Shao Yan pursed her lips and slapped her hand on his thigh; causing him to laugh even harder.

"You are so annoying!" She said while feigning irritancies.

Li Xiqing was still laughing at her pouting face.

He reached out one hand to brush her hair. He buried his fingers in her hair and lightly massage her scalp, before pulling her closer.

His lips brushed lightly in the corner of her lips and he whispered, "I will never stop annoying you," and then he touched his lips to hers ever so gently.

Scents of the spring grapes circulated around them as they kissed slowly. Each of them savoring each other's taste only with their lips.

Shao Yan kept her eyes opened; looking deep into his eyes as he landed soft pecks on her lips. He also had his eyes opened, tracing all of her faces; starting from her stunning eyes, down to her small nose and then her tiny, delectable lips.

After a while, Shao Yan could not hold her smile.

She raised both hands and cupped his face on each side, "Who's afraid of who! I'll never stop annoying you too, then."

And then she smooched his lips and left a loud peck; before she moved away.

'Must stop kissing,' She reminded herself, 'Or the night will end up not talking, but more.. uh.. moaning.'

As the thoughts crossed her mind, 'Yes, must stop!' Shao Yan commanded herself as she involuntarily blushed. She quickly chased her tempted minds away.

She really wanted to just talk to him.

For now.

.......

Shao Yan quickly scooted to the other end of the sofa before Li Xiqing started his actions on something else.

"So uh..." She started to say, "Do you remember when you told me about Vivian before?"

Seeing how she escaped so quickly, Li Xiqing could not help to smirk in amusement, "Uh huh? Which part?"

Shao Yan knew exactly the meaning behind the smirk. She glared at him in return.

"When you said you caught her with another man."

Looking at how she still looked so cute even when she was glaring, Li Xiqing could not help to smile helplessly.

'This woman really underestimated her own attractiveness,' He thought to himself.

.......

Li Xiqing changed his sitting position. He crossed his long legs and leaned back more comfortably.

Each of them was now sitting on the opposite end of another. He let his heels bumped onto hers every now and then. She would return his actions and bumped into his ankle ever so gently as well.

Seeing that Shao Yan really wanted to chat, he better be in his best behavior.

Or else, the wife might actually kick him outside and no snuggles tonight.

He shuddered at the thoughts.

.......

"Yeah, what about it?" He said before he sipped on his wine again.

Shao Yan was not sure how to open the topic, so she decided to just go straight to the point.

"You only said that you met them on your business trip to San Francisco and never actually told me the other details."

She quickly continued before Li Xiqing misunderstood that she was asking for him to be specific, "I don't need you to tell me how and where. I don't need to know that much."

Li Xiqing looked at her; confused. He stayed silent to let her continue with her line of thoughts.

"But, did you actually catch them at The Pier?" She sipped on her wine; anxious for his reply, "Were you at The Pier that day?"

Li Xiqing looked quizzically at her, "How did you know? What did she say to you today?"

His eyebrows were furrowed; he was not pleased if she was fed with lies or distorted facts.

But he knew that his Shao Yan would rather confront him with a lot of questions before she started to trust other people.

.......

"Well," Shao Yan hesitated for a while, "She wanted me to return something to you."

Shao Yan peeked at him; her long eyelashes blinked softly at him.

Li Xiqing squinted his eyes as he was trying to think of any important stuff that he might have left behind.

But he quickly cleared his thoughts.

Whatever the stuff might be, it was from years ago; he was sure he would not need them anymore now.

Li Xiqing shrugged and kept on sipping his wine, "Whatever that is, it's been years. I would have bought the things to replace them."

Shao Yan pursed her lips together, trying to hold her smile. His words were exactly the same as hers this afternoon.

"That's what I thought so too."

She purposely paused for a while.

"But .... It's a red maroon box," Shao Yan finally said while looking at his facial expression.

He raised one eyebrow, "I see," and then scoffed, "That's hers. She can keep that, or throw it away, I don't really care."

Seeing that she almost finished her wine, Li Xiqing reached out to the bottle inside an ice bucket and refilled her glass, "What is it that you want to ask me?"

.......

Her eyes were fixed at the bubbles inside her glass that were slowly rising up from the bottom to the rim of the crystal glass.

"Do you still remember the girl that you helped out at The Pier that day?"

His eyebrows were scrunched together as he tried to remember what exactly happened that day.

"Not really," Li Xiqing carefully balanced the bottle in his hand while he poured the wine, "How did you even know about this story? What did she actually say to you?"

He looked up at her when he was done, waiting for her to answer.

Shao Yan smiled at him as she reached out to take her glass back, "That girl was me," and then she calmly sipped her wine.

Li Xiqing looked at her and paused for a while.

'That girl was me.'

Her words were echoing in his mind over and over again.

"Wait?" He opened his mouth, and then closed it again in disbelief, "What?"

.......

Shao Yan started to point at herself excitedly.

"I said, the girl that you helped out that day, was me."

Her eyes went round in excitement as she kept pointing at herself. Li Xiqing was still looking at her incredulously.

Shao Yan then started to explain, "Actually, I did not remember that incident at all - until today."

"Vivian had this incredibly pretty bag with her, and I kept feeling weird whenever I saw that bag."

She sipped her wine again, "Like a sense of dejavu, but I felt happy and sad at the same time."

So she repeated her story to Li Xiqing again; and he listened to her in silence.

The whole time, his heart could not stop feeling amazed at how the whole event turned out for the two of them.

"And after she left with the man, I went back to the shop again," Shao Yan shrugged as she finished telling him.

Slowly, he could picture the whole scene in his head. He remembered saving someone, and he remembered telling the men to stay away.

But he could not remember any faces; not of the guys, not even of hers.

Li Xiqing put down his glass on the table, and then he faced Shao Yan.

He reached out his hands, and took the glass away from her hand, before pulling her into his embrace.
