Clok!

Clok!

Clok!

Clok!

"Just a bit more!"

Clok!

"Almost done."

Clok!

"That's it, you did it!" KuliKuli clapped her paws and jumped up with glee, hugging her mates arm as he slouched over to catch his breath. Felix wiped the sweat off his forehead, feeling the shaft of the sledgehammer begin to slip from his sore grip. That was the last wooden post left, fortunately the hardest part was over. The sun had grown tired of hovering over his shoulder to spectate, he had been busy with this task for so long that the moons had returned once again illuminating the starry night sky with one full moon in between two partial moons. The strength in is legs began to fail and he found himself falling to his knee as KuliKuli sat beside him.

"It's okay, I'll start a nice warm bath for you."

Felix raised his head. "Okay, but be careful not to burn yourself again."

"Hey, I learned better. Trust me." She stuck out her tongue and smiled. "Maybe I clean up first?"

"No, I can do that. My mess after all, you go on. I'll see you inside."

She kissed him and stood up, skipping away back to the cabin. He turned and rested against the wooden post, in part to test its stability while catching his breath. The day had passed sooner than he had anticipated, admittedly not all the tasks he had planned for today were accomplished. There was always tomorrow, the more urgent tasks of tending and feeding the animals were always his first priority. He peeled off his dirty tunic and used it to wipe away the sweat off his chest and around his neck, swinging it over his shoulder as he began picking up the tools from the ground. His arms were so tired that the sledgehammer felt like weighed as much as a boulder, thus he opted to drag it by the end of the shaft as he returned the utilities back into the farm.

He made sure that the pigs were well fed, the chickens returned to their nests, and that the horses had settled in their stables. When he walked back to the cabin, he spotted the orange glow of light from the round window likely coming from the fireplace. His muscles ached and each step forward felt like weights held his ankles down, but he knew what awaited him inside and the journey would be worth the pain. Thank goodness for KuliKuli, her aid contributed greatly to his comfort and he found himself pushing his limits further with her support uplifting his spirit. That woman was changing him into a better man, he chuckled as he felt satisfied with another day fulfilled as at last they may rest, share a meal and spend the night freely.

He turned sharply, scanning the area around him. Something didn't smell right, or rather a new smell had been introduced around him. Such a thought made him realize that his sense of smell had changed unbeknownst to him as well. He stepped backward, slowly approaching the front door of the cabin. The night had gone silent now, not even the insects dared to move or sing as the air around him felt eerie and cold.

Something furry swung briefly from the roof above the door, a shadowy figure looming over with its eyes centered toward its prey. Felix shook his head and turned back around to hurry to the cabin, this time freezing when he heard it sigh from above. He was sweating again, feeling a chill creep over his spine. His instinct screamed that he needed to run, run far away before it was too late, but the only shelter he could take was here at his home.

If something spotted him already, then there was no running away. His heart sunk as he began to realize that KuliKuli could be in danger as well.

"I can smell your fear." Someone spoke to him in a feminine voice, breathing heavily and salivating as she approached him. "Long have I been in search until at last I have found you to my taking."

"Kuli-"

The figure had pounced on him with such ferocity that he was pinned down, helpless and frozen in terror. Her paws held his wrists down, she seemed please with her catch as her tongue slid across her lips. He was breathing hard, mesmerized by her piercing yellow eyes, her smile which revealed sharp canine teeth, and the claws in her furry hands which pricked his skin with the slightest poke.

This wasn't an animal, that much he realized when he acknowledged her lean body lacking any clothing to keep her modesty, but rather it was a human woman. Her slanted eyes shaped like almonds, and her neck-length hair was a dark blue tone. She rested her weight on his chest, dragging her claws across his chest with her wolf tail wagging behind her.

The traits of a wolf and a woman, but failing to be one or the other.

It was a wolf girl.

"Kon'nichiwa."

