“I warned you, Child, we are not the same.”, Cole said as he approached Hades as the deity lay on the ground unable to move, “You could have surrendered and had a quick death. What happens now is because of your stubbornness and refusal to concede to your better.”

“Protect our Lord!!”, Zeno commanded the other Reapers, “Do not let him reach Lord Hades!!”

Turning their backs on Odin and Zeus’ men, the Reapers ran at Cole trying to drive him back. Launching volleys of spells at him, nothing came within five feet of Cole before breaking apart. Disassembling each spell that came near him, Cole kept walking forward with an expressionless gaze. Discovering that their magic was ineffective against him, a few Reapers lept at him with their scythes already swinging at his throat. Getting within three feet of Cole, their bodies suddenly went limp as the fighters died instantly.

Stopping their assault immediately, as their brethren crumpled to the ground, Zeno watched their souls leave them with confused expressions. Unable to understand what had happened to them, all of the deceased began cursing Cole for whatever magic he had used. Stopping his advance for a moment, Cole reached into his pocket and pulled out a pink gemstone that no one had seen before. Taken in by its mesmerizing beauty for a moment, the attractiveness quickly faded as it began pulling in the deceased Reapers’ souls.

Pulled in before they knew what was happening only the last few managed to get a scream out before disappearing completely. As they vanished from existence, a vast amount of mana started radiating from the gemstone which made Zeno incredibly nervous. Getting a sense of what was going to happen to them in the near future, he hoped that he was wrong.

“What did you do to them!?”, Zeno shouted as his arms began shaking, “Where did you send our comrades!?.”

“Simply put, I converted their souls into mana for future enchanting projects.”, Cole informed him as he tucked the stone into his pocket, “There is no reincarnation for souls I do this on, they are completely removed from the cycle of life. Their sacrifices will give birth to countless magical items in the future…as will your souls. Only Hades’ soul has a different fate waiting for it, most of you will be used to mend the damages you have caused the Devils.”

Realizing that Cole was going to reduce them to a power source for enchanting, many weak-willed Reapers turned to flee for their lives. Not wanting to be stripped of their souls and fade into nothingness, their survival instinct overwhelmed their loyalty to Hades. Getting only a few feet away from where they began, Cole used his magic to keep them in place.

“Kneel.”, Cole commanded them as he applied a small amount of mana to his words.

Overcome by an unknown force, the Reapers fell to their knees in shock. No longer in control of their own bodies, they attempted to break free but could not move. Looking at the other Greek deities with fear in their eyes, all of them wanted to be saved from this fate. Feeling the desperation in their gazes, Eleos felt the need to try and save some of them. She believed that they were simply following orders, and could not go against Hades.

“Lord Cole, please show them mercy.”, Eleos pleaded as she cautiously approached, “Destroying their souls and snuffing them from existence is too cruel. They deserve a chance at earning redemption, even if it takes them a few thousand years to do so. I beg of you, spare these-”

With a wave of Cole’s staff, Eleos exploded into a cloud of dust midsentence. While certainly not on Hades' level, Eleos was among the stronger members of the Pantheon. To die so suddenly with just a wave of a hand, Ares almost wet himself with terror. Understanding that he had severely underestimated Cole’s power, he prayed to Zeus that Cole did not use that power on them.

“You look on at these animals and beg me to spare them all while destroyed families weep around you. None of you deserve to hold the title of Gods!”, Cole proclaimed as his magical pressure knocked the wind out of everyone, “Innocent bystanders lay dying all around us who had nothing to do with this, and you so causally turn away from their suffering. You came here today not to save the innocent, but to spare yourself my wrath and anger. Remain silent till I am finished, or there will be one less Pantheon in this universe. All of you will be erased from history with just a thought!”

Taking his threat seriously, the deities kept their mouths shut and did not look at the Reapers any longer. Resuming his brutal slaughter of the Reapers, Cole left piles of their bodies in his wake as he advanced on Hades. Getting to his feet by the time Cole arrived in front of him, Hades looked on at the mountain of dead behind Cole. Wanting to kill him for this, the deity stopped himself because he acknowledged there was nothing he could do.

Having had his strongest spells brushed off like mosquitos, his pride had taken a severe beating along with his physical body. Ready to slink back to his realm as just a Soul, he swore he would come back with vengeance against Cole. For now though, he wanted this embarrassment to be over with so he could begin recovering.

“Just get this over with!”, Hades seethed.

Smacking him across the face with his staff, Cole rammed the tip into Hades’ gut forcing him back to his knees. Placing his boot on the back of Hades’ head, he smashed his face into the ground with the assistance of Gravity Magic.

