Chapter 218 - "A Swift Conclusion"

“A Swift Conclusion”

“Don’t say such things like you’re some kind of emperor of some universe. Are you just shy after meeting your ‘master’ after such a long time?”

“‘Gather the source of all power, and now, let that individual revel in destruction and chaos…’ [Ultimate Destruction]!”

Just as my anger reached its peak due to Nagartinya’s words and actions that irritated me to no end, a miracle occurred.

My top-tier skill, “Parallel Thinking”, which was designed for ultra-focus, responded to my anger and began calculating at an astonishing speed. In an effort to bring down this villain in front of me, “Parallel Thinking” chose to eliminate magic through an inconceivably rapid process.

In this world, magic relied heavily on imagination. Conversely, if you could imagine it, you could use your magic power to make it a reality. When I used magic, I typically didn’t need to chant the incantations that were typically necessary when casting spells. Instead, I used the magic name and the image I had in my mind to realize the most magical effects.

However, “Parallel Thinking” realized that this wouldn’t be enough to defeat the person before me. It succeeded in creating a new skill called [Chant Amplification] by adding a single process to the magic, a process I usually didn’t need—a chanting incantation. Depending on the content of this incantation, it could enhance the power and effects of the magic.

As a result, my magic, enhanced by chanting, was combined with the magic name I created, resulting in a supremely powerful, large-scale annihilating magic spell known as [Ultimate Destruction], capable of turning an entire kingdom into a barren wasteland.

The stance I took for this spell was akin to a technique used by the main character in a manga where they gather seven balls to make a wish come true. Presumably, “Parallel Thinking” judged this to be the most efficient stance for casting this magic.

The outrageously powerful magic I unleashed transformed into a basketball-sized sphere and hurtled towards Nagartinya. The condensed magical energy wasn’t something to be taken lightly; if it went awry, it could reduce the entire demon world to a lifeless wasteland.

“W-What an incredibly high-powered spell. I can’t possibly defend against this.”

Even Belphegor, who had faced off against me until just a moment ago, couldn’t help but exclaim at the astonishing might of this spell.

Despite the immense power of the spell being aimed at her, Nagartinya herself wore a faint smile as she extended her right hand.

In response, a thin, membrane-like bubble-like sphere appeared in the air, enveloping my [Ultimate Destruction]. Although Nagartinya’s sphere also contained a considerable amount of magic power, it seemed gentle, like quiet water.

As the destructive sphere, which was approaching mercilessly, was wrapped in a fragile bubble, the high-powered sphere within the bubble erupted suddenly, generating a massive magical explosion.

However, the shockwaves and explosions remained sealed within the bubble, gradually losing their strength.

No matter how powerful the magic, it couldn’t last indefinitely. Finally, the destructive power dissipated entirely within the bubble, leaving everything as if nothing had happened, in complete silence.

“Tch, it seems this won’t work either. That was my full-powered magic.”

“Well, Rolando-kyun, it’s over now. You shouldn’t use such magic against people.”

“You’re not a person in my eyes; you’re a monster in the guise of a human. I’m not the one to talk either, but you take it to another level.”

“Calling a maiden a monster is quite harsh, you know. I might start crying. Yoyoyoyoyo~”

Nagartinya’s intentionally dramatic performance, along with her words, further fueled my anger, but at this point, I had no way to deal with her. The [Ultimate Destruction] I had unleashed was of high power, and it was a magic spell thrown with all my might.

Even if I couldn’t land a single scratch on her with that, the only option I had left was a self-destructive explosion. But even that wasn’t guaranteed to defeat her.

As this exchange continued, Belphegor, who had been observing, approached Nagartinya with a murderous intent, ready to confront her.

“You are the Witch of Disaster! You loathsome creature!!”

“…I remember that magical power. Ah, it’s the previous Demon Lord, Belphegor, right?”

Using [Super Demonic Transformation], Belphegor, who now appeared as a gargoyle-like figure, was identified solely by his magical power. On the other hand, Belphegor openly revealed his murderous intent as he confronted the enemy he had once been defeated by.

“Your luck has run out here. Prepare to die!! [Chaotic Catastrophe]!”

“Hmph.”

Belphegor unleashed a full-powered magic attack, which Nagartinya casually dispelled with a flick of her hands as if swatting a fly.

Both Belphegor and I couldn’t help but be amazed at how Nagartinya effortlessly deflected a magic spell that, while inferior to my [Ultimate Destruction], was still powerful enough to wreak havoc in this area.

“It seems you haven’t learned your lesson. I let you go once, but this time, I won’t be so lenient. …Pon.“

Saying this, Nagartinya snapped her fingers, and Belphegor, who had possessed Saniya, was forcibly separated from her. At the moment of separation, when Belphegor reverted to her original form, Nagartinya used her magic to restrain Belphegor.

“N-No, this can’t be! This can’t beee!!”

“I could kill you, but you’d probably come back to life. So, I’ll just leave you in eternal imprisonment. [Dimension Prison].”

Nagartinya cast a particular spell. I immediately understood what kind of magic it was, and its contents sent shivers down my spine.

It was a spatial attribute magic that simply created an empty subspace and confined something within it. What made it terrifying was that even if the person who cast the magic died, the trapped entity could never escape from this space.

In other words, unless Nagartinya herself released [Dimension Prison], Belphegor would be trapped in this subspace for eternity.

“This… This can’t be happening! I’m the Demon Lord! I can’t be captured so easily—”

“Just get in there already. You’re so annoying.”

Belphegor, who had been absorbed into the vortex as dark as a black hole, disappeared without ever having a proper showdown with his arch-nemesis, Nagartinya.

I had hoped for a battle where the outcome was uncertain, but that wish was never granted.
