“Are we finally there?” Flavia asked, peeking through the window as the carriage turned to, what it looked like, a side road.

“Yeah, we’re basically on my family’s estate grounds now. It’s only a few minutes until we reach my parents’ house.” Narias told her.

“Awesome, I can’t wait to meet them,” Flavia exclaimed, having that overly excited grin on her face.

“It’s quite late, do you think your parents will be awake?” Ileena wondered. The time was nearing midnight.

“They probably would on a normal day,” he said.

“Wow, I started to feel… kinda nervous,” Emilia admitted, placing one of her hands on her chest.

“Don’t worry, Emilia. I’m sure you’ll get along with my parents quite well,” Narias reassured her.

“It is… a little unsettling,” Ileena said, pretending to adjust her glasses.

“Ileena?” Narias found her nervousness surprising.

“What are you two saying? Did you already forget what Narias told us about his parents?” Flavia frowned, throwing a glance to Ileena and Emilia in between. “I can tell his parents are totally cool. There’s nothing to worry about.”

Hah, Flavia won’t have any trouble getting along with my parents for sure. Narias smiled, which made Flavia smile back at him when she noticed it. In the next few minutes, the carriage finally stopped at a big yard in front of a house.

“We have arrived, sir,” the coachman’s voice was heard from the outside. And not only his. Narias could hear a commotion outside, like people rushing out of the house, steps getting closer.

Ok, this is it. I’m so excited to see my parents again. Oh, and… Layla too. Narias’s face blushed as the memory of Layla flashed in his mind. But he had to pull himself together, when he noticed all three of his girlfriends becoming very quiet all of a sudden. Even Flavia seemed somewhat tense. I guess Flavia is nervous too after all. Right, I should be the first one to come out.

“Ok, here we are,” Narias smiled to his girlfriends before standing up to leave the carriage.

As soon as he opened the doors to step out, he saw both of his parents and a few servants standing in the open not to far away. Layla was there as well. His mother was about to rush to him, eager to embrace her son in her most passionate hug ever, but her advance was cut short when Narias extended his hand to help Ileena step after him. One by one, three girls stepped out of the carriage after Narias. Narias’s father had the biggest jaw drop moment ever while his mom had her hands placed on her cheeks, eyes sparkling with joy.

“Hi dad, hello mom,” Narias smiled to his parents after coming closer. “I’m back.”

“Welcome back, Narias. I… I missed you so much,” his mom said. Narias could see his mom wanted to throw herself at him to give the most loving hug yet, but she restrained herself for some reason.

Huh? Mom? Oh, it must be because of my girlfriends. My parents didn’t expect them to arrive with me. Oh, mom… Narias realized the reason behind it.

“Hi mom,” Narias came close, hugging his mom lovingly. “I missed you so much.”

“Narias, my boy,” his mom didn’t hold back. She hugged him tighter than ever, a tear rushing down her cheek, then splashing down on her son’s shoulder. She didn’t want to let Narias go at all, but the three girls that stepped out of the carriage after her son were waiting to be introduced. “And… who are these lovely ladies that arrived with you, Narias?”

“Oh, this is Ileena, Flavia and Emilia. They are… my girlfriends,” Narias introduced them, a slight stutter entering his throat at the end. “I apologise for not informing you in advance about it, but…”

Narias was scratching the back of his head, trying to find the right words how to explain the reason behind it.

“Good evening. I’m Ileena. It’s a pleasure to meet you,” but Ileena saved him by introducing herself, bowing down in a ladylike manner.

“Greetings. My name is Emilia. I am delighted to be here,” Emilia was as graceful with her greeting as ever.

“Hey, I’m Flavia… I’m aah… Narias’s girlfriend,” Flavia wasn’t used to being eloquent with how she spoke.

“This is my mom, Alvina,” Narias introduced his mom.

“The pleasure is all mine,” Narias’s mother smiled kindly.

“And this is my dad, Lore… eeh! D… dad?” Narias was about to introduce his dad as well, but his father had the weirdest expression on his face which made Narias to step back even. His dad was smiling and crying at the same time.

“I’m so proud of you, son. Sob… Three girlfriends… And here I thought you were trying to mess with me when you wrote about them in your letters. You… you had exceeded my highest expectations… Sob…” Lorenard was happy to tears.

“Daaad…” Narias threw an eyeful at his dad.

“Oh, dear,” Alvina chuckled, feeling amused by her husband’s reaction.

