung on top of a red gate with words spelled out as "Bamboo Forest".
Her eyes went so round, as she threw her head around to look back at him. Her beautiful eyes were sparking and she exclaimed, "No way!" and then she laughed cheerfully, "I have always been wanting to visit this place!"
