The meal lasted for over an hour.

Truthfully, Shen NingXin hadn’t been in a good mood since the conflict with Pei Qing.

Even her eating and sleeping had been deeply disrupted for a long time.

For instance, she didn’t eat last night and simply went to bed lethargically after taking a shower.

It was the same this morning. Since she was in a daze thinking about things, she was almost late to work and only ate a small bun to fill her stomach.

So tonight’s dinner was the most comfortable meal she’s had in a long time.

The sizzling and fatty barbecue smelled amazing, and upon putting it inside her mouth and thoroughly chewing it, she felt happiness overflow, putting her in a good mood.

The air conditioner was turned on in the small private room. The cold wind and heat from the grill swirled together, making the air the right temperature as it fanned against her face.

It was both quiet and comfortable.

Shen NingXin lowered her head to grill the meat, and as she thought, she suddenly let out a laugh.

“What are you laughing dumbly about?” Qiu YiBai raised her eyes, soon discovering her strangeness.

Qiu YiBai was in a good mood today, so she asked the waitress for some alcohol.

It was a fruit wine, so the alcohol content wasn’t very high, where even after a couple of glasses, she was only a little tipsy.

She seemed no different from normal.

But in reality, her cheeks were slightly red and she spoke more than before, much of her nature that had been suppressed finally released.

Seeing Shen NingXin laugh to herself, she thought there was something funny and moved her head over to look.

So such a scene appeared—

One person kept laughing at the barbecue, and the other was frowning, trying to figure out what exactly was so funny.

After she still couldn’t discover anything, she moved back awkwardly, opening her mouth and letting out a few “haha’s” to go along.

It was weirdly cute.

Shen NingXin watched her, her smile deepening.

A conclusion also gradually emerged from the bottom of her mind.

To be honest . . . every time she went out with Qiu YiBai, she felt quite happy.

After she finished eating, Shen NingXin got up to use the bathroom.

Before she left, she felt a little worried, fearing that this crybaby would secretly cry again after drinking too much.

But thankfully, Qiu YiBai didn’t look too unusual at the moment.

She felt relieved and hurried to the bathroom, then went downstairs to the front desk to pay the bill.

But only when she asked did she discover that Qiu YiBai had already settled the bill at some point.

When did this happen?!

She was a little surprised and quickly questioned the girl at the front.

“Your friend came to pay the bill soon after you guys ordered the food,” the young lady recalled and even showed her the receipt she kept.

It marked the time, 6:30.

It really was soon after ordering.

Shen NingXin was taken aback when she saw this, then thought for a moment and quickly came to a conclusion in her mind.

No wonder Qiu YiBai suddenly told her that she hadn’t parked the car well and needed to move it. It turned out she came to pay the bill behind her back.

Going even further back, there was also a deeper meaning behind her saying “choose what you want to eat.”

Seems like she already planned this.

When she realized this, Shen NingXin’s heart suddenly warmed up.

After thanking the lady at the front desk, Shen NingXin turned around and hurried back to the private room. When she pushed the door open, she saw that Qiu YiBai was still drinking.

Shen NingXin paused, raised her eyes quickly, and then saw that Qiu YiBai had almost finished the entire jug of alcohol.

Even though it’s fruit wine, you shouldn’t chug it down like it were some refreshments!

She sighed and hurriedly went over to stop her, then asked her gently, “Didn’t we say I was going to treat you to a meal, why did you pay the bill, President Qiu?”

As soon as her voice fell, Qiu YiBai raised her head and glanced at her.

A moment later, she murmured, seemingly ridiculing her, “How much can an intern like you earn in a month.”

“Maybe next time if we have the chance. Count this meal on me this time.”

After speaking, likely seeing that Shen NingXin was about to refute herself, she then waved her hand unhappily.

“I’m rich,” she said, lowering her tone, as though telling her a secret, “Richer than you could ever imagine.”

She still got drunk in the end.

Shen NingXin felt speechless and only smiled in cooperation.

Subconsciously gentling her voice, she patiently responded, “Yes, yes, yes, our President Qiu is the richest.”

“. . . . . .”