“Welcome back, Young Master,” Narias’s frown was interrupted by Layla’s words.

“Layla,” Narias became livelier in an instant. He was about to go give her a hug, but Layla’s charming smile, and Narias’s awareness of where he was, stopped him. “Ahm… hi Layla, how have you been?”

“I’ve been very well, Young Master. Thank you for your asking,” she answered with a smile.

“All of you must be very tired from your trip. Why don’t we go inside?” Before an awkward, silent moment could settle in, Alvina took charge by inviting everyone to go inside the house. “Can you please help with the luggage?”

“Yes, ma’am,” the three servants, including Layla, went to pick up all the luggage that the coachman was unloading. Narias, his parents and his girlfriends went inside the house.

“Psst… that’s a huge house…” Flavia whispered to Ileena right before entering it.

“Yes… it is…” Ileena agreed with her, but something in her voice was telling she had seen a bigger one.

“Hmm…” Emilia decided to keep her opinion to herself.

“So sorry, but we did not expect for Narias to bring his girlfriends home with him. It will take some time for us to prepare rooms for you. So, would you like to have some tea and maybe a snack with it while you wait? You must be hungry too?” Alvina asked once they were inside the house.

“Yeah, that’d be great,” Flavia jumped in on the offer.

“Flavia…” Ileena shook her head.

“What? I am hungry,” the bunny girl pouted her lips.

“I… wouldn’t refuse a light snack either,” Emilia added with a smile.

“Well… in that case, I… I don’t mind joining you as well,” Ileena tried to look away, cheeks catching a light flush.

I guess Ileena is too tense, but I’m sure she’ll be fine without me interfering. That being said, I’d rather go to bed right away, actually. Narias thought to himself.

“I’m sorry, but I don’t feel that hungry. I’d rather… yaw… Oops, sorry. I’d rather go to bed right away,” Narias was about to yawn as he spoke, but force-stopped himself which made his mom chuckle.

“That’s ok dear. You certainly look very tired. Layla…” Alvina addressed the maid when she saw Layla enter the house, carrying luggage in her hands. “Would you be so kind to carry Narias’s luggage to his room? My son is very tired and will be going to bed.”

“Yes, ma’am,” Layla responded as a maid would.

“Hey, how about I carry the luggage for you, son? I’d love to have a short chat with you before you go to bed?” Lorenard’s grin was too evident regarding what he wanted to talk about.

“Lorenard, dear, you don’t intend to be so rude as to leave me by myself with these three lovely ladies here? As the head of the house, wouldn’t it be appropriate for you to keep our guests company?” Alvina quickly intervened, stopping her husband from picking up Narias’s luggage.

“Well, yes of course. I was just… trying to be helpful.” Lorenard averted his eyes, seeing his wife’s loving smile, which also had an added meaning to it. “Right… goodnight son. I hope we can have a chat tomorrow, after you… get a good rest.”

“Yes, dad,” Narias responded with a half frown, knowing full well what his dad wanted to talk about. “Goodnight mom.”

Narias went to give his mom another hug. Then went to receive a goodnight kiss from each one of his girlfriends too, leaving his parents stunned as they watched his son being kissed. Lorenard was taken aback more than Alvina was, but it left an impression on both of them.

“Well, I’ll be off now. Ahm…” Narias wanted to pick up his luggage, but Layla had it covered.

“Your room is ready, Young Master. Please,” Layla waved her hand, letting Narias walk first.

“My son, he had grown so much,” Lorenard was about to cry again after Narias and Layla were gone.

“Now, now. Hold yourself together, my dear. Our guests are watching.” Alvina chuckled again, covering her mouth with one hand.

“But… I’m so proud of him,” Lorenard argued, which made Alvina laugh even more.

“You’re funny, Mister Talrone,” Flavia made a comment, chuckling herself.

“Flavia,” Ileena scolded her.

“What?” Flavia frowned, getting tired of being constantly scolded by her.

“Oh, it’s ok. Don’t try to restrain yourselves.” Alvina smiled, helping the girls to relax. “I’d love to know more about your trip, so how about we have a chat in our dining room. The tea and the snacks will be ready in a few minutes.”

“Thank you, Mrs. Talrone,” Ileena bowed.

“Yey,” Flavia cheered.

“Here you go, Young Master,” Layla opened the doors to Narias’s room.

