“All of you ready for this?”, I inquired looking the Heroes and their parties over, “Remember, first impressions set the tone for events like this. Give any man you greet a firm handshake, and speak clearly when speaking with them. I know all of you generally do this already but nobles are sticklers when it comes to this.”

“Right!”, the Heroes said fixing their collars.

“Naofumi, you are messing it up.”, Senko scolded him, “Let me fix it for you again.”

Pulling him close to fix his collar, I noticed that he turned a bit red as he caught a whiff of her perfume. It was the first time I had seen him have such a reaction to a member of his party, and it was a good step in the right direction for her. That said, the other members of his party were having less success with their efforts and were standing close by puffing their cheeks out in frustration.

‘What did you expect, she’s the only one that has made her interest in him clear. She verbally told him she was interested and didn’t take the passive-aggressive approach you all are taking.’, I thought slightly annoyed, ‘Nothing is worse than a woman that can’t be straightforward with a man, not all of us are mind readers!’

“Anything else we should know?”, Motoyusa questioned with an excited look.

“Please pay close attention to what you say and do with any women that approach you.”, Mirellia warned him, “You will find that in every nation you go to there will be many women trying to win your affection. If you aren’t prepared to take them as concubines or lovers, do not engage in any questionable actions with them.”

Looking at Motoyusa, the other Three Heroes knew who that was mainly aimed at. Giving them a confused look, he didn’t seem to understand why they were looking at him. Shrugging it off, they promised to keep that in mind during the banquet. Trusting that Motoyusa would think with his head instead of his dick, I opened a portal to Siltvelt for us.

“Please see that Melty is protected during this party, not all the Siltvelt Nobility is happy about our recent advances towards peace. They may try to ruin this progress by harming her.”, Mirellia told me as she pushed her daughter forward, “I appreciate you taking her with you, she needs to learn politics if she is to succeed me.”

“Haha, you can say that all you want but she is already well-versed thanks to your prolonged conference. I am no fool, using your daughter to try and control the women who approach me…you are quite a tricky woman.”, I chuckled calling her plan out with a smile, “While I understand why you are doing this, I prefer mature women…not children.”

For a brief moment, I thought I saw her blush but she quickly turned around promising to keep that in mind next time. Following her with my eyes for a moment, Melty stepped on my foot and reminded me that her mother was spoken for. Telling her I was well aware of that, I also said there was no harm in admiring from afar.

“Also I am not a child, I am a woman!”, Melty protested as she took my right arm.

“As far as this world is concerned you might be, however…to me you are a child. I have a son who is close to you in age, you aren’t even on my radar.”, I said shooting that down immediately, “When he is older, you have my permission to pursue a relationship with him. You are a good girl with a great head on your shoulders, I can’t think of someone I’d rather have as a daughter-in-law.”

“I…I see, I will keep that in mind.”, she said blushing with embarrassment.

Advancing through the portal, I wanted to make sure we arrived early to prepare for the coming fight. The Heroes may think I am exaggerating things, but they will quickly learn that all things are fair on the political battlefield. Having lived through five different lifetimes of these interactions, I knew that women will do almost anything to help put their families ahead.

—Siltvelt Capital—

Walking into an elegant banquet hall, we arrived just as the nobility started trickling in. Suggesting the four Heroes grab a beverage before things got hectic, they did as I suggested and spread out around the room. Taking seats at empty tables, it wasn’t more than five minutes before women started flocking to them. Smelling their perfume from over forty feet away, I was surprised at how thirsty some of these girls were for the Heroes.

“So when you attended parties like this in otherworlds, did women flock to you like this?”, Melty asked as we grabbed drinks.

“Oh yes, everyone from Royal Families to Merchants tried to curry favor using women.”, I remarked as I handed her some water, “I hated attending parties like this as women would throw themselves at me all the time. Sure it was a nice ego stroker the first few times, but ultimately it became bothersome for me. Those women wanted the title, not the man that held the title.”

“I see, that sounds like something you would say.”, she laughed with a smile, “I think you are one of the few nobles in our nation that thinks that way. The majority would sate their lustful urges, and walk away after having used them… as they did with my sister. Your wives are fortunate to have such a faithful husband.”

I wanted to tell her that my wives kept me happy in bed so there was no reason to look elsewhere, but I felt that was inappropriate to say given her age. Keeping that comment to myself, I opened a portal home to check on my wives who were finishing getting ready. While my head was poked through talking with them, I felt Melty tug on my cuff. Pulling my head through to see what was wrong, I saw Renjo and several women walking over to us.

