The afternoon after the fire was put out, John the doctor brought a thermometer.

Liarte, who was sitting on the bed in the treatment room, asked him.

“Do you have a cold or fever?”

“I feel the same as I always do, Young Lady.”

Liarte had no particular opinion about John, but now it was different.

The fact that he was a relatively common-sense person was enough for her to like him.

“Nevertheless, there are people who say, [What if she dies of a fever?]”.

Aaron really gave him a hard time.

To be honest, Michael and Carmen weren’t that different.

When he saw Aaron threatening him with a smile, a chill went down his spine.

John took the thermometer.

“The temperature is um…”

Her body temperature was low.

“It’s normal.”

Judging from her blood, her body temperature seemed to be the normal for water awakeners.

“There’s nothing wrong with anything else. I heard that it rained around the deep forest yesterday.”

“Yeah.”

“Please leave the treatment room now. If you have any problems, please come back.”

“Of course. I will.”

Liarte nodded and left the treatment room.

She left the building and passed through the Rose Garden.

Merlin, who was following her from behind, talked to her.

“It’s going to be summer soon.”

The bright sunlight was quite hot.

It was a season when the roses in the mansion wilt little by little.

“Do you need anything for the summer? Or something else you wish for?”

“For the summer?”

She didn’t have anything particular in mind. As she agonized, she managed to come up with something to wish for.

“I want to go to the sea.”

“Other than that? Do you need to go on an island or perhaps to a library?”

“Do you need to visit islands and libraries in the summer, Merlin?”

Merlin decided to back down at this point because the Young Lady seemed very curious.

“I asked because I wanted to have a private talk with you. I’m not that good at expressing myself.”

Cool water was flowing from the fountain and marble ornament in the front of the main building.

Liarte carefully put her hand into the running water.

BAM!-

It was then something black-colored rushed in.

The ears were about the same size as a dog.

It was a creature with black and silver hair. Liarte noticed as she looked at its long tail.

“A silver fox?”

The fox stared at her with brilliant brown eyes.

She then reached out to it, wanting to feel its fur.

The fox closed its eyes as she touched its fur, her face brightening up instantly.

“How cute. You’re very pretty.”

It was only then that Merlin remembered that Liarte liked every animal.

Even now, she’s rubbing cheek against the fox as if she’s so happy.

“Where are you from?” (L)

“This guy lives here.”

A long shadow cast over Liarte.

“Hello, Liarte.”

“Hi, Michael.”

Liarte was rarely recalled.

“Is this silver fox raised in Birce?”

“That’s right. I was originally raising it in the Rose Tower.”

Michael finally confessed the truth.

“I brought it from Elheim.”

“From Elheim?”

Something seemed to come to Liarte’s mind.

The day of the hunting competition.

“Liarte. What did you tell your twin brother to hunt?”

She answered Michael’s question in her memory.

“I asked him to bring me the silver fox alive.”

She thought she didn’t know why he asked that.

“Then this is the fox you brought back.”

“Yeah, but I was worried that it’d make you think of Elheim, and I couldn’t show it outside because I couldn’t finish training him.”

“Is it all trained now?”

“Almost there. Do you like this fox?”

Michael smiled softly.

The silver fox was supposed to be hidden from Liarte for the time being.

Because he didn’t want to remind her of her locked up life in Elheim.

The Liarte who was in Birce now and the Liarte who was trapped back in Elheim weredifferent.

A kind person with no purpose but to leave Elheim.

She looked precarious and vulnerable, as if she would die at any moment in Elheim.

“I love it. I want to be friends with it. Does this fox have a name?”

“Nope. You’re the owner.”

“Me?”

“I didn’t let anyone name it. If you insist, ‘Fox’ can be its name.”

Liarte tilted her head slightly to the side.

Michael put his hand on his throbbing chest.

The people of Birce were not very good at naming things.

The name of the fox is ‘Fox’.

The name of the birds are ’Bird’. (e/n a surprise the humans are not all called ‘Son/Daughter’)

Liarte seemed to be listening, but Michael quite sincerely called the silver fox ‘Fox’.

