"However, I have to say, you have slow reactions for a self-proclaimed quick guy!" Said Maki mockingly as she looked in disdain at Naoya who had already jumped back.
After this attack, she didn't even bother targeting him any longer as her power had already started eroding Naoya's body beginning from the wound that she had just inflicted on him.
At this moment, not to mention fighting, Naoya could hardly even move his body, moreover, his simple domain had already collapsed pushing him back to his original powerless state, and even worse.
'Leaving him powerless in a world that will soon be subverted is the worst possible punishment for him.'
'As my power continues eroding his body, it will then permanently erase the ability that's innately engraved into him at birth and purify the cursed energy in his body into nothing.'

This is because the moment any of them appears outside the user's simple domain, they instantly get erased.
As for why they are using simple domains instead of the Falling Blossom Emotion which is the go-to secret art passed down in the Big Three Sorcerer Families as a countermeasure to domains?
That's because unlike Simple Domains, in which the user manifests their own domain to nullify a domain expansion's auto-hit attack, Falling Blossom Emotion shrouds the user in cursed energy that counter-attacks the moment a domain's guaranteed hit makes contact.
In this way, cursed energy defends the user automatically, countering any attack with equal force to nullify it.
Usually, such an ability is quite useful in countering normal domains, however, it is quite useless when facing the power-negating realm as even cursed energy itself gets erased.
This is also why they chose to use simple domains instead of their 'passed family technique' as it is better suited for this situation.
However, the change of methods apparently wasn't enough to stop the Zenin clan members from attacking as they simply didn't have any other choice.
