With one hand, he pulled her hand onto him and his other arm wrapped around her back.
His two arms were caging her on each side, Li Xiqing buried his face in her neck; he needed to convince himself that she was real.

Clutching onto his back, she whispered, "En," a small smile appeared in her lips, "I thank God that it was you, too."
And she could feel him squeezing her a little.
She gently patted her hands on his back, trying to match his maddening heartbeats.
And gradually, the rush slowed down.
The two of them just spent the moment to be in each other embrace like this; each immersed in their deep, profound feelings that they actually had found each other years ago.
And that it turned out so beautifully today.

"It's so funny," He started to say, "The few weeks before that, both of us were still in New York, and the few weeks after, both of us happened to be in San Francisco as well."

"En," She nodded weakly and yet she also felt amazed at the same time, "It is a really funny... twist of fate."
Shao Yan looked up at him.
"You know," She ran her index finger along his jaw; his eyes were fixated on her.
"Actually, after I left New York, I was planning to just go back to China right away."

Somewhere along the way, the TV volume was tuned down, and all they could hear was each other's voice and silent heart beats.
"But," Her eyes drooped down as she rested her palm on his chest, "At the time, I did not have enough money to make that kind of trip, and I could only buy a local plane ticket."
Li Xiqing placed his palm over her hand and held it in. He was listening to her story in silence.
"I was actually thinking maybe I could just borrow some money from my friend so I can go home."
Shao Yan looked up to meet his eyes and chuckled silently, "But can you imagine, what will happen if I actually did not go to San Francisco, and just went back to China?"
"We would not be meeting each other then."
