Laura is escorted to her room by Sigrid. The room is large and spacious, far larger than anything Laura has seen before. A room like this should house a person of nobility rather than a demon.

"This is your bedroom Miss Laura." Sigrid bows to Laura and motions for her to enter the room. Laura however, stands in the doorway with a shocked expression.

"This is my bedroom?"

Sigrid nods.

"Yes, Princess Vivian was insistent that you have the room right next to hers."

"But..."

Laura tries to protest but Sigrid holds a hand up to her before she can.

"This is Princess Vivian's order."

Sigrid firmly tells her, making sure to enunciate each word in her sentence. Laura slumps her shoulders as she doesn't have the energy to argue.

"Princess Vivian ordered it, so this is your room."

With that said Sigrid leaves the room, leaving Laura standing there. This room by itself is bigger than the house she lived in back in her village. Looking around the room again Laura notices the large canopy bed, a desk, and a large wardrobe with all of her belongings placed in front of it. There's also a large glass window with a door that leads onto a balcony.

As Laura sits down on the bed she feels exhausted. The stress of being sold, the fights, the party, the culture shock of rich people. All of it has weighed on her mind all day but now she can finally rest. As soon as she lays on the bed her eyes feel heavy and she drifts off to sleep.

*Knock knock knock*

Three soft knocks break the silence in the room causing Laura to wake and sit up with a jolt. She looks around, not recognizing the room she's in before she finally remembers where she is.

"Oh right, I'm in the castle."

Turning around she sees the light of the rising sun on the horizon.

*Knock knock knock*

"Miss Laura are you awake?"

A voice calls from the door. It sounds vaguely familiar though Laura can't place it. Opening the door she finds the maid who washed her hair yesterday standing there. The maid politely bows to Laura.

"My apologize Miss Laura but it's time to wake up."

Laura yawns.

"Five more minutes?"

"You cannot, the royal family and some guests are expecting you to appear at breakfast so you must get dressed post haste."

Looking down Laura realizes she's still wearing the dress from the party last night, which has wrinkles all over it on account of her sleeping in it.

"Okay okay, I'll hurry."

Laura shuts the door in a hurry and runs to her clothes that were brought from the colosseum when she hears another knock on the door. She runs back and opens it.

"Miss Laura the clothes you have are not suited to be worn in the presence of the royal family, I have brought some appropriate attire for you to wear."

Laura looks at the maid with a questioning gaze.

"My old clothes look fine to me."

The maid shakes her head.

"Those are the kind of clothes one might wear while working in the fields or running errands. Those are not clothes appropriate for breakfast with the king and his family."

With that the maid holds out a pair of black pants, a white blouse, and a black jacket. The maid helps her put them on.

"This feels weird." Laura complains.

"This material is the same material that knights wear under their armor, only we've reinforced it so that it would withstand more pressure from sword thrusts."

"Okay but I'm a demon so I can regenerate."

"Better safe than sorry. Also here's a pair of shoes."

The maid takes out a pair of flat shoes and hands them to Laura.

"These will do." Laura says after putting them on.

"Very good, now we must head to the dining room."

With that the two make their way to the dining room. As Laura has no clue where anything is she has to follow the maid. As soon as they reach the dining room door two guards open the door for them.

"Oh there she is." A voice exclaims in delight.

Everyone in the dining hall is staring at Laura which causes her to feel awkward.

"Laura, please come stand behind me." Vivian says.

Laura complies with the order causing many of the unknown figures sitting at the table to gasp and murmur amongst themselves.

"So as you all can see this is Laura, the half demon girl we purchased from the colosseum."

Many of the important looking people at the egregiously big table stare at Laura like she's some animal at a zoo making her feel uncomfortable. One man notices this and stands to admonish the others.

"Alright everyone that's enough staring. Can't you all see she's not used to this type of environment yet?"

Laura recognizes him, it's the man who talked to her last night and danced with Vivian. His words seem to quell the curious stares of the other people at the table.

"My apologize Duke Gifford." One man says while bowing to him.

"It's her you should apologize to, not me." He says to the man but the man just sits back down and doesn't apologize.

The room becomes enveloped in an awkward silence before the king breaks it.

"Ahem."

