Qin Fei doesn’t want Jing Yu to know he is gay, but he also won’t stop anyone from telling him.

In any case, let things progress naturally on their own.

When it’s noon, Fang Luofan finally returns, bringing two sets of contracts to Jing Yu:

“Look through it carefully. If there are no problems, then you sign it. Give me your ID card for a moment.”

“Okay.” Jing Yu obediently replies. He directly turns over to the last page to add his signature to each contract. Fine and delicate, his handwriting is just like that of a girl’s.

Then, he passes both contracts and his ID card to Fang Luofan.

Fang Luofan hesitantly receives them: “You’re not looking through it?”

“No need la.” Jing Yu smilingly replies — So long as he is able to fight a match together with Qin Fei, even if it’s a slave contract, he will still sign on without fail.

“Alright. Ye Zi, go help Jing Yu photocopy his ID card. We need two sets of it.” Saying this, Fang Luofan passes the card over to Ye Hong.

Ye Hong receives it somewhat helplessly: “Why do you guys all like to order me around ah?” Despite saying that, he still brings Jing Yu’s ID with him to the photocopying machine.

Qin Fei turns to see Fang Luofan. Seeing his grave expression, he raises his brows in suspicion: “What. Who owes you money?”

Fang Luofan shoots him a glare, coolly stating: “There is good news and bad news. Which one do you guys want to hear first?”

“Good news.” Qin Fei doesn’t even think about it, “You can forgo the bad news.”

Fang Luofan naturally can’t do that: “I think it’s better to share the bad news first — In the fourth PGL’s invitational playoffs, among the eight teams that were invited, we aren’t included.”

Dead silence.

Qin Fei scrunches his brows, holding his tongue.

In the end, it is still Luo Yiming who blurts out: “Aren’t we the Top 8?! Which goddamned team took our spot?!”

“SoS.” Fang Luofan answers, “The team that was ranked 8th in the 2nd PGL.”

“SoS? Isn’t that the team we crushed in the last tournament?” Luo Yiming expresses his discontent. “What right do they have to get the invitation while we don’t?”

In situations like this, it is Qin Fei who is calmer instead: “At least SoS didn’t rack up a score as humiliating as -14.”

In the 3rd PGL, after pg rose to the Top 8, they were demolished time and again by the other seven teams during the tournament, inevitably causing people to become suspicious of pg‘s true abilities. Moreover, since pg has been changing their members all along, one also can’t blame the event planners for giving up on the unstable pg, opting instead to go for the former Top 8, SoS, that was brutally eliminated in the 3rd PGL.

“So, what is the good news?” Han Leng asks.

Fang Luofan evenly looks at him: “We gained one extra week of training time, and we managed to secure a practice match with SoS.”

Again, the room goes deafeningly silent.

At this moment, Ye Hong has finally finished photocopying Jing Yu’s ID card.

He passes the two sheets back to Fang Luofan, returns the card to Jing Yu, and subsequently, sinks back into his seat, his expression heavy.

Jing Yu quietly puts away his ID card. He doesn’t even dare to breathe too loudly. Until–

“Heh……” Qin Fei suddenly lets out a laugh, the sound impossibly lighthearted, “Why all the long faces? It’s as if you’ve lost already. Why do I seem to recall, the actual competition hasn’t even begun yet?”

In an instant, everyone’s gazes all fall upon him. Yet, as if they weigh nothing, he unhurriedly continues: “Isn’t it just the Elimination Round? It’s not like we haven’t beaten it before. If we fought our way into the Top 8 once, we can do it a second time. And this time, our goal isn’t just the Top 8 alone.”

“That’s right, we’re aiming for the championship!” Luo Yiming recalls suddenly, as though shaken awake from a dream.

“Isn’t it just the invitational playoffs? It’s not like we have to go. Anyways, don’t the last two teams still have to play in the Qualifiers?” Han Leng also snaps back to his senses, “So what if we win the championship? Only when we start from rock bottom, overcoming each hurdle as we level up; Only under the situation where nobody is expecting us to take the championship, but we still do it — Only then can it feel good!”

“You’ve been reading too many rags-to-riches novel ba.” Ye Hong can’t resist roasting. However, he can’t deny it. Han Leng’s words make his blood surge a bit, “You’re right though. It’s just starting over from scratch.”

The tense atmosphere relaxes by no small amount. Fang Luofan secretly heaves a sigh of relief, patting Qin Fei’s shoulder: “The practice match with SoS has been fixed at 6 pm tomorrow. Before that, make sure you all train hard. Jing Yu, your new account still hasn’t made it into the Ranking list. You only have today to make it to Diamond rank. Can you do it?”

Jing Yu nods his head in a steadfast manner: “I can.”

“Okay. When you’ve reached the Diamond rank, you’ll join the rest in Ranking mode. Qin Fei has already briefed you about the direction of the training, right?”

“En. He has.”

“That’s good.” Fang Luofan concudes, looking towards the others, “Before Jing Yu hits Diamond rank, Yiming and Han Leng, tag-match. Qin Fei and Ye Hong, solo. Every match must be dragged beyond half an hour before you can put an end to it. Especially Ye Hong. Your latter stage is too poor. You better train hard for this, you hear that?”

“Understood!”

“In that case, let’s begin!”

Fang Luofan stamps the two sets of contracts before passing one to Jing Yu to keep for reference. Then, he makes a call to the manager, requesting her to use pg‘s Weibo** to send a weibo**:

(**Weibo: Chinese micro-blogging site, sort of like this one. Their posts really are just called ‘weibo’, itself. To distinguish the two, I shall use ‘Weibo’ for the site, ‘weibo’ for the post)

~·~

@pgClubV: For the sake of strengthening the entire team, pgClub has undergone vigorous discussion and made the following adjustments to the team:

Although the original solo-laner is talented, his style does not compliment pg. Hence, he has taken his leave. The new season shall see the former jungler @pg-SleepV take on the spot of the solo-laner. The jungler shall be played by the new member, pg-gF @Gold_Fish_not_Salted_Fish. All other members shall remain unchanged.