“Your actions against the Devils, Youkai, and other smaller factions fills me with dismay. Till now you have done as you pleased with impunity because your family did not have the backbone to set straight. While your actions are your own, they share part of the blame for this.”, Cole said as several magic circles appeared around Hades, “I will teach you the meaning of the words despair, suffering, and eternal torment. By the time your punishment is over, it will be engraved on your soul so you never forget it.”

Cole had a fitting punishment in mind for the God of the Underworld, and it started by turning him into a normal human. Stripping him of all his Divinity and power, Hades would no longer be able to threaten or harm anyone again. Cursing him with Perpetual Reincarnation, he would be tormented with remaining in a human body for the rest of this universe’s lifespan. Waiting for his human body to completely form, Cole kicked him away straight to Lord Sitri’s feet.

“Today marks the end of Lord Hades, God of the Underworld. From now on you will be known as the Beggar Hades among humanity, and a beggar you shall remain till the end of time. No longer will you enjoy the privileges of godhood or the powers you once wielded, you will barely scrap by and survive on the crumbs of your betters.”, Cole told him as Hades' face turned into a scowl.

“You bastard!!”, Hades howled as he got up, “Why will you not just kill me!?”

“It is no longer my place to do so, there are many more deserving that should take your head moving forward. I will not stop them from smothering you in your crib, collapsing a building on top of you, poisoning your food, or killing you the moment you start to experience a tiny slice of happiness.”, Cole informed him with a cold glare, “Believe me, if the Devils do not get to you first…the Youkai will track you down and skin you alive. After all, you did the same for centuries to their families and kept them as trophies.”

Blinded by anger, Hades barely took a few steps before Lord Sitri plunged his sword through his heart. Seeing his own blood gushing from the wound for the first time in his miserable life, Hades did not know how to react. Looking back at his assailant, Hades shouted that House Sitri would rue this day for centuries to come.

“I do not know how you intend to carry that out, your siblings will not dare show you any kindness or leniency. If they were to make such a foolish mistake…there would be one less Pantheon in his universe.”, Cole assured him as he eyed Zeus, “Am I being crystal clear here, or do you need a refresher.”

“NO!!”, Zeus almost screamed, “We will not aid or provide any support to Hades, I give you my word! Anyone who does will be severely punished!!”

“I am glad to hear that you are a reasonable man.”, Cole chuckled with amusement, “Now then Hades, I hope you never have the misfortune of crossing paths with me again.”

Pulling his blade out before Hades could respond, Lord Sitri let loose a flurry of slashes that turned the human Hades into sashimi. Destroying the remains of the Grim Reapers with their Destruction Aura, Zekram and Sirzechs began cleaning up the mess. Hoping that Cole would be kind enough to let them go, Zeus was ready to offer him whatever he wanted to escape punishment.

“Listen carefully, all of the corpses and hides that Hades has kept need to be returned to their respective factions. I care not about the repercussions you will face for this because it was your brother that committed such heinous acts upon them.”, Cole stated before looking to Odin, “As for you…you have my thanks for convincing these idiots to come here to aid the Devils. I would like to discuss formally establishing trade with your Faction and my territories. We can discuss the details over a couple mugs of ale in the near future.”

“Sounds like a plan to me, will there be beautiful women involved?”, Odin asked.

“Haha, we can see about that.”, Cole laughed as he shifted back to his normal appearance, “I can see if I can locate a few women that enjoy your taste of sampling multiple partners. Just be warned, they may be more than you bargained for.”

Teleporting them back to their respective realms, Cole turned to Lord Sitri who was surveying the damage. Having already decided to cut him a break today, since he genuinely cared about his people, Coles used the spell Chrono Reversal to rewind the clock on the city. Undoing the carnage and structural damage, his civilians reverted back to moments before their untimely demise. Watching them spring back to life, Lord Sitri screamed like a little girl as he jumped backward.

“How did you do that!?”, Ajuka questioned as he ran over to Cole, “I have never seen a spell like that before.”

“It is a Unique Spell that I created centuries ago, it forcibly turns back the hands of time on both living and nonliving entities.”, Cole replied pulling the gemstone out, “The spell uses this gemstone as a catalyst, otherwise, the caster will draw off their own life span. They may have a few flashbacks of what happened, but it should not be anything overly burdensome to them. You Devils appear to have a better mental fortitude than most do.”

“I thank you from the bottom of my heart!”, Lord Sitri said bowing his head to Cole, “Words cannot express how grateful I am to you for this.”

“It is no problem, now that the trouble has passed let us tend to Lilith. She should be safe from any further danger now.”, Cole commented as he turned and headed back to the castle.
