"What the hell is wrong with you?" Nara angrily shouted while Jeffrey moved instantly between her and Bloom. "Stay back, he is very dangerous right now."

Bloom didn't move, yet his mind was still trying to make sense of what just happened. In his mind the final image with Nara stabbing him with the two daggers was fresh.

"Two daggers," he suddenly muttered while glancing over her to see the usual sword she used to have. "Damn, what the hell is going on?"

His words made the group in front of him speechless. "Are you alright?" Nara couldn't help but ask.

"I'm…" Bloom didn't know what to say except he sheathed his two swords and went towards them, "where are you just now?"

"I was buying potions," she said while watching him move to sit back on his seat.

"Good," he said with a distracted mind.

"What is going on with you?" she asked while he only showed a struggle expression on his face.

"Can you have a dream inside a game?" he suddenly asked and he was completely serious about this question.

But others just exchanged glances before smiling helplessly. "Bloom, people might say we are already playing in a dream world created by the game," Nara said.

"I mean dreaming…" he paused as he touched the table with both palms while adding, "in the game itself. Like you sleep here and get a dream."

"I never heard of something like that before," Nara honestly replied, "is this what happened to you?"

Just before he could answer her, a message came from the game announcing a strange thing.

"System alert: the game is going to lock down for twenty four hours to perform an update and maintenance. Please visit the main site of the game to check on the new additions in the update."

"Update?" Bloom was speechless for a moment there, "I have not heard of many updates in the past but no one was this soon," he inwardly thought before a countdown timer appeared giving him  and other players only ten seconds to log out.

"Wow, this is unexpected," Nara said this before Bloom was kicked alongside everyone else outside the game.

"What is going on?" Bloom didn't even get a grasp over what he just experienced before he was faced with such a strange update.

"You were kicked out as well?" Antoan came this moment with a puzzled look over his face, "the game didn't open for so long and there is already an update… is this due to what you caused inside of the darkness era?"

"No, I doubt it," Bloom shook his head before narrating what happened to him minutes before the update.

"That's… quite suspicious," Antoan said before adding, "we should check the website first and see the official announcement before making any bolder conclusions."

Bloom couldn't agree more on his words and then he opened the screen of his and checked the official announcement of the game.

"This update…" Bloom kept reading and everything was simply not good. "The unlocking of the players' manual skill system? That's absurd!"

He was speechless of such an update, and only his recent dungeon clearance made quite sense for such an update that aimed towards restraining players at this important stage. "Are there other schemes hidden behind the darkness era?"

His mind kept revolving around such thought while he kept reading about useless updates regarding some gears and skills being added to the skill trees of players until he found something that made his mind stop what he was doing and started to analyze this.

"This is suspicious," Antoan muttered while pointing towards number fifteen in the update list while adding, "this is talking about bug fixing and some operation errors."

"I noticed," Bloom sighed before he squeezed his temples with both hands, "we need more info."

"I'll contact him," Antoan only said those words and Bloom understood who he was referring to. "Alright, send him a message and tell me of any updates."

Antoan nodded and just as he was about to go outside, Bloom stopped him, "send me lunch as well."

Antoan glanced around to see the clock was getting closer to two P.M. he just nodded and went to do his task.

Just before Bloom could finish his meal that was formed of pasta and red velvet steak, Antoan came in with a strange look over his face.

"What's wrong?" Bloom asked, "is the news he said this weird?"

"It's not him," Antoan shook his head before adding, "I received an invitation for you to go and meet miss Natalie."

"Natalie… interesting," Bloom paused for a moment before cutting another piece of his meat, dipped it inside the bitter and spicy sauce beside it as he slowly chewed it while thinking about this invitation. "Is it official? Coming from the Triflet organizers or what?"

"I believe it's coming from her," Antoan said before adding, "the chauffeur who delivered it belongs to Miss Natalie and not her CEOs."

"That's logic indeed," he only said that before continuing to eat his meal, "how about him?"

"Still no answer."

"Keep waiting," Bloom said as he finished eating, "when will the dinner be? And where?"

"It's in Miss Natalie's mansion," Antoan said while stretching an opened envelope to him, "as for the time, she didn't specify."

Bloom opened the envelope and started reading the small and neatly designed invitation letter. "A ball dance dinner on the honor of me?" he felt strange about such invitation before turning to Antoan, "was it sealed when you got it?"

"Yes, and I was the one to open it after carefully examining the message to see if there is any problem in it."

"Hmm…" Bloom flipped the paper in his hand more than once before he added, "I don't like this, was there any mention of such a procedure?"

"I do recall something like this," Antoan hurried to open his screen before looking for the Triflet challenge info and started reading it. "Indeed there is such a thing. It's organized under the name of each competitor and the CEOs are the ones to arrange it."

"Each one of us has a single chance to meet her on a dancing night, right?" Bloom asked, "no one is allowed to interfere, no one?"

"It says here if any of you two trespassed over the other night then the overall assessment will be negatively impacted by this act," Antoan read up to here before raising his head, "as this is considered a dirty act from the two competitors."

Bloom sat on his own seat while immersed in deep thinking about this. "Is there any reference to the date of my invitation? The order?"

"No, it's only written that the organizers will notify you on the day of the dinner."

"So we can't tell if this is real or fake," Bloom took a deep breath before adding, "it's best not to show up then, I don't guarantee if this is a true invitation or a dirty scheme from Dockrey."

"But master," Antoan returned to read the agreement again before adding, "you can't skip a single ceremony of the challenge or you'll be considered defeated by forfeit."

"Really?" Bloom helplessly smiled before adding, "then hurry up and check the authenticity of this invitation. I don't want to fall like a fool in my enemy's obvious trap."

"At once," Antoan turned to leave while Bloom stayed there thinking about this invitation and more importantly about what he just experienced inside the game.

"Was it a dream?" he softly muttered while his mind couldn't give him a concrete answer. "But it felt… too real," he was in a dilemma but the facts in front of him all pointed towards the possibility of being inside a dream.

"Why do things look this bad for me all of sudden?" he sighed while helplessly waiting for Antoan to come and bring him good results.

During his wait he consumed time in reading the game update over and over again. "This is too early as I recall," he once heard about such an update but it was after four years in the game.

And it wasn't the first update at all.

"If this one had this limitation to players, then the next one should unlock the skill creation tool for players," he smiled as this was the era he was anticipating to rule over the game if he wanted.

"Damn," suddenly he realized something, "this game is really good. It even turned me into a slow and steady fan," he bitterly laughed, "wasn't I supposed to play here to ruin the game? Why then thinking about ruling it?"

He could only laugh while starting to recall his skills and how to perform them.

"I've got an answer from the CEOs," Antoan said when he finally appeared in front of Bloom.

"And?"

"They said it's a legit invitation, but…" he paused before adding, "I doubt this is true."

Bloom didn't comment as he only motioned to him to continue, "the one who answered me is someone I already know about his undying loyalty for Dockrey's camp. He can't give me trusted info and strangely enough every time I try to reach the CEO board he will be the one to answer me."

"Dockrey's supporter, hmm…" Bloom pauses while deeply thinking about something. "Is he the man I once met? Or someone that works for him?"

"I think it's mostly a trap," Antoan said it clearly at last, "we shouldn't go."

"I agree with you," Bloom nodded before adding, "but we need to safeguard against this. Dress up, we are going out."
