We took the train to a place that connected one of Japan’s largest office districts, consisting of a shopping district full of commercial facilities. I had wondered if there was a planetarium in such a place, but Kaede told me that it had opened recently.

“It seems that the selling point is that by projecting images from the floor to the ceiling, you can experience a high resolution dome image with an unprecedented sense of immersion. As expected of the world’s leading planetarium equipment manufacturer… !”

“No, is that what makes you shudder. Well, I’m sure it’s amazing. And on top of that, you have a custom-made pair of seats, right?”

“Yes! I heard that they pursued a seating comfort that makes you feel like you’re drifting through space in a relaxed manner. I can’t stop being excited!”

Kaede had been a high-spirited, good-tempered butterfly throughout. I’d hold her hand tightly so she didn’t blow away in the shimmering wind.

“Yuya-kun, please don’t let go of that hand, okay? Well, I have no intention of letting go or leaving.”

“I don’t feel like it either. It’s just that if I don’t get a good grip on her, Kaede is likely to go out of control and go somewhere else soon.”

“Hey, Yuya-kun. What do you think I am? Can you please stop talking about me like I’m a runaway locomotive? It’s out of my mind.”

Kaede puffed up her cheeks to show she was angry. No, if I leave you alone, you’ll immediately venture to your fantasy world. And since it’s a strangely realistic fantasy and I’m not letting you slip, or else I don’t know how to react.

“It’s rude to call me delusional! What I’m doing is not delusional, it’s my future vision! I’m just seeing a future that could happen!”

“So it’s avoidable, right? Then nothing will happen unless I take action.”

“You can’t kill me off like that!?”

She instantly got teary-eyed and protested by pulling my arm while buzzing, but please give her a break. As you could see from her fantasy of an amusement park date, Kaede’s fantasies were strangely concrete and realistic. She was always on the edge of the line of thinking, “Oh, I could do that.” That was why the quality turned even worse.

“But I know someone, he is a person who would grant me my wishes.”

“Aah… that’s Kaede. You know everything about me, don’t you! But that’s ridiculous!? I’m not so sweet!!?”

“Mou, I can’t help it. If you say so, Yuya-kun, you can fantasize with me too, okay? I’ll make that fantasy come true for you! That makes it an even, equivalent exchange!”

That seemed right. Kaede was going to make my fantasy come true. That might be possible, but I think just being called master in a maid’s uniform was more than enough. I’m more than happy just to be in an environment where we live together (and later get married). So I don’t need anything special. Oh, but I’d still like to see her in a maid’s uniform at home.

“Fufu. I understand. I’ll wear it again when I get home. Please look forward to it, okay?”

“Yeah. I’m looking forward to it.”

“Ehehe. Then my request to you is to re-enact your confession of love while watching the show in the planetarium. Come on, let’s go!”

Eh, are you serious, Kaede? Are you trying to make me say that line again? Don’t just pull my arm and move forward! I need something called determination too!

*****

My appeal never reached Kaede, and before I knew it, the checkout and ticket exchange were complete, and I found myself inside the planetarium dome theater.

“These are the special seats that are rumored to be so comfortable that you feel like you’re drifting through space! Yuya-kun, are you ready to jump in!?”

Kaede’s eyes sparkled with excitement as she stood in front of the couple’s seat. But to be honest, I’m also curious to see how comfortable the seats were. As far as I could find out on the moving train, these seats are a special limited edition of only five. It looks as white as a cloud in the blue sky, and even without sitting on it, I can understand how fluffy and puffy it would be. It looks like a funicular cloud.

“No, I know how you feel, but you can’t jump in, it’s dangerous. Come on, let’s sit together.”

I held out my hand to Kaede, who was nearing the end of her patience and starting to sniffle. I was embarrassed, but I wanted to sit with her on this cloud.

“Let’s go then… eh—!”

At the sound of Kaede’s cute voice, I jumped onto the seat. At that moment, I felt a strange sensation as if my body was floating softly.

“It’s amazing! It feels like I’m sinking in forever, yet my body remains stable! It’s the ultimate in cushions that ruin people!”

“I don’t know, I’ve never sat on a cushion that ruins people, but this one is amazing. If I lay down, I’m not going to be able to get up.”

“But since we’re here, let’s watch it lying down! It’s definitely more fun that way!”

Kaede then jumped on me and pushed me straight down.

“Fufu. Can I just squirm and watch it? It’s good, right? I don’t want to hear the answer!”

“No, it’s fine. It’s fine, but I think you should wait until after the show starts? It’s still lights out, so the other guests can see you, and it’s embarrassing.”

If this had been home, of course I would have hugged Kaede without hesitation. But this was a planetarium, and it was still light in the hall before the show. It would be so embarrassing to hug each other in such a situation that fire would burst out of my face.

“… yeah, I guess so. You’re right… yes. I will reflect on this.”

Kaede’s face turned bright red as she sat upright on the seat and turned over. If you would look closely, you could see the redness extending not only to her ears but also to her neck. I guess she was really embarrassed.

“Uuh… because I wanted to hug Yuya-kun. I just got carried away.”

“That’s right. You just got carried away, didn’t you? Okay, okay, cheer up. You can give me a big hug when the screening starts.”

I stroked Kaede’s head gently, as if I were soothing a depressed child. I know it was not right to spoil her like this, but she was so cute that I just wanted to pet her. Cuteness was justice.

“Ehehe. I can’t wait for it to start. I can’t wait to see the starry sky while squeezing Yuya-kun!”

It looked so cute when you felt depressed and then she immediately cheered up and gave me a sly smile. Thinking about this, I continued to pet Kaede until the screening started.
