—Mount Olympus—

Calling a meeting with his wingman and drinking buddy Zeus, Odin informed him that he had critical information to give him. Knowing that Hermes was off mingling with humans on Earth, Odin wanted to make sure his friend knew what was happening in the Underworld. Agreeing to the sudden meeting, even though it cut into his tail chasing, Zeus greeted Odin and Thor as they arrived.

“Haha, it is good to see you again!”, Zeus chuckled as he shook Odin’s hand, “Your boy has become a fine man, just like my son Hercules!”

“Thank you for the warm greetings, old friend.”, Oden said with a serious expression, “I apologize but please gather all of your siblings at once, there is trouble brewing in the Underworld.”

Concerned that this might have something to do with Hades, Zeus immediately sent word to his other siblings to gather in the Great Hall. Showing the two of them the way there, as they arrived, the last few free deities walked in with irritated expressions. Voicing their discontent about his abrupt summons, all of them were frustrated that they were being pulled away from their work. Demanding to know what was so important that they had to drop what they were doing to come here, Poseidon wanted answers immediately.

“Odin and Thor bring news of trouble brewing in the Underworld.”, Zeus explained to his brother, “I am not sure what is going on, but Odin wanted everyone together for this meeting.”

“Are the Devils foolishly breaking the Ceasefire again? I thought the beating Cole gave them would have kept them in check for several thousand years, but I guess they are far stupider than I gave them credit for.”, Ares said with a sigh, “Our troop count is low, and we have yet to begin replenishment. If you are asking us to help discipline them, we will be of little assistance at the moment.”

“It is Hades, he is currently assaulting a major Devil city in the Underworld.”, Odin informed them, “My sources have told me that he has led a large host of Grim Reapers and soldiers into Lord Sitri’s Territory. I came here to inform you of this in hopes you could persuade him to fall back. If nothing is done, it will end very badly for your Pantheon.”

“Hades…you are certain that your sources are not playing you for a fool? Hades hardly leaves his realm and does not interact with any other factions. Believe me, I have tried several times to convince him to come to our various meetings with other groups. Every time I do, he tells me that he is too busy or cannot be bothered to deal with idiots.”, Athena commented with a frustrated expression, “This is the only reason we were called here? Stop wasting our time!”

Looking at Odin skeptically most of the Greek Pantheon were not convinced, save for Zeus. Letting out a frustrated sigh, he regretted not nipping this in the bud sooner to prevent future issues with the Devils. Realizing his procrastination had led to this, he felt bad for the civilians who were likely being killed. While he was not fond of the Nobles, he did share Cole’s opinion that civilians should be left alone.

“That is not entirely true…he did have cordial relations with Lucifer’s son Rizevim.”, Zeus admitted to his siblings, “Hermes informed me some time ago that the two of them were performing unspeakable experiments on members of other factions. At the time, we were neck-deep in the war so I could not go and deal with it. I was a fool for believing that Rizevim’s death would erase their alliance.”

“...he did not touch the Youkai did he!?”, Hephaestus gasped realizing what that would result in, “We will not survive Cole’s wrath if he comes here!! He already blew a hole in Olympus when he killed Rizevim!!”

“That should be the least of your worries.”, Thor remarked, “The Devils surprisingly bowed their head to him, and asked for his aid in treating Lilith. While he was doing that, Hades launched his assault on the city and ended up running into Cole. We are not sure what the Devils offered him, but he is siding with them. Hades and Cole are both battling one another now…and it does not appear to be going well for Hades.”

“While his reasoning for the attack is unclear, based on what you said, he is likely after the remaining research Rizevim had in his possession.”, Odin stated.

Seeing the color drain from their faces, the deities immediately flew into a panic. Shouting that Hades had doomed their Pantheon, Zeus watched his siblings flounder around aimlessly in panic. Knowing that they still had a chance to show they did not support Hades’ attack, he knew what needed to be done.

“All of you stop!”, Zeus commanded, “We need to go down there, and offer our help to the Devils. If we show Cole that we do not support this attack, all of us may be spared his wrath. While it is a long shot, I refuse to sit here waiting for that Beast to come here to punish us for Hades' stupidity.”

“Agreed, that is a sound idea!”, Athena acknowledged as she began to leave the room, “I will round up as many soldiers as I can!”