“Name it the name you want to give it, Liarte.”

Even though she thought about it, she couldn’t think of anything right away.

“I don’t know. I’ll slowly name the fox later.”

The silver fox glimmered at the word ‘Fox’ and put its chin on Liarte’s arm.

“Nice and pretty.”

‘If you knew how much this silver fox tore through the second floor of the Rose Tower, you wouldn’t say it’s nice.’

The fox quickly turned into a gentle sheep in front of Liarte.

Suddenly, she remembered Elheim.

She didn’t regret anything, but there was one thing she regreted.

“Did the Water Spirit King have a name?”

“You mean the one who woke up from the Spirit Stone?”

“Yes. He said he couldn’t leave the guest house because he was sealing something. He’s still in Elheim.”

Liarte remembered how happy he was when they met.

“I thought he’d say his name.”

“Do you remember anything about the name of the Spirit King?”

“Not a single thing. Because I didn’t ask. But I’m sure there was a name given to him by Jurien.”

She felt sorry for not being able to give the fox a name.

“It must be a pity.”

Michael replied to Liarte.

“The Spirit King, by any chance-”

As he was about to ask her something, he kept his mouth shut and remained silent.

‘I’m not stupid. This isn’t right.’

Originally, Michael had a strong desire for monopoly.

When he was young, he never tried to share a toy that he liked with other kids.

When Liarte mentioned the Water Spirit King, who was a man, he got a little jealous.

(tl/n okay, fragile masculinity)

It may be because he was thirsty to get a piece of Liarte’s heart.

Day by day, he felt thirstier.

“Actually, I forgot about the existence of the Water Spirit King for a moment because I like you so much.”

Liarte murmured.

“Me?”

Michael blushed at her unexpected remark. He couldn’t face her and he just looked slightly to the side.

Liarte spoke from her heart.

“I like you.”

She was comfortable with Michael. And more than that, she was nervous and excited.

Above all, he was a man who did not harm her and was very trustworthy.

She still couldn’t tell if it was love.

“I like you the most in the world, Michael.”

Even though he knew it was not a confession, Michael felt indescribable satisfaction.

It was unbearably great to see Liarte’s eyes looking at Michael only, and her pretty pink lips holding only his name.

‘Ah.’

The path was close.

In the deep forest last night, Michael tried to kiss Liarte.

Even now, he was trying not to lose his reason.

‘Why are you saying so many pretty things?’

She was like a child playing with a beast’s mouth in her hands.

She didn’t know it was dangerous so she just kept approaching him.

At that moment.

“You’re here.”

An old man with a slender body and elegant white hair appeared.

It was Alef the butler.

“Alef.”

Michael’s mood dropped because it was almost a deliberate interference.

Unlike other staff of Birce, Alef was virtuous.

“The masters have called me. They said they had something to discuss. They said that we should send the Crown Prince and Elheim a message at once.”

“The Crown Prince and Elheim?”

Liarte also knew that ‘sending them a message’ did not have a good meaning.

“First of all, please guide me.”

“I will, Young Lady.”

Alef, wearing his glasses, smiled.

There was a table for tea in the garden.

“Lili, Michael. Welcome.”

Carmen welcomed the two with a smile in his eyes.

Then he added,

“Sit here, Lili.”

“No. Sit here, Liarte.”

“You sat next to Carmen a lot. Please sit here today.” (still A)

Today’s winner was Aaron, he was joyful.

When she sat down, Carmen poured her some tea.

“You have a lot of questions.”

“You said you’d send the Crown Prince and Elheim a message, so of course.”

Michael answered instead, putting the cookies in front of Liarte.

“We thought we had to pay back the grievances.”

Carmen smiled, but his eyes were horrifying.

“The spy touched my father, and even set fire to the forest. Birce tends to return the favor, Lili.”

Carmen grinned as he spoke.

“I’m going to set the palace on fire.”

It was the face of the head of the rare villain family called Birce.