“Cole, glad you could make it!”, Renjo laughed as he vigorously shook my hand, “I wanted to introduce my wives to yours, where are they?”

Widening the portal so they could enter, my wives walked through in their dresses. Having spent hours shopping for clothing just for this event, they had gone all out given that I was a very powerful noble. Their dresses softly hugged all their curves further highlighting the natural assets that each of them had. Sneaking a peek at their backsides, it was safe to say it would be a long night tonight after the banquet.

“My word, where did you get your dresses from!?”, one of his wives demanded of Sapphire., “You must tell me where to find them, it is simply breathtaking.”

“One of our seamstresses made this for us.”, Sapphire proudly proclaimed, “Our dresses are made of rare magical metal, silk, and satin. This dress is probably the most comfortable one I have worn in decades.”

Closing the portal behind the last of them as they came through, Renjo pulled me aside to talk while the women discussed their clothing. Receiving wine from one of the waiters as we strolled by, the two of us walked out onto the balcony to talk.

“I hear construction on your territory is nearly complete.”, Renjo said taking a sip, “We thought it was a rumor till one of our merchants returned informing us that it was true. It is amazing how quickly you constructed all of those cities and villages.”

“I can’t take credit for everything, our hardworking craftsmen and laborers are the ones that made it possible. Without their help, we wouldn’t have reached this point.”, I stated looking out over the castle grounds and city below, “You didn’t invite me out onto the balcony to just discuss my territory, is something wrong?”

“Haha, I suppose it was pretty obvious.”, he laughed dryly, “Lots of changes are happening in Siltvelt, and not all parties involved are happy about it. Many prominent nobles aren’t willing to change things to achieve the peace many of our citizens want. They are adamant about not mending relations with Shieldfreeden and Melromarc, they feel there is no need to given their past transgressions against us.”

Understanding where they were coming from, I wasn’t the least bit surprised they were resisting this. Shieldfreeden was made up of former Siltvelt citizens who left the country due to religious and political turmoil. As far as the nobility was concerned, they were a bunch of traitorous people that had abandoned their nation. Joining hands with them now would be equal to accepting their betrayal which no noble would willingly agree to.

Melromarc was a different problem altogether as they had a slavery system primarily built on the backs of Nonhumans. Even though I had made radical changes to the system in my territory, which only accounted for a third of the nation, the other two-thirds were still using the same system they had for centuries. Mirellia did promise them she’d work towards the eventual abolishment of slavery, but it was something that would take decades to completely remove.

“So does that mean Siltvelt isn’t interested in trading with my territory?”, I inquired.

“Heavens no!”, Renjo assured me with a worried look, “Not only did the merchant bring back word of your progress, but they also brought back many weapons, armor, and other items which the nobility fell in love with. Among those items, alcohol, chocolate, and beauty products are among the most sought-after items.”

Laughing in response, I understood how those things would be sought after by nobles. They were considered luxury items in almost everyone world I had visited so it was to be expected this world would be no different. Assuring him we could discuss those details at length, I suggested meeting with a few of those nobles now as they were likely free at the moment. Stepping back inside, we headed over to speak with a few of the noblemen who were standing back and observing the Heroes.

“Duke Baudon and Viscount Clarius, I want to introduce you to Archduke Cole Bolt.”, Renjo said gesturing to two of the men, “He is interested in discussing trade routes with us, as the two closest nobles to Melromarc I thought you’d liked to chat with him.”

Turning their attention to us, the two men extended their hands out for a handshake.

“A pleasure to meet Archduke.”, Baudon replied with a nod, “I appreciate the effort you have gone through to train the Heroes and their parties. As a former military commander, I can tell they have significantly improved themselves under your tutelage.”

“Agreed, I had concerns the four of them might be overcome by their lustful urges but so far they have been very polite and firm with the women.”, Clarius remarked with a pleased expression.

Baudon was a White Tiger Beastman probably in his mid to late fifties, and Baudon was a Dragonewt in his forties. Both men wore several military service medals which made me think the two of them were war buddies. Shaking both of their hands, the two of them nodded with approval afterward.

“I am sorry you aren’t receiving any attention like the Heroes are.”, Baudon stated, “If you are free after this, I can introduce you to a few of them.”

“It is fine, I am not interested in young women.”, I chuckled with amusement, “I prefer mature women, but I am not currently looking to add women to my harem at the moment. As you might be able to tell, I have quite a handful at the moment as it is.”

“Haha well said!”, Clarius agreed understanding what I meant, “Come let’s grab a few of the other men, and take this discussion to a private room. Let’s not ruin the mood for the young folk.”