“Same here!”, Ares added as he ran off, “If Hades somehow is alive after this, I will personally wring his neck!!”

“We will leave together then, my people are already gathering soldiers to go down there as well.”, Odin said placing his hand on Zeus’ shoulder, “While I may not have a political reason to help, I want to be able to continue drinking with you and getting into more mischief. I could not ask for a better wingman when at a tavern!”

Watching the two of them start laughing, Thor decided to have a laugh at his dad’s expense. Since the two of them were close, he knew the statement he wanted to make would not ruin anything…just cost his dad a few pints of mead.

“Father, what I think you meant to say is you do not want another hole in Asgard.”, Thor stated wanting a bit of payback for claiming it was his fault initially, “You should not lie to your friends like that.”

“Damn it boy, do not say that aloud!”, Odin huffed hitting his son’s arm, “We should be focusing on organizing our manpower! I will open a Bifrost Bridge to Asgard to bring our men over, once your brethren are ready, we will head down immediately.”

—Underworld—

“Lord Sitri, please help us!!”, dozens of citizens shouted as the Grim Reapers tore through everyone they could find, “HELP US!!!”

“Stay away from our people!”, Lady Sitri shouted as a wall of violet ice encased several Reapers, “Keep going, get away from the city!! Do not look back!!”

Fighting an uphill battle against the Grim Reapers, they were simply too fast for the majority of House Sitri’s men to keep up with. Watching them dance around the city like they owned the place, the casualties were one sidely piling up on the Devil's side. Seeing people he knew and cared about being butchered all around the city, Lord Sitri’s rage start to boil over.

Releasing a torrent of spells on the Reapers, Sitri began fighting them himself and leaving his people without a leader. Realizing that his colleague was slipping into a blood rage, Zekram knew he had to bring him back before it was too late. If nothing was done their fragile defensive line would collapse and there would be nothing left to save when reinforcements arrived.

“Lord Sitri, calm yourself!”, Zekram scolded him, “Lord Agares and Vassago will not be here for another thirty minutes with reinforcements, we need to hold out till they arrive or Cole prevails over Hades. To do that, your people and men need you to maintain a cool head. Do not let your anger cloud your judgment!”

“I know that!”, Lord Sitri seethed as he roasted several Reapers instantly, “I…I just cannot continue to watch my people be slaughtered like animals! Some of these people I have watched grow up from the day they were born!”

Desperately thinking of any way to save his people, a bright light suddenly dropped down onto the city. Realizing that a Bifrost Bridge had opened up, they watched hundreds of troops from both the Greek and Asgard Pantheons pour out of it. Thinking the enemy was receiving further reinforcements, Sirzechs flew down ready to use the full extent of his destructive power to kill them all.

“Do not attack us, we are here to help you!”, Thor proclaimed as he leaped out of the Bifrost and crush several Reapers at once, “Focus on getting your people to safety, we will take care of the Reapers.”

“Why would you help us? We were enemies not more than a few weeks ago.”, Zekram pointed out cautious of accepting their aid.

“We are here at my request.”, Zeus answered as he appeared on the battlefield, “Olympus does not condone Hades’ attack this day. As Thor said, please prioritize the evacuation of your people. I do not want more innocent blood spilled today, Cole’s wrath will destroy Olympus if this does not end soon.”

Understanding what Zeus was trying to do, the Devils accepted their aid and refocused their efforts. Ordering his soldiers to focus on guarding groups of civilians, instead of engaging the Reapers, things began to turn around quickly. Beginning to push Hades’ forces back as a united front, Hades' men began calling out for his aid but that would never come.

Watching an intense beam of light drop from the sky, it slammed down onto Sitri’s Castles as Hades’ death throes echoed through the city. Hearing their sibling's screams of agony, Hades suddenly came shooting out of the light and slammed into his own men. Watching them explode like broken wine bottles, Zeus was the first to see how bad of a shape Hades was in.

Seeing his fractured skeletal body and obliterated armor, he never expected to see Hades in such a bad way. Looking up to find an older man approaching them with an ornate green cloak and otherworldly looking staff, Zeus could feel the power radiating from him and felt his core shake with fear. Seeing not a scratch or scuff on him, Odin understood just how big of a difference there was between Hades and Cole.
