One week later.

The sun had risen on the day of the princess' birthday festival. The crowds had gotten the festivities started early as people were woken up by the festive noises outside at the crack of dawn. A parade had been held, celebrating the kingdom of dawn and it's first princess. Roderick stood in his office watching the parade from his window; scowling at it all the while.

"I'm not a morning person at all, why do they have to be so loud? Especially on a day where I'm in such a bad mood."
Oliva yawned and answered him.

"Well you know how it is, since it's the kingdom of dawn they have to celebrate their princess' milestone from the first sight of dawn. It's tradition."

"It's a stupid tradition. I don't see why they need to make my mood any worse."

"I know you're upset about Laura but..."

Olivia trails off as Roderick lifts his hand up to stop her sentence.

"I had plans for her you know. She was going to make this place the go to spot for everyone to come to and see her fight at least once in their lives. But no, that little princess had to come in here and take that from me. What use does that princess have for Laura anyway?"
"You don't know why she wants Laura?"

"The princess never told me. When I asked her she just ignored the question and changed the topic."

"So when are you going to tell Laura?"

"Well I can either tell her before, during or after the fights, which one do you think is better?"

"I don't know, I suppose telling her before would be best."

"Her performance in the fights might suffer because of it though."

"And what if she goes out there, does her best and feels amazing about herself after those fights, then you come in, tell her she's been sold and how she needs to leave? How do you think she'd feel then?"

"Is not telling her an option?"

"Obviously not sir."

Roderick heaves a heavy sigh.

"Fine, bring Laura here. I'm going to tell her now so she can have as much time as possible to sort out her thoughts about it."

"Right away sir."

Olivia left the room and A few minutes later she came back in with Laura.

"Laura, I have something important to talk to you about. Please have a seat. I won't keep you long."

Laura sits down in her chair.

"Thank you."

Roderick sits down in the chair behind his desk and pulls out a sheet of paper.

"Laura I'm sorry but you've been purchased by Vivian Dawn and the rest of the royal family. This will be the last day you'll spend here in the Colosseum I'm afraid."

"Huh?" Laura looks confused. "What are you talking about? Are you serious?"

"Yes I am, unfortunately."

"Why?"

"I didn't have a choice Laura, they may have offered me a bunch of money and incentives for selling you but If I refused they would have made my life hell. They could burden this place with heavier taxes or shut us down outright and scoop you up afterwards. I'm not asking for forgiveness here Laura but please understand that I had no choice."

"How much did they pay you?"

"It's confidential, but it's nowhere near the amount you would have made me If you were staying."

Laura looks down at the floor, crestfallen.

"But this place accepted me. I don't wanna leave Eleonora and Avery behind."

"I'm sorry Laura, I wish I could have done more for you."

"Even If I was just a prize fighter a bunch of people looked past my demon side here. It felt like I belonged here."
She looks at Roderick with tears in her eyes.

"I don't wanna... leave."

"I'm sorry. These fights you have today will be your last in the Colosseum for the foreseeable future." Roderick walks over to Laura and places his hand on her shoulder. "Make these fights the most unforgettable ones you can; especially when you face Eleonora. Don't leave this place with more regrets than you need to have."

Roderick leaves the room and Laura clenches her teeth while her tears fall to the floor.

Ten minutes after Roderick left the office Laura opens the door and is greeted by Avery.

"Laura, what happened in there?"

Laura gives Avery a blank stare.

"I'll tell you later. Let's go."