“Thanks… Layla,” he said, feeling a little confused about Layla’s seemingly neutral attitude towards him.

“I will place your luggage here,” Layla put the luggage down.

“Layla, I…” Narias wanted to say something, but became embarrassed instead.

“Yes, Young Master,” Layla responded, tilting her head to the side.

“Well, I…” he scratched his cheek with one finger, building up the courage to say what he wanted to say. “I missed you, Layla.”

He lifted his eyes to look at her only to see her cheeks catch a charming red.

“I… missed you too… Narias,” his face lit up when he heard her say that.

“Layla,” he rushed to embrace her in a loving hug.

“You’ve really grown, Narias,” Layla was happy to feel his strong hands wrapped around her body.

“I… I was afraid you didn’t care about me anymore,” Narias confessed.

“What?” his words surprised Layla, which made her pull away, so she could see his face. “Why would you say that… Young Master?”

She asked with a tease.

“Well, aah…” it made Narias blush more than before. “I don’t know. It’s just that…”

“I don’t think throwing myself at you in front of your parents, and your three girlfriends, would’ve been the right thing to do. Don’t you think?” Layla smiled charmingly, making Narias’s heart skip a beat.

“Oh, yeah. That would’ve been…” a possible scenario of how it would’ve looked ran through his head. “Yeah, well… I… I’m happy to see you again, Layla.”

“I’m happy to see you too… Narias,” and instantly their lips connected with a kiss, which sent Narias’s mind back to the day he and Layla had spent the night together.

Narias had been kissed by his girlfriends, and a few other women before, but Layla’s kiss felt heavenly in a different, unexplainable way. She was his first love, an unofficial girlfriend, and that meant more to him than he could put into words. After the passionate, prolonged kiss, Layla finally pulled away.

“I’m overjoyed you still keep me in your heart, Narias.” Layla smiled, gazing into his eyes. “But I must go prepare the rooms for your girlfriends too.”

“Oh, aah…” Narias’s became embarrassed in an instant. The woman he was kissing reminded him about his other three girlfriends. His mind was awestruck by how casual Layla spoke about it, but it made him feel uncomfortable too. “Yes, sorry…”

“What are you saying? I am happy for you,” Layla touched his face with one hand. “All I want is for you to be happy, Narias.”

Wow… Layla… If Narias’s heart had skipped a beat a moment earlier, then now his heart sank down to his ankles.

“Layla…” he could barely utter any words.

“Goodnight, Young Master,” she let go, stepping away. Narias squirmed, seeing Layla escape when he wanted to wrap his arms around her waist again. That just made the beautiful maid chuckle. Layla was about to leave the room, but stopped in the middle of the doorway for a brief second. The maid turned her head towards Narias, shifting her body in a way her maid’s outfit accentuated her body’s curves. “Sweet dreams… Narias…”

He could only gasp at Layla’s seductive tease, his eyes catching a wink leaving her eyes. Narias wanted to stop her from leaving, but the maid was already gone, doors closed behind her. Narias was left alone in the room, his heart pounding, heat building up inside his body like a volcano about to erupt.

“Mmmm… Laylaaa…” Narias fell on his bed, sinking his face into a pillow. “How will I fall asleep now?”

In the meantime, Ileena, Flavia and Emilia enjoyed the treats prepared for them while waiting for their rooms to be ready. They had some small talk with Narias’s parents during that time. Alvina wasn’t drilling her son’s girlfriends with too many questions, even if Lorenard tried to be nosy. Alvina wanted the girls to relax and feel at ease, so she asked seemingly unimportant questions, mainly about the school and how their studies were going. It helped. All three of them felt very welcome and quickly opened up to her. But it was very late into the night and even though Ileena, Flavia and Emilia had a nap during the trip, their bodies craved for some extra rest.

“Excuse me, Mrs. Talrone. The rooms for our guests have been prepared,” Layla informed after she entered the room.

“Wonderful,” Alvina clapped her hands. “I’m so sorry it took us so long to prepare the rooms for you, girls. Feel free to oversleep and get up as late as you wish tomorrow.”

“Thank you, Mrs. Talrone,” Ileena said.

“Thank you for the snacks. These cookies are great.” Flavia was quick to grab another one, then put her guard up, expecting Ileena to scold her again. But the girl in glasses didn’t say anything. She simply picked up her cup to have the last sip of her tea. Flavia used the opportunity to snatch another cookie from the plate before leaving the table.
