When Qin Fei said Fang Luofan’s temper is good, he really wasn’t lying.

If he is any other coach, upon hearing a pro-gamer say “My Frozen Heart can definitely win” in a match up with one of the Top 8, who knows where they’d have been kicked off to by now?

What about Fang Luofan?

He lifts both arms, interlacing his fingers whilst supporting his chin, descending into a pensive silence.

The whole conference room plunges into an odd silence. Nobody speaks for a long time.

This kind of atmosphere makes Jing Yu feel even more pressured, but after gulping uneasily, he still maintains his opinion:

“According to your briefing, Coach, the enemy Support will definitely protect the Marksman and Mage at every second. The three shouldn’t be too far off from each other. However, Frozen Heart’s Ultimate has crowd control. So long as we are able to control the enemy’s mage and marksman simultaneously, taking the opportunity to attack, I think…… we should be able to win.”

This time, he’s slightly more tactful, but the confidence in his tone grows more pronounced.

No. Rather than calling it ‘confidence’, it’d be better to call this his faith in pg‘s abilities. He believes so long as he suppresses the enemy’s offense, his teammates will grasp victory with their own strategies.

Realizing this point, puzzlement flashes across Fang Luofan’s face. He asks Qin Fei: “Where did you find this player?”

“The game ah.” Qin Fei’s reply is extremely half-hearted, yet honest.

Ye Hong somewhat helplessly fills in the gap: “It’s like this. Last night, the four of us opened a side account to play Standard, and we got auto-matched with Jing Yu. Seeing as if he’s able to keep up with our pace, we wanted to let him come over for try-outs.”

This clearly isn’t the answer Fang Luofan wants to hear. What he truly wants to know is: “Jing Yu, you know about pg?”

Jing Yu stiffens, totally not expecting him to suddenly ask this. Still, he obediently answers: “I know. I’ve watched the 3rd PGL.”

“Then, how do you view pg this team?” Fang Luofan suddenly gains much interest in Jing Yu.

It’d be his first time challenging a pro. Even if it’s an online practice match, to be able to spit out “can win” these two words so resolutely, it just goes to show how strong his faith in pg is. This kind of confidence, where exactly does it come from?

Jing Yu doesn’t think too much and sincerely shares his own thoughts:

“Other than the fact that pg is always switching out solo-laners, in truth, every member of pg this team are outstanding ah. Their timing is good, their motion control is also good — If this isn’t the case, they wouldn’t have been able to fight a fast-paced match at all. However, no matter who stepped up to play the solo-laner, they were still unable to keep up with the team. Yet, Demon Lord is a team game. It can’t be won just because a few individuals are outstanding. This is especially so when going up against strong teams.”

“Indeed. But other than that?”

In truth, hearing up to this point, Fang Luofan is already very satisfied. If one doesn’t have a certain standard, one wouldn’t have been able to share all these. To be able to share to such extent, Jing Yu has already proven he’s got a natural understanding of strategies and the sort. If it’s him, he might just be able to fill in the holes in pg.

Yet, Fang Luofan just wants to hear more; wants to receive a more precise answer to his question. That’s why, he prompts Jing Yu.

And this answer, Jing Yu unabashedly dishes it out in the following words:

“No matter which pro-gamer team is matched up with pg, pg can always play so aggressively thanks to Fei Ge….. Fei Ge really is super strong ah! No matter which demon he uses, he can always play with such ferocity. No matter who dares to go head to head with him, he can always force his way through as though unobstructed. Although he’s always playing as a jungler, but his play style is really similar to a solo-laner. If he’s the solo-laner, I think pg will never lose again! I… I will do my best, never pull his feet down!”

Hearing this reply, Qin Fei is the first to snicker.

Luo Yiming unreservedly lets out a huge roar of laughter. Han Leng originally wants to suppress it, but can’t help himself after hearing Luo Yiming’s unbridled laughter. He snickers aloud.

Ye Hong half chuckles, half covers his eyes, not daring to look at Fang Luofan’s expression.

Fang Luofan bears a face full of black lines, not knowing what he should say.

No wonder Jing Yu has so much confidence in pg…… It’s because he’s Qin Fei’s fanboy?

Towards the gamer who he respects most, how can he not have any confidence?

Four people shaking with laughter, only Jing Yu sits confusedly in place, blinking wide eyes — Did he say something wrong just now?

But he feels that Fei Ge is really incredible ah……

No. It’s not that he feels. Fei Ge is very incredible ah.

After letting the four people have their fun, Fang Luofan coughs twice: “Silence.”

The four people gives him much face** and quietens down.