She giggled in a hysteric manner and ran her paw slowly down his chest playfully.

"C-Can I help you?" He asked with a quivering voice.

"As a matter of fact, you can. I seem to be lost for the longest time, and in search for a mate. What do you know, I seem to have found one! I usually don't do this with strangers so allow me to introduce myself, I am Reta, Norowa Reta, and we are going to be rrrrrreal close very soon."

She bit her lower lip, grinding herself on him.

Oh dear.

"W-what... what do you mean by that exactly?"

Felix swallowed, feeling helplessly paralyzed under this wolf's grasp. Reta giggled as she watched his stunned face. He was careful not to say something wrong, the way her paws were situated with one flex those claws would be sure to hurt. Nothing he could do but to shiver and pray for a miracle.

"Mmm, I think you and I both know very well what I mean by those words, don't we? I can smell it in you, you've mated before. Though the scent is different, not human I believe..."

She paused, leaning close and sniffing his neck.

"Not human, not an elf or a dwarf or even a saurian. More like a sort of housecat? Why do you carry the scent of a housecat?"

She squinted before locking eyes with him to find her answer. His eyes were different, not as brown as its natural color should be. Soft, slightly adjusted to view in the dark like hers. But the goldish tone in them seem more akin to a feline, as if the two colors converged. But his pupils, they were not rounded but grew narrow, resembling the eyes of a feline somehow...

Felix sniffed, catching a familiar scent coming in close. Clearing his throat, he looked back into her eyes with renewed confidence.

"Maybe because I'm with a cat."

A white brown blur leaped through and kicked away at the werewolf, sending her to her side. Felix rolled over as the blur landing in front of him on all fours, snarling and growling at the wolf. Her tails stood on end, her fur lifted and her claws ready for battle.

KuliKuli was not playing around.

"Get your hands off my mate!"

Reta flipped back up on her four paws, shaking her head before adjusting her sights onto the Nekomata. Her snarl became a smirk and her muscles relaxed slightly.

"A Nekomata? You're joking? This is your mate, a rejected house pet?"

Kuli burrowed her eyes further with Felix behind hoping she didn't do anything foolish.

"This rejected house pet is more than able to claw your brains out if you don't back off!"

"Hehehehe, this'll be a cakewalk! I'll play nice out of pity, crawl away with your tails tucked between your legs. Save yourself the embarrassment while you can, and leave this man to a real woman."

This time Felix held her arm and stood by her side.

"You talk a lot, and I understand you are lost but I'm not interested. Just leave us alone and no one is getting hurt."

"Except you if you stay!" KuliKuli shouted.

"Yes, that's what I mean by... leaving us..." Felix slowly replied.

Reta chuckled. "Cute, but I'll have to pass. I've come a long way and am not about to lose another mate."

Felix grew nervous, this wasn't looking too good and he didn't want to see KuliKuli get into a fight. Not like this, not ever.

But what options did they have?

"Have it your way!" KuliKuli shouted before growling and raising her tails up high.

"If you insist." Reta smirked, lifting her hind legs before leaping ahead.

Felix could only jump back and watch helplessly as both monster girls clashed and rolled around, seemingly wrestling in the ground. Sharp cat noises could be heard, growls echoed as the two continued rolling around with one pinning the other until Reta planted her feet against the cat girls chest and sent her flying, crashing into an apple tree. KuliKuli shouted in pain while Reta composed herself, snarling and turning to inspect several cuts on her shoulder and bicep. It looked like her right arm got most of the damage, almost like a full sleeve of scratch marks left bleeding on her skin and fur.

KuliKuli rolled away just as Reta leaped after her. The kitty thought fast and instinctively ran up into the tree concealing herself by the heavy amount of leaves and apples. Reta bared her teeth and snapped her jaws into the air, shouting and cursing at the cat.

"That's it? You're just going to hide away like a scaredy cat huh? Ow!"

