Chapter 220 - “Next problem”

“Next problem”

“So, what was the deal with this incident?”

After everything was settled, Nagartinya was the one asking this question. Her attitude didn’t seem mocking; rather, it conveyed a genuine interest in understanding the details of what had happened.

However, I didn’t want to give her a straightforward answer after all the chaos she had caused, so I decided to respond casually.

“Well, you see, it was all just a mochi-mochi pettan situation.”

“I see. So, it was a conflict between the Demon Lord’s daughters, with the previous Demon Lord secretly manipulating his second daughter. And then Rolando-kyun stepped in.”

“…”

Again? Is it happening again? Both Hannibal and now Nagartinya, why do these humans, who seem to be quite enamored with me, accept my casual explanations so easily? I can’t understand it.

Well, looking at the bright side, it saved me the trouble of giving unnecessary explanations. Still, I couldn’t help but feel irritated that my actions, which were meant as a prank, were so readily understood.

Perhaps Nagartinya sensed my inner turmoil or maybe not, but she started speaking with an unusual seriousness.

“I’ve mentioned this before, but that previous Demon Lord, Belphegor, was the man who triggered the war between demons and humans about two hundred fifty years ago. He was a man filled with ambition and greed. I defeated him once, but he managed to survive by sealing a part of his soul in a magical tool just before dying.”

“And then, by sheer chance, Saniya found that magical tool, allowing Belphegor to seize the opportunity for his revival by possessing her…”

“While I didn’t know about that, I still did something terrible to Older sister Saniya and Sara.”

As Nagartinya explained, Belial and Saniya expressed their thoughts one after the other. The Seven Demon Generals remained silent, watching the situation.

In any case, we managed to prevent a crisis this time, but Nagartinya’s explanation made me realize that there was a possibility Belphegor had transferred his soul again. Whether that concern was evident on my face or not, Nagartinya dismissed my thoughts.

“Belphegor won’t be able to transfer his soul again. I locked his entire soul in that extra-dimensional space. Breaking out of that would require an immense amount of magic power and high-level spatial magic. Even if I were to die, he wouldn’t be able to escape for at least five thousand years.”

“May I ask one thing?”

“What is it, Rolando-kyun?”

Having heard her explanation, I had one simple question, so I decided to ask it straightforwardly:

“Is there a chance you could die? You, who have the nickname ‘Loli Hag of Disaster’?”

“That’s just a nickname you came up with!”

No, no. The fact that she was known as the Witch of Disaster implied that she was a formidable and feared individual. It meant that if you were to encounter her, you wouldn’t know what she might do to you.

In that sense, the Witch of Disaster and the Loli Hag of Disaster shared the same vector; there was no difference in their implications. It was an important point, so I’d say it once more: there’s no difference at all.

“Anyway, with this, we can consider this incident settled, right, Demon Lord?”

“Oh, yes. I’m truly grateful for your assistance. Thank you.”

“Oh, my, demons bowing to me and expressing gratitude. What an unexpected day.”

“Hey, when someone is thanking you, you should just accept it gracefully. Is that why you’re always late?”

“Rolando-kyun, that’s quite harsh!”

Once again, Nagartinya made a sarcastic comment, and I responded with a bit of irony. She protested with tears in her eyes. It seemed that she was concerned about still being unmarried, and I could faintly hear her say, “I would have gotten married a long time ago if I could…”

When one problem was resolved, it was natural for a new one to arise. Although Nagartinya resolved the issue with Belphegor, the conflict between the princesses Sara and Sanya still remained.

“I don’t have the face to meet those two.”

“If you explain the situation properly to them, they’ll understand. It’s not your fault.”

“Once again… buhira!”

“Don’t make me repeat the same thing.”

Belial comforted her as she hung her head. However, before Nagartinya could say anything else, I delivered a powerful lariat to her neck, rendering her unconscious. I did this to prevent any more of her reckless and troublesome behavior and to avoid keeping the feared Witch of Disaster in the demon world.

“Anyway, I’ll head back to the human realm to explain the situation to them. The rest, the sisters will discuss and resolve among themselves.”

“Understood. Please do.”

With that, I grabbed Nagartinya by her collar as she lay on her back on the ground and, along with her, teleported to my mansion’s private room. I brought her along to prevent any more insensitive or foolish actions and to avoid keeping the Witch of Disaster, who was a source of fear for the demon race, in the demon realm any longer.

“Now, stay here. I’m going to explain things to Sara and Sanya.”

“But I refuse!”

“I said no.”

“…What do you mean by ‘no’?”

I repeated the well-known line with some additional words. However, this was unexpected for her, so she questioned the intent behind my words.

“I refuse your refusal. It’s too troublesome to deal with you causing more trouble for others. Just be quiet here.”

“No, no, no, no, no, no, no! Sara is a girl’s name, isn’t it? I’ll crush every single pest that gets close to Rolando-kyun…!”

“…Don’t speak any further. And please, sleep for a while.”

I quickly moved behind the demanding Nagartinya, clasped her head, and applied a hold. I crossed my right and left arms in a crucifix shape around her neck, choking her. The purpose of this technique was to make Nagartinya lose consciousness. It was a pro wrestling move called the “choke sleeper.”

Having successfully silenced her physically, I headed to the guest room where Sara and Sanya were. There, I explained the situation to each of them and also mentioned that Saniya, who had been possessed, was struggling to face them.

“Elder sister Saniya…”

“That’s the situation. What do you want to do, Sara?”

“Even though we’re indebted to Rolando-san, saying this feels difficult, but I want to go to Saniya, elder sister, right away.”

“It’s probably better if you don’t.”

While I could understand Sara’s desire to go to Saniya, I advised her against it, considering Saniya’s feelings. Similarly, Sanya also pleaded to go to Saniya, but the three of them needed some time to reflect on themselves.

After explaining this, I returned to my room. There, Nagartinya was giving me a sulking look, puffing her cheeks.

“Jeez.”

“What’s wrong?”

“You’re such a cheater, Rolando-kyun.”

“What are you talking about?”

I gave her a bewildered look as her remarks were out of place. Such behavior was typical of couples in a romantic relationship, which didn’t apply to me and Nagartinya, who were not in such a relationship.

Grabbing her by the collar once again, I teleported us back to the original Demon Lord’s room.