(**gives face 给面子: kindly take care of other people’s feelings: used here, it’s sort of patronizing and funny cause FLF is the grown ass man who needs to be taken care of, but that’s the case here)

Subsequently, Fang Luofan looks at Jing Yu, a face full of sternness as he says: “Qin Fei is indeed powerful in game, but he is not God. He also has times where he makes mistakes.”

“But he makes mistakes very rarely ah.” Jing Yu lightly furrows his brows, visibly disagreeing with Fang Luofan. “Towards the end of the official tournament, the solo-laner obviously gave up. The mid-laner lost his focus and was targeted by the enemy jungler a good number of times. The marksman also made all sorts of errors in his motion control*. Only Fei Ge never once made a mistake, persistently fighting to the end.”

(*Please note ‘Character Control’ has been changed to ‘Motion Control’)

“……” Fang Luofan originally wants to refute it, yet he can’t even spit out half a line of denial. Afterall, what Jing Yu said is true.

This time, Luo Yiming and Ye Hong can no longer laugh.

Luo Yiming lies flat on the table, pretending said marksman who made all sorts of control errors isn’t him.

Ye Hong’s arm which had been covering his eyes slackens. Pretending to be dead.

Han Leng, this support who was overlooked, excitedly smacks the table, asking: “Me! What about me? You still haven’t said me!”

“The support ah……” Jing Yu tries to refresh his memory for a bit, but his impression of the support really isn’t all that clear. Afterall, the bulk of his attention had been collectively pinned upon Qin Fei.

But since he doesn’t have much memory of it, this means that the other hadn’t made any big mistakes. Therefore, Jing Yu evenly replies with two words: “Average performance.”

Han Leng is caught between tears and laughter, not knowing whether to be happy or devastated.

He can only say, this new little teammate really is frank to the point of being adorable.

Fang Luofan can’t keep from clearing his throat: “Alright. Let’s not waste our breaths on this. Put your hearts back on the practice match this afternoon. If we’re using Frozen Heart this demon……”

He wanted to share more about that Ult Jing Yu mentioned and its potential, but he abruptly cuts himself off.

In theory, this strategy can be put to test. However, Frozen Heart is such a squishy**. How can he tank the enemy Marksman and Mage’s high damage and control them? His tiny life might be extinguished even before he closes in on them ba?

(**squishy 脆: Low HP character)

Not waiting for Fang Luofan to finish his thoughts on how he should explain this, Jing Yu once again opens his mouth, inquiring apprehensively: “That…… May I ask, who is in charge of commanding?”

“Me.”

Before Fang Luofan can respond, Qin Fei has already nonchalantly given the answer.

“Ah……” Jing Yu sighs, no longer speaking.

Qin Fei meets his gaze, intrigued: “What is it?”

“Nothing.” Jing Yu replies, “I will listen to your commands.”

“If the one commanding isn’t me, what did you originally intend to say?” Qin Fei thoughtfully asks. In his heart, he already knows the answer. Thus, not allowing Jing Yu to reply, he uses an indisputable tone and says, “This afternoon, you’ll be the one giving the commands. “

“Huan?” Jing Yu is startled, lifting his head in disbelief. “Why?”

Qin Fei of course isn’t doing this on a whim:

“One: You are the jungler. You don’t have the burden of guarding the three lanes. Compared to me, a solo-laner, you’d be better able to detect any abnormalities on the mini-map and respond accordingly.”

“Two: I hope you didn’t forget. This match decides whether you leave or stay. Therefore, letting you command is only fair to you. Your own road thereafter, you’ll be the one to decide. How about that?”

With this kind of reply, Jing Yu can’t find any reason to reject him and therefore resolutely nods his head: “Okay. This afternoon’s practice match, I’ll take command. I will definitely do my best!”

At this moment, Ye Hong has already lowered the arm that is covering his eyes. He spots Qin Fei’s gaze over brimming with powerlessness.

— Clearly, this man wants to help this teammate badly, but he still uses this practice match to put pressure on him, this person is really……

Ye Hong doesn’t even doubt it. Even if they lose to Ane this afternoon, Qin Fei will still use all his power to find a way to keep Jing Yu.

Afterall, this is a person who Qin Fei can entrust his jungler position to.

Regardless, through this conference, his understanding of Jing Yu has deepened a step further — This person, not only is he competitive and resilient, he is also blunt to the point where he’s adorable. Whilst showering all sorts of brainless compliments upon Qin Fei, he’s still competent at analysing, possessing strong observation prowess.

When this sort of person says “We can win”, it surely isn’t an empty promise.

pg‘s future, it really is worth looking forward to, isn’t it?

The Author (finally!) has something to say: The fight will begin the next chapter~ And then, Jing Yu will know, he underestimated this group of teammates’ bloodthirstiness……