~·~

Not long after the Weibo was sent out, there is already a brewing discussion.

For the most part, the spectators are already desensitized to pg‘s ever-changing line-up. Yet, the situation makes an unprecedented turn this time — The new member actually didn’t take up the solo-laner position, but instead, he’ll play the jungler?!

【Fei Ge’s solo-laning?!】

【Is the new jungler really so impressive? He actually squeezed out the team’s core?】

【What is Upstairs saying? Even if Fei Ge’s solo-laning, he’s still the heart of pg!】

【Agreed! Even if God Sleepy is sleeping in the the competition, he can still carry the team!】

【Huan? This new jungler seems to be a live streamer?】

【AAAAAAHHHH! I know this livestreamer! Goldfish my HUBBY!】

Suddenly, the comments section is flooded with a wave of bewildering comments:

【Frozen Heart is undefeatable!】

【Can we finally see Frozen Heart in the pro-League?!】

【Goldfish, you are Frozen Heart’s greatest hope! Never submit to those pro players!】

【What the hell? Why is everyone spamming Frozen Heart???】

【Which hole did these people crawl out from? Are they mad?】

Fang Luofan sees the comments when he manages to squeeze out some free time, and uncontrollably raising his brows — Jing Yu’s Frozen Heart is famous?

Tempted by curiosity, he ends up scrolling through Jing Yu’s Weibo, clicking on a few of his past videos to view. The more he sees, the more astounded he is.

The mainland server’s Top Frozen Heart… Although it is only the Internet’s wishful thinking, perhaps, when the 4th PGL is over, this title really might be belong to Jing Yu.

Fang Luofan couldn’t help but chuckle. Suddenly, he feels a little eager — the 4th PGL, it should be very interesting ba.

Jing Yu indeed doesn’t disappoint everyone. Within a day’s time, he brings his wholly new account up to Diamond rank.

After dinner, he logs into his Weibo, intending to announce his entry into pg and thereby request two days of leave from his regular viewers. But unexpectedly, he’d already received a gaggle of PMs and comments.

Only then does he know, his entry into pg has already been announced.

“The announcement’s so effective.” Jing Yu helplessly beams, forwarding pg‘s weibo and applying for his leave on the way.

After resting for a short while, the five people begin to Team Battle* all the way till 11.30 at night.

(*Team Battle: Entering the game as a team. Not battling amongst themselves)

“We’ll leave it here for today. Go take a shower and rest up early.” Fang Luofan instructs, “Qin Fei, don’t log out just yet. I’ll be reviewing the team’s performance today and summarizing the points that need improvement.”

“Sure.” Qin Fei yawns as he rises from the chair, “You guys, hurry up and shower. I’m heading back to my room first.”

pg‘s bathrooms are all single occupancy rooms. There’s one on the first floor, and another on the second floor.

Before Jing Yu came along, Luo Yiming and Han Leng are always the ones to go first, before it’s Ye Hong and Qin Fei’s turn.

Now, after Jing Yu has moved in…

“Goldfish, you bathe first ba!” Luo Yiming very graciously declares.

“Yup, Goldfish, you go first!” Han Leng’s not willing to lose out, “Yiming, you also go first. I’ll join the second batch.”

When he’s facing Han Leng, Luo Yiming is totally unrestrained: “Alright! Goldfish, you go upstairs, I’ll take the one on the first floor.”

Unable to decline their good will, Jing Yu can only answer in a docile manner: “Okay, thank you.”

The first batch is settled. As for the second batch… Ye Hong and Han Leng turn to look at Qin Fei at the same time.

The edges of his lips turn up: “…What are you looking at me for? Call me when you’re done!”

“Ok~” Ye Hong is so delighted he even throws in a sign — That’s exactly what he wants to hear!

Qin Fei rolls his eyes, heading upstairs.

He has only just stepped into his room when the phone in his pocket suddenly vibrates violently.

It’s already so late. Who is it?

Qin Fei scrunches his brows, closing the door with one hand whilst pulling out his phone with the other. The caller ID displays “Xiao Yun”.

“Tsk.” Qin Fei bears a face full of reluctance as he presses down to accept the call, “Still not sleeping yet ah, Manager Xiao.”

“Call me Sis.” A practiced voice recites from the phone, emotionless as can be.

“Still not sleeping yet ah, Sis.” Qin Fei repeats nonchalantly. He sits down before his study table, tidying up the surface of the desk with a hand. When several stacks of gamers’ guidebooks are removed, a sheet of rough paper filled to the brim with his signature is revealed.

“There is good news and bad news. Which one do you want to hear first?”

“…” This familiar question makes Qin Fei heavily question the relationship between this woman and Fang Luofan, “Have you been infected by Fang Luofan?”

Xiao Yun feigns ignorance, indifferently informing: “I’ve discussed it with your family. The good news is, henceforth, they won’t ever force you to marry, neither will they bother you ever again.”

“Oh?”

“The bad news is, every single asset belonging to your father will be inherited by your younger brother. You won’t receive half a cent.”

“And then?”

“No more.”

“Heh…” Qin Fei chuckles, picking up a pen to sign his name over and over again. He even ends it off with a ‘pg-Sleep’, “This news ain’t too bad ma. I never wanted his money to begin with. Let’s not talk about this. Right now, I am faced with a grievous problem. It’s even more problematic than the matter you’ve just said.”

“What is it?”

“My autograph’s so ugly ah. Can you help me design one?”

“……Why don’t you just die.”
