Soft patter sounds entered the bathroom.

"What happened?"

Li Xiqing was splashing cold water onto his face when Shao Yan stood by his side. She tilted her head in confusion while waiting for him to answer; she was holding a towel in her hands for him.

"We don't know yet," he received the towel from her, and started to wipe his face and neck.

"They rushed him to the hospital this afternoon," he turned around and hung the towel back to the rack.

"When Martin called me just now, he said that the surgery had just started."

He looked at himself in the mirror and then started to style his hair. Shao Yan was still standing by the door patiently, trying to help him however she could.

Once he was convinced that his look was more presentable, Li Xiqing walked out of the bathroom.

Shao Yan, wrapped in her fluffy bathrobe, followed closely behind him.

"I am going to pick Martin up now, and then we are going to the hospital."

"En," Shao Yan hummed her acknowledgement.

"You just go to sleep first, I will probably be back home in a few hours," Li Xiqing opened a drawer and took out a fresh pair of socks and then turned around to face her.

With his other hand, he brushed away the fringe that was covering her forehead, "It's going to be fine, don't think too much."

And then he leaned closer; his lips touched her skin ever so gently and planted a kiss on her forehead.

After a while, he moved slightly away, "I'm sorry for tonight," he slightly bent his index finger knuckle, Li Xiqing brushed her nose gently, "I still owe you."

He whispered, "And I will pay the debt ... with much interest soon!"

Shao Yan could feel her face turned warmer; she blushed when she heard his gruff tone by her ears.

Shao Yan pursed her lips together and gave a little nod, "En."

....

"Young Miss."

Helen was twisting the handkerchief in her hands. Her thoughts were travelling around, she had so many things running through her mind that needed to be settled.

When Hiroto called for her, Helen raised up her face slightly to look at him, but from the corner of her eyes she saw some figures were walking to their side from the end of the hallway.

Helen quickly adjusted her face and stood up from her seat.

Her eyes squinted when she recognized one of the men. Helen stopped herself from clicking her tongue. This guy was the boyfriend of Charles' ex.

'What an eyesore,' She thought to herself, 'What does he want here? Snooping around?'

The two of them stopped just a few feet in front of Hiroto and Helen.

One man that Helen did not recognize gave a small bow towards them before he started to introduce himself.

"Miss Kanagawa, Hiroto-san," Martin gave a little nod before he looked at them straight in their eyes, "We are from AG International."

"I'm sorry for what happened," He looked at Helen and then at Hiroto, "We rushed here as soon as we found out about Mr. Kanagawa."

Hiroto stood still next to Helen and did not say anything, as he assumed Helen would be the one to say something.

But after waiting for a few seconds, Helen still kept her mouth closed, so Hiroto took it to himself to give a reply.

Hiroto had met these two gentlemen in the past. Back in Tokyo, these two men had visited Kanagawa Industries multiple times to negotiate the buy-out.

"Mr. Anderson," Hiroto greeted Martin and then he glanced at Daniel with a nod as well, "Mr. Li."

"Thank you for your visit, we really appreciate the gesture."

Helen looked away and went back to her seat.

She decided to play ignorant and let Hiroto talk to the guests.

She closed her eyes and leaned the back of her head on the wall. Her fingers dug deep in her hands, hidden by the handkerchief.

'Damn you, Charles,' She cursed in her heart, 'where are you when I need you now?'

....

Li Xiqing looked at the operating room, and then he glanced around the hallway.

Other than him and Martin, there were also other guests who had arrived earlier.

They were either busy typing on their mobile phones or talking amongst themselves while keeping their voices down.

Hiroto-san, the most trusted man of Ido Kanagawa did not even bother to spend his time with those business associates to increase his own reputation.

On the other hand, he chose to stand by Helen's side and make sure she was well taken care of.

Li Xiqing could not help to feel a deep respect towards this man.

It seemed that 'Family Values' were deeply ingrained in this man's heart.

"Hiroto-san," Martin continued, "How is the situation right now? What actually happened?"

"We just talked to Mr. Ido Kanagawa a few days ago, and he was fine."

"Gentlemen," The elder Japanese man kept his voice down out of respect to the other guests, he stepped away and started to say, "The doctor just said that the procedure will be more complicated."

And then he paused.

"Mainly because of his age," He finished his sentence and then he looked away.

Martin and Li Xiqing took the signal that the conversation was over.

No one knew what happened and no one even whispered their speculations.

....

Hiroto gave a bow to the last guest that finally left the hospital.

He straightened up his body and looked at the departing backs on the business associates.

'Those people are more worried about their own business deals,' He scoffed in his heart, 'while my master is fighting with the grim reaper inside the surgery room, all they can think of is only their profits.'

Hiroto turned around and walked back to the surgery room.

The elderly man had been standing for a few hours, but his posture was still straight and impeccable.

From afar, he saw that one of his men handed over a paper bag of packed food to Helen Kanagawa.

She glanced to the side and looked at the paper bag in the young man's hand. Helen then averted her eyes back to her phone in her hand and with another hand she waved away; signaling the man to put the bag down by her feet.

Hiroto heaved a soft sigh, 'What would be the future of Kanagawa Industries now?'

His mind started to ponder. The other young masters were not interested in taking over the company. On the other hand, their young miss were still too naive and inexperienced.

And then another face appeared in his mind.

The son in law?

Hiroto clenched his fist.

'Pray to god, Mister son in law, that I do not find you first before the police,' Hiroto swore in his heart.

'Or I will gut your heart out and feed your body to the sharks.'

His eyes glinted with anger.

It was so fierce and menacing; some of the men who were walking besides him could feel his aura that was thirsty for a blood hunt.