She flinched when an apple fell on her head. Felix looked up, that apple didn't fall on its own. Several leaves descended onto the wolf before another apple was thrown, landing on her back. KuliKuli leaped away from one tree to another, catching the largest apples around and firing away at the intruder.

"Ow! Stop, hn! Damn it, fuck! Stop that!"

He could hear her chuckle from above as she continued throwing a barrage of fruit down, annoying the wolf girl.

"Who's the scaredy cat now, running away from fruit?"

"I said stop that!"

KuliKuli smirked and threw another apple, this time hitting Reta on her eye. This made the wolf stumble back, grabbing her eye and cursing up a storm.

"Kuso! Chikushô! Konoyarô!"

"I don't know what any of that means, dummy!" KuliKuli mocked, sticking her tongue out at her. Reta had enough, grabbing an apple and throwing it back to her.

Direct hit!

KuliKuli didn't see that coming, the apple struck her square on the head making her lose balance as she fell off the high ground and landed onto the grass below. Reta took no time to pounce and quickly gained the advantage.

"Wait, don't hurt her!" Felix shouted, running after them as Reta sunk her teeth into the cat girl's shoulder as she mewled in pain.

"Meee-OW!!" KuliKuli was thrown out, crashing against the cabin wall and falling on her side. She wasn't looking too good. Felix ran over to her, not caring about the wolf girl as he inspected her cuts. Reta snickered, running after the Nekomata only for Felix to turn around and stretch his arms wide as he stood blocking her from his mate.

"Don't you dare. You can't hurt me if you want me, right?"

She growled, lowering herself as her eyes glared at him.

Felix smiled. "Good, now!"

He ducked, allowing KuliKuli to leap above him and catch Reta off-guard. She grabbed her with both claws and was quick to swing the wolf away, launching her onto another tree as hard as she could. A bludgeoning sound emitted upon her impact as she struck the back of her head, struggling to get back up with a dazed look on her face before losing the strength and collapsing back down. Felix breathed heavily but smiled, they won.

"Holy hell, we did it! KuliKuli we... Kuli? Kuli!"

She stumbled and turned around, smiling at him before hitting the ground herself. The last thing she saw was her mate running after her, shouting... something...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Her eyes slowly opened up, finding herself in bed with a worried Felix by her side. He smiled but she could still sadness in his eyes as he held her paw. "Easy there, you were hurt pretty bad."
She tried to lift herself up and mewled, feeling her right paw throb before noticing the ragged homemade bandages wrapped around it. "Fuuu, it hurts..."
"I know, it'll feel better okay? You just need to rest for now."
Felix leaned in close and kissed her cheek, making her smile.
"Are you hurt Master? Did she cut you? I'm sorry I couldn't come sooner-"
"Are you kidding me? Yes I'm fine but that's not me in bed right now. You need to rest and stay safe, I was worried back there. I thought... I thought I would lose you."
It was her turn to look back with sadness in her voice. "I don't care Master, when I saw her on you I was scared of losing you too. I don't care if it was one wolf or a whole pack, I'd fight them all off for you. You're mine, Master. I love you."
He choked slightly, finding it hard to swallow before the words came to him.
"I... I love you too. KuliKuli, you need help with these wounds. I-I need to go find someone to-"
"No! Please, don't leave me alone Master. My heart would hurt if you leave."
Felix helped her up and hugged her tight, turning his head to kiss her. By now their lips were familiar territory, but the emotions behind them were stronger then before. "I would never, Kuli. I'm always here for you. Always."
Her eyes twinkled upon hearing that, and she mewled as her heart began to melt. "M-Master, my body aches. Do you think... you can stay with me for tonight, please?"
He caressed her cheek and looked into her eyes before leaning forward and embracing her in his arms.
"Close your eyes, I'll be with you when you open them."
"Felix..." Her voice wavered as her eyes struggled to stay open, feeling him kiss her cheek as she drifted away to sleep.