This person couldn’t drive after drinking, and Shen NingXin didn’t even know how to, so she called a substitute driver in the end.

After watching Qiu YiBai climb into the car, Shen NingXin followed behind her.

The car quickly started and before long, Shen NingXin suddenly caught a glimpse of Qiu YiBai fumbling around her pocket and pulling out her phone.

She then very purposefully clicked on Weibo.

Here she goes again!

She was going to make another post!

Seeing this, Shen NingXin actually felt a little nervous, fearing that this person would criticize her in a post again, so she also quietly took out her phone and went on Weibo.

As soon as Qui YiBai finished posting, she hurriedly clicked on it to look.

Finally, the top post wasn’t the pig hot water bag but was replaced with a new one, the one Qiu YiBai just posted—

“The me who has money treated the Shen NingXin who has no money to a tasty barbecue.”

“She owes me another one.”

After it, she added a sticker of A Ji that had his arms on his hips.

Shen NingXin didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

This person noted down everything that happened.

Seeing the word “tasty”, Shen NingXin felt her heart flutter, and she moved closer toward Qiu YiBai, looking at her side profile.

After a moment, she opened her lips and gently asked a question, “President Qiu, do you think the barbecue tasted good?”

As soon as her voice fell, Qiu YiBai shook her head and commented seriously, “No, it didn’t taste good.”

“It’s very unhealthy.”

Shen NingXin: “. . . . . .”

That’s not what you said on Weibo.

Shen NingXin couldn’t do anything about this double-faced crybaby, so she simply smiled and moved back.

After a moment, she suddenly remembered something, then rummaged through her bag for a while before finally taking out a piece of milk candy.

“Then I will treat you to something tasty right now.” After speaking, she placed the candy on Qiu YiBai’s palm.

As though she were coaxing a child.

That crybaby made a lot of progress last night. She didn’t cry for her to not leave anymore.

Shen NingXin was very pleased, and she quickly returned home after sending her back.

After taking a comfortable hot shower, she quickly hopped into bed, turned over, and hugged the little bunny doll beside her.

She had a rare good night’s sleep.

When she woke up the next morning and looked in the mirror, even the dark circles under her eyes became lighter.

In a surprisingly good mood, she quickly got up from bed, went to the bathroom to wash up, and had a good breakfast. When she looked at the time again, it was still early.

So she took the bus to the company leisurely.

Upon arriving, she happened to run into Assistant Han at the elevator.

Shen NingXin quickly greeted her, “Good morning, Assistant Han.”

“Morning,” Assistant Han raised her lips and smiled at her. Seeming to be worried about her, she asked, “In a good mood?”

“Yes, yes,” Noticing her kindness, Shen NingXin quickly responded with a smile.

For the time the two talked, the elevator had arrived.

Shen NingXin followed behind Assistant Han into the elevator. As soon as she stepped in, Assistant Han suddenly spoke again.

“By the way, Xiao Shen, send me your personal information like ID and phone number later,” she said, “The weather has been so nice recently, and the temperature is just right, too, so the company decided to organize a trip for the weekend.”

They actually planned on taking them out on a trip.

Sure enough, the benefits at a large company were great.

Shen NingXin quickly nodded in agreement and opened WeChat to send her personal information to Assistant Han.

But after typing a few words, she heard Assistant Han speak again, “You can bring family members on this trip hah.”

“Sons and daughters, younger siblings, or boyfriend and girlfriend are all okay. If you decide to, send me your family member’s personal information, too.”

After speaking, the elevator happened to arrive.

Assistant Han was busy with something, so after saying goodbye to Shen NingXin, she quickly turned a corner and left, leaving her standing there alone.

Shen NingXin was silent for a moment, her expression suddenly became a little dazed.

Allowing family members, what a nice thing.

However, even though it seemed nice, she . . . didn’t seem to have any family members she could bring.

The weekend soon arrived.

Shen NingXin already asked her colleagues early on and discovered that the majority of them were bringing relatives, very few took their boyfriend or girlfriend with them.

Even Assistant Han, who exposed her sexual orientation to her long ago, was also only going to bring her younger sister.