Everyone's attention turns to him at the head of the table.

"Shall we eat our breakfast now?"

"Yes your majesty." Everyone says in unison.

"Good then let us dig in."

Everyone at the table begins eating the lavish breakfast that looks like it would cost a fortune. Laura watches from behind Vivian hoping her stomach doesn't audibly growl since she hasn't eaten anything since last night. After about thirty minutes everyone has finished their meals and a discussion breaks out.

"Excuse me Princess Vivian." One of the important looking men speaks up. "But what was your reason for purchasing a demon girl to be a pet."

"I would also like to know why you purchased her." Duke Gifford chimes in.

Vivian looks at him confused but answers nonetheless.

"I guess it was just a whim of mine. After I heard about a demon in the colosseum I just figured I had to have her."

"But why did you purchase something so strange like a demon? You could have had anything yet you choose a demon girl to be your pet."

The fact that they're calling her a pet makes Laura feel uncomfortable.

"What about you Duke Gifford, what do you think about your fiancé obtaining such a dangerous creature?"

"Well It's certainly a strange purchase but there shouldn't be any problems as long as she has that collar around her neck."

Laura reaches up to touch the collar around her neck. It's ownership being turned over to the royal family she is unable to hurt anyone the collar's owner doesn't want her to.

"Wait Duke Gifford." Vivian interjects. "It was you who..."

Before she can finish her sentence Duke Gifford holds up a hand to stop her sentence.

"Look Vivian I know people won't look favorably upon your new pet but I do acknowledge that she could be a nice ally to have so I don't think it's a bad idea to keep her by your side. However as my future wife I will caution you to think about how your actions will affect your reputation in the future. Keeping a demon by your side will most certainly cause the ire of many citizens and especially the church to fall upon you."

There are mutters of agreement from around the table causing Laura to feel a little anxious. Once again the king interjects with a cough.

"Ahem."

Once again everyone's attention turns to the king.

"I will ask you all to please stop trying to worry Vivian. Her reputation is not something to worry about at the moment, plus everything she will no doubt achieve in the future will certainly offset any worry caused by Laura's presence."

"Are you sure about that your majesty?"

"Of course I am."

With that fatherly speech from the king everyone at the table settles down once again.

At the same time in a place far from the castle five people sit in a dimly lit room.

"Took 'em long enough to get her out of that colosseum." The first man says grumpily.

"You know they got lucky getting the princess to buy her. I heard she paid a lot of money for her."

"So where do we go from here?"

"This is a plan thirteen years in the making, those idiotic villagers threw us for a loop when they discovered her and chased her out into the woods. But we're back on schedule and I'm happy about it."

"Yeah I wasn't expecting her to grow her horns earlier than expected. Plus we lost Rita too, which is a shame since she was so devoted to our cause."

One of the figures starts to snicker.

"Devoted enough to give birth to a half demon child. You wouldn't catch me doing that, especially with all the sacrifices it took."

"That's just because you're not devoted enough to the cause. You need to get your faith together."

The snickering figure stops snickering and shrugs.

"I talked to Rita after the birth, she said she felt like she was dying a hundred times over. I guess you'd have to be one crazy bitch to go through with that willingly."

"Well If we don't fulfill our mission and get Laura then you'll be the once giving birth to a new demon and we'll be part of the sacrifices to make it happen."

"If we survive this you mean."

The five figures pour five glasses of wine and toast.

"All hail the Primordial Demon!"

At the same time in a brightly lit church in the Kingdom of Dawn a priest consoles a crying woman.

"I'm sorry dear you must have loved your brother dearly."

The woman nods sadly.

"Yes, he was the only family I had left, now I'm all alone."

"Don't worry, we're never truly alone. The Goddess Delva loves all, even in her deep slumber she still provides a home for the lost."
The woman break down in tears.

"It's all the goddamn demon's fault."

The priest cracks a smile as the woman utters those words.

"Yes yes it's all the demon's fault, if the demons didn't exist then your family would still be alive. Tell me my child, do you want to destroy the demons?"

The woman nods.

"Well consider joining the church of Delva. It is our mission to eradicate the demons. I'll give you some time to think about it."

"I don't even need time to think about it. Let me kill the demons."

"I like your attitude miss Marie."
