He closed the website and stared for a long time at the ceiling doing nothing and not thinking about anything at all. "I should consider this game serious then," he muttered while his gut feeling kept telling him to do so.
"We are ready," finally Antoan returned and the world outside turned dark, "I again have to say this… this visit is a very bad move."
"Just go along with me and you'll see," Bloom stood up as he added, "I won't let that prick have everything the way he wanted."
"Sigh, I'm feeling you are already playing in his trap."
"Not a chance."
The two descended and rode the car towards the shining lights of the city around. Bloom was distracted by his own thoughts while Antoan kept his silence and solemn look while the car roared in the streets of the city.
"Do you manage to reach him?" Bloom suddenly asked.
"Not for a single time," Antoan shook his head solemnly, "and that disturbs me more. It's not his habit to stay away from his phone for such a long time."
"Maybe he is quite busy with something," Bloom said, trying to have hope.
"Or he is having something bad," Antoan said the darkest thought he had in mind, "I fear he might get hurt."
"For supporting me?"
"Indeed."
"We'll see," Bloom kept his silence and his thoughts to himself as he intended to retaliate fiercer if such a thing happened.
And Antoan just kept his silence and didn't express any of his worries.
"We have arrived," Antoan said when the car suddenly decelerated to stop in front of a metallic gate with some guards. "The security here is fine," he added, "slightly off the norm."
Bloom took this note and only nodded.
"What are you doing here?" one of the guards asked the driver who simply stated the purpose of their visit.
"Alright, go ahead then."
The gates were opened and the car started moving in again. "This is such a nice mansion," Bloom expressed his impression over the mansion he stood in front of, "I bet in the morning this will be a hell of a scene."
"Indeed," Antoan simply answered while whispering again, "it's not too late to retreat now."
"Let's go up," Bloom answered while moving towards the stairs.
"Mr. Terry, it's quite a surprise to see you here tonight."
Just as the two of them entered the giant hall of the palace, they were met by the doubting eyes of the old man, the leader of the CEO board.
"May I ask what you are doing here? This is Dockrey's night, not yours," the old man spoke in a normal tone but his attitude seemed quite strict.
And Bloom even felt many eyes fall over him and even the nearby Antoan was getting nervous.
"I'm here based on this invitation," he calmly took out the invitation he received before adding, "I came here tonight not for Miss Natalie but for someone else."
The gaze of the old man was so deep that he felt he could penetrate and see through him. He took the invitation and checked it before he returned it to him. "The date is wrongly written here, your time is tomorrow."
"I know," Bloom returned the invitation again to the old man before adding, "I came here to ask for an investigation about this mistake. After all if I have no other business here tonight then I would have put myself into a deep sh*t, right?"
The old man took the paper and only nodded. "What do you want to do here then?" he asked.
"I told you," Bloom cracked a smile, "I'm here to meet someone."
"May I ask who he is?"
"It's a she," Bloom corrected, "and she is Miss Peri, Miss Natalie's assistant."
"Servant," Dockrey suddenly approached with a wide smile over his face, an evil one, "strange to come into my party and ask to meet the servant. Isn't this a bit… out of place?"
"None of your business… loser," Bloom sneered before totally ignoring him as he turned his gaze and body to the old man, "excuse me, I have a meeting to attend."
"Good luck," the old man stood there and didn't know what to say except that.
"I expect to hear news regarding this mistake soon, right?"
Bloom didn't intend to make it easier on Dockrey or his camp. His voice was loud enough to be heard by many, and he then moved towards the front not even waiting for the answer of the old man.
He wasn't requesting, he was ordering and he intended for this intention to be delivered perfectly to everyone.
He moved amidst the heavy gazes falling on him as he headed directly towards Natalie and Peri.
"You are… such a troublemaker," Natalie couldn't help but chuckle.
"It's not my fault that someone was trying to scheme me," he shrugged, "I hate schemes and I love rebounding them back to the face of those who committed them."
"Interesting," Natalie softly laughed before turning to Peri, "what business do you have with my Peri?"
"I told you before," Bloom spoke like it was something obvious, "I wanted to discuss with her our terms of alliance inside the game."
Natalie raised her eyebrow while Peri simply chuckled. "You are quite daring, ain't you?"
"Indeed," he smiled before adding, "let's go somewhere private to continue our little discussion."
"First before anything," Peri said before moving, "I won't agree on any offer from you."
It was Bloom's turn to raise an eyebrow this time. "Why is that?"
"I don't like you, simply given like this."