Literally nobody brought friends . . .

Shen NingXin sighed and was too embarrassed to inform Assistant Han, sending only her personal information in the end.

At five in the morning on Saturday, all the employees from the Sales Department gathered outside the company.

Because the Sales Department had the most people, Qiu YiBai simply joined them.

She didn’t have formal wear on for once.

She wore a light blue blouse for her top and didn’t button up the cuffs, only slightly rolling the sleeves up, revealing her slender and pretty wrist.

For her bottom, she wore a pair of black pants. There were no special designs, but they still outlined her straight and long legs well.

Even though the sky hadn’t completely lightened up yet at five in the morning, Shen NingXin still noticed her immediately from among the crowd.

Then she couldn’t help but sigh out, how beautiful.

“. . . . . .”

The bus that had been contacted beforehand soon arrived.

Because of the fact that there were children, it was a chaotic process when getting on the bus. Afraid of bumping into them, Shen NingXin waited to get on, but when she finally did, she discovered that the seats were almost full.

Even if there was a free space, the seat was occupied by people’s backpacks.

That makes sense. After all, the majority of people came with their family members, unlike her, who was alone.

Sighing helplessly, Shen NingXin could only continue to walk forward.

As she walked, she suddenly saw an empty seat, and her heart was immediately filled with joy.

When she glanced up, she saw that the person sitting next to it turned out to be Qiu YiBai.

Shen NingXin: “. . . . . .”

She then remembered, it appeared to be that this person also came alone.

As she hesitated if she should sit here in front of everyone’s eyes, the driver in the front started urging them, telling them to hurry up to avoid traffic jams.

As soon as his voice fell, confusion quickly overtook the bus, where those who hadn’t sat down yet frantically began to go toward their seats.

“Xiao Shen, just sit there.” Zhao Jie, who was across the aisle, looked in her direction. “The bus should be starting soon, it wouldn’t be convenient for you to keep walking back.”

As she spoke, she patted Shen NingXin’s arm gently, whispering, “Besides, we’re out to have fun, being happy is all that matters, so don’t worry about anything.”

It seemed that she was aware of what she was worried about.

Seeing this, Shen NingXin quickly smiled, and just as she was about to respond, a hand suddenly reached out from beside her.

They used quite a bit of force, and Shen NingXin staggered before sitting right on the seat.

“Are you dumb?” She quickly heard the person beside her speak, her tone seemingly displeased, “There’s a seat and you won’t take it, where else are you going to go ah?”

Shen NingXin raised her head when she heard her words, meeting Qiu YiBai’s gaze.

Immediately, she read the meaning behind her look—

“She still didn’t sit down after so long, does she think I’m not worth sitting next to or something?”

Shen NingXin didn’t know whether to cry or laugh and quickly nodded and responded, “I’ll sit, I’ll sit.”

After speaking, she turned her head and exchanged a few words with Zhao Jie.

The bus soon started.

The destination these people were going to this time was a grassland, and it wasn’t exactly close to the company. Even if they took the highway, it was still going to take several hours.

Qiu YiBai, probably accustomed to going on business trips, leaned back and closed her eyes to rest as soon as the bus started.

Shen NingXin didn’t have the ability to fall asleep that quickly, so she raised her head and looked around.

Immediately, she discovered that the rows of seats around here were basically occupied by a combination of adults and children, where she saw pairs of big and small heads when she looked up.

It was only different where she was.

Thinking like this, Shen NingXin subconsciously turned her head and glanced in Qiu YiBai’s direction.

This person was sleeping quite soundly. She was in a rather cozy posture and leaned there comfortably, her breathing heavy.

When Shen NingXin got closer, she was even able to notice her eyelashes flutter along with her breathing from time to time, and her lips would also move inadvertently.

Unlike usual, she looked very well-behaved and cute.

As Shen NingXin watched her, a thought suddenly popped into her mind.

To be honest, if you approximated it, couldn’t they also count as a combination of adult and child?

Adult, Shen NingXin.

Child, uh . . . like the one sleeping so soundly next to her, two-and-a-half years old Qiu.
