Chapter 208 - "Assassin and Future Plans"

“Assassin and Future Plans”

“I’m back.”

“Welcome back. How did it go?”

“Before that… [Sleep Mist].”

Returning to Sanya’s room, I immediately released a mist of sleep magic that dispersed around the room. After a while, I heard the sound of someone sleeping. I went to the next room and found the figure wearing a hood from earlier, who had been in the second princess’s room, lying unconscious.

I conducted a body search to ensure she didn’t have anything suspicious on her and checked her pockets, where I felt something soft.

“…She’s a girl.”

Indeed, what I had grabbed was her chest. Removing her hood, I saw that she was a girl in her early teens with a somewhat childlike face, yet her chest armor was substantial, at least enough that it didn’t fit in my hand. …Maybe about an E-cup.

Although I, in my current state, didn’t feel anything by touching it, it certainly wouldn’t be the same for the person on the receiving end. It was the right choice to put her to sleep.

The girl had well-featured, charming looks. She had short green hair and yellow eyes, giving her an appealing, cute appearance. By the way, I confirmed the eye color after opening her eyelids.

I used [Super Analysis] just to be sure, and her name was Cham. Her parameters ranged from SF to SE, slightly higher than Sanya’s, and she seemed to specialize in hand-to-hand combat, assassination techniques, and poison-related skills, indicating her role as an assassin. A cute face but pretty scary skills.

“Nothing suspicious apart from poison. Anyhow…”

“Um, are you okay, Rolando-san? Who is that person?”

Just as I finished the body search, Sara poked her head out the door to her room. I assured her that everything was safe, and I entered the room, keeping an eye on the girl.

“This was a spy who was in the second princess’s room. She was probably monitoring you.”

“Me!?”

When I told her the girl’s true identity, Sara widened her eyes in surprise. As we discussed this, the girl let out a cute groan, so I used the rope from my inventory to tie her up.

We then took her to Sanya’s room and waited for her to wake up. When she finally did, upon realizing her restrained situation, she made a gesture as if biting her back teeth. She had tried to commit suicide using poison hidden in her back teeth.

“Unfortunately, I’ve confiscated all the poison you had. You won’t even be allowed to die.”

“…”

“However, I don’t intend to kill you. I’ve restrained you to discuss things you might not want to hear, not to kill you.”

“Ugh…”

As an assassin, a mission’s failure meant death. Whether she took pride in her work or had been conditioned to think that way, I couldn’t say for sure, but living like this at such a young age felt lonely.

“Well, just stay quiet there for a while. [Air Wall], [Silent], [Vision Screen].”

While saying this to her—Cham—I created a dome-shaped shelter around her, cutting off external sounds and making the outside world invisible.

From her perspective, she couldn’t hear any external sounds or see anything outside. This way, it would be impossible to overhear our conversation.

Even without going through all this trouble, I could simply tap her neck lightly to make her faint, or I could use the sleep magic again. However, considering the circumstances… you see? I grabbed her chest without permission, so I’d be polite and do it this way. …It was beyond my control, you know.

After dealing with Cham, I explained the events in the second princess’s room again to Sara and the others. Both of them couldn’t believe that their own sister would resort to harming them, and they looked disheartened.

“As expected, Elder sister Sanya’s curse is caused by Elder sister Saniya…”

“And what is Saniya thinking, trying to invade the human world again…”

“Anyway, it’s uncertain when the second princess will strike again while we’re here in the royal castle. Is there any hiding place we can use?”

Although both of them had temporarily escaped immediate danger, it was unknown when the second princess would attack again while they were in the royal castle. It would be best to hide somewhere beyond her reach. When I asked if there was such a place, both of them wore difficult expressions, indicating that there might not be such a place.

Then, as if she had a brilliant idea, Sara clapped her hands.

“In that case, why not hide at Rolando-san’s place?”

“At my place?”

“Yes, at Rolando-san’s home.”

I gave her a look as if to say, “What on earth are you talking about?” Sara, looking surprised by my expression, asked, “Why do you look down on that idea?”

So, I had to explain the current situation to her.

