After spending the day with Molly, I returned home where I saw a carriage outside the house, it had our family symbol in it but it wasn't really in a good shape, "What happened to that carriage." I said to myself.
I went near the carriage, but there wasn't anyone in it, even the inside of it was broken and smashed down with blood stains here and there. Who must have been in there.....If it's our family carriage then could it be.....without even thinking for another second I ran inside the mansion.
"My Lady you are back..." A maid said with a surprised expression on her face as she wiped off her tears.
"Why are you crying....." I asked her, she didn't reply nor did she look at my face.
"Why aren't you replying....." I asked her, "My Lady...please go upstairs and rest for a while." She said changing the subject.
"No first tell me why are you crying and....." I was about to tell her something when I noticed blood stains on the floor which weren't visible due to the red carpet on layed on the floor.
"Who...Whose blood is that...." I asked her in between of my stuttering.
"My Lady that's....that's.. ..." The maid wasn't able to say anything instead she started crying.
"If you won't tell then its fine I will go upstairs and watch it for myself." I said as I started walking up the stairs.
"My Lady please listen to me." The maid said trying to stop me.
"NO I won't!" I said as I glared at her.
I went towards father's room and as I thought there were many servants, doctors outside his room. Everyone looked sad and helpless.
I went towards the room and everyone stared looking at me, "Look isn't she the eldest daughter of the lord." A boy said maybe he works with father since I have never seen him before."My Lady!!" The servants gasped.
"Open the door!" I said to the guards standing beside the door.
"My Lady please stay here..." One of the guard said, "Stay here...Are you ordering me now I said open the door right now!!" I said angrily.
"But....my lady...." The guard said.
"I won't repeat myself!" I said as I looked at his eyes.
"Yes! Yes my lady!" He said as he opened the door, And inside I saw the thing I was afraid of
"....MO...Mother.." I said in a low voice as I looked at my mother who was lying unconscious on the bed with blood none stop flowing from her forehead, and a bloodstained dress. With cuts over her arms and legs.
"Irene what are you doing here?" Father asked as he came towards me, his eyes were red and his hands were shaking, but still he tried keeping a strong font infront of me.
"Father....What happened to mother....why...why is she like that...." I asked him as I holded his sleeves tightly. Father didn't say anything.
"Father.....Mother...Mother is alright right....see she is Breathing.....If I will call her....she will wake...up..." I said as I looked at Mother.
"Father see I am going to call her..." I said as I went near her, "Irene..." Father said as he looked at me.
"Mother....See I am here...to greet you...Mother I missed you so much in the last few weeks...I really missed you.....so Mother please wake up....Mother...Mother..." I said as I bit my lower lip, trying to control my tears.
"Mother....please wake up..." I said as I holded her hand firmly.
"Irene..." Father said as he hugged me and patted my back, "Father...Mother..." I said, "Irene...My Daughter please be strong." Father said softly.
"Father...why are you talking like that....why..Mother is breathing....she will wake up...." I said as I looked at father. "Irene...your mother won't wake up for a while or maybe....she might never wake up...." Father said as he trembled and tears started flowing down his eyes.
"What does it mean?" I asked looking at him,
"My Lady because of the carriage accident, she got hurt mostly in her head and also she lost most of her blood and by the time she reached here the oxygen level of her body decreased a lot which is why she is in a persistent vegetative state right now.....in simple sentence She is in coma right now.....and we are unsure about if she will ever regain her consciousness..." The physician said.
"Coma....Mother...." I murmured as thousands of feelings ran through my mind and heart.
That sentence made me feel as if someone was crushing my heart, it tightened to that extent that I wasn't able to breathe right, my Brain wasn't able to understand anything. My surrounding felt hazzy and my legs gave out, I slumped down on the cold floor. "IRENE!!" Father said tried to hold me. "Irene my child speak up...Please say something...IRENE!!" Father said as he shaked me up trying to bring me back to my senses.
I looked at his face and then again at Mother who was lying there on the bed. "Father..." I murmured as a tear rolled down my eyes.
"Yes Irene..." Father said as he holded my hands.
"Father please tell Mother to wake up!! Please tell her to talk with me!!!FATHER!!" I screamed my heart out as I bursted out in tears. "TELL HER TO WAKE UP!!! PLEASE!!! Mother please wake up..." I screamed as Father tightly holded me. "Irene calm down...." Father said as he tried to calm me down. At that moment a thought crossed my mind, "Father where is Ash?" I asked him.
".....Ash he locked himself into his room....He was shocked to see your mother in that condition...." Father said. Ash how scared and broken he must me feeling now.....I need to look after him but right now....How do I face him....what shall I tell him.....
I thought all that as I bit my lower lip, "Irene...Don't lose hope, go and look after your brother...He needs you the most right now." Father said as he looked at me.
"Ash needs me.....but mother..." I said as I looked at Mother breathing slowly.
"Irene we are here with her but Ash is alone.....And if she was awake she would tell you to do the same too." Father said as he stroked my hair.
"Yes, I understand..." I said as I turned around and ran towards Ash room. Servants were waiting outside with a worried face.
"My Lady!!!" They said as they looked towards me.
"Please leave us alone...." I said without looking at them, and without any question they did as I said.
I took a deep breath and knocked at the door, but there was no reply. "Ash...it's me....won't you open the door please...." I said.
But still there was no reply. "Ash....Open the door please..." I said trying to control my tears.
"Ash.....Are you not going to respond to me too...." I said as I touched the door, after that I could hear footsteps coming towards the door from inside and *Click* The door opened.
"Sister....." Ash said with his big red eyes and uneven hair. His room was all messed up. "Ash..." I said as I kneeled down and hugged him tightly.
"....Sis...Sister Mother isn't talking anymore...She was covered in blood...." Ash said as he started crying. "Ash mother is all right." I said as I patted him.
"Then why isn't she waking up...."Ash asked.
"She was hurted badly so she must take lots of rest to recover which is why she might not wake up for a while." I said as I rubbed off his tears.
"Sister how long will it take for her to wake up." Ash Asked looking at me. "I can't say it maybe a week, or a month or maybe a year..." I said looking at him.
"...Sister what if....what if....Mother never wakes up...." Ash said as he looked at me with teary eyes.
" Ash mother will wake up, don't lose hope okay." I said as I smiled towards him.
"You promise Sister." He asked as he forwarded his little finger towards me.
At that time the physicians words came in my mind "We never know if she will ever regain consciousness"
I gulped as I smiled towards Ash and forwarded my little finger, "I promise!" I said as a small smile appeared on his face like he knew I was just trying to coax him. "I believe you Sister." He said as he hugged me.
After that Father came into the room, "Father both of us said. As we ran towards him. And he gave us a little reassuring smile. "Lets all of wait for her to wake up...okay.." He said as he patted our head.
"Yes..." Both me and Ash said as we smiled towards him.
That accident turned our whole world upside down but little did we know that this was just the start.....