“Listen. I’m currently in the middle of hearing your request to go back to my own house. Don’t forget that.”

“Yes. So, as a prepayment for your reward, I’ll release the Dispel Stone’s barrier, which would allow you to return to your original location, as a reward for helping Elder sister Sanya, okay?”

“…I see. For a Sara-like person, you actually came up with a decent idea.”

“Ehehe.”

Well, I was not exactly praising her, but whatever. If that was possible, I could use teleportation magic to hide both of them at my mansion in the human world. I supposed I should still report to the king, but even as a king, he wouldn’t have a choice but to cooperate when faced with the prospect of another attack by the Demon Lord. No, he might even provide active assistance.

Now that our future plan was settled, I released Cham from her confinement. She looked surprised at her sudden freedom, but before anything else, it was time to determine her fate.

“Now, about your fate…”

“Just kill me. I got caught by you. My mission failed.”

“I see, so you’re a ‘that’ type of girl, huh…? I appreciate your determination, but you’ll have to live. However, it wouldn’t sit right with me if you just returned safely like this. So, you’re going to sign this contract.”

“…?”

Ignoring Cham’s puzzled expression, I took out a contract I had created using magic. It wasn’t the same contract as the [Death Contract] I had with my father, Randall, the current head of the Malbert family.

After that incident, it was deemed that the condition of facing death if the contract was broken was too inflexible. So, I had created a new contract magic called [Condition Contract].

While it still had the condition that breaking the contract would result in some form of punishment, [Condition Contract] allowed for specifying punishments other than death.

“The contract’s content is that ‘the disclosure of information regarding Sara, Sanya, and myself is prohibited.’ In simpler terms, it means that if you try to disclose anything about us using any means, it will be considered a breach of contract.”

“…”

“Well, as long as you don’t talk about us, there won’t be any problems. I’ll keep the punishment for breaking it a secret for now. But I’ll say this much: the punishment is designed to make you wish you were dead. So, if you don’t want to experience that, keep your end of the bargain, alright? So, sign here.”

After I finished explaining, I handed Cham the contract. By the way, the contract’s content was written in magical script, making it impossible for anyone other than me to read it. This meant that I could falsify the content as much as I wanted, and the person entering the contract would be subjected to an unreasonable demand. Of course, I wouldn’t use such a devious trick unless the other party was a villain, but in this world, where nothing was absolute, I couldn’t guarantee that I would never use it.

Unaware of all this, Cham obediently signed the contract as I instructed. She didn’t seem to grasp the true horror of this devil’s contract, but she would come to understand it firsthand in the future.

“Now you won’t be able to speak about us to anyone. For now, go to sleep again. [Sleep].”

After finishing the contract, I cast the sleep spell on Cham as if she were no longer of any use. Once I confirmed that she had lost consciousness again, I turned to Sara to confirm our future plans.

“For now, let’s head to the temple with the Dispel Stone and remove my Magic Power Fixed.”

“Yes, that’s a good idea. We should wait until Rolando-san can use teleportation magic.”

“Um, I can’t see what’s going on…”

Sanya, who couldn’t understand the content of our conversation, asked. Seeing her sister’s confusion, Sara tried to explain…

“Well, for now, Rolando-san needs to become ‘bin-bin‘.”

“…?”

Sanya looked even more confused by Sara’s explanation. I’m sorry, but this is entirely Sara’s fault. What the heck does ‘bin-bin‘ mean? Please refrain from making statements that could lead to misunderstandings. TLN: Bin-bin (びんびん) is a Japanese onomatopoeic word that represents a tingling or buzzing sensation, often associated with excitement, nervousness, or anticipation. It’s used to describe a state of heightened alertness or a sensation of being on edge. Or, what I got from weblio, びんびん is a state where something strongly resonates with one’s heart or emotions.

Anyway, I told Sanya to wait for us because we were going out for a bit, leaving her and her maid Tillis in the room.

As an aside, as soon as we left Sanya’s room, I gave Sara a flick on the forehead and scolded her, “Who says things that can be so easily misunderstood like that?” Needless to say, I wasn’t happy about her explanation.
