Chapter 040

I exit the airlock, my skin, eyes, and lungs being fine with the hard vacuum since level one, cast a fleeting Fly spell on myself, and head to where Stephanie *should* be waiting… a fleeting spell True Seeing, and there she is; I make my way to her airlock, and enter through her mouth, my head still pounding enough that I’m not thinking about the visuals of this too much.

As soon as I’m on board, I flag Stephanie, “Did you get the data packet for the survey mission?”

“Aye captain,” she confirms.

Euler meets me at the airlock, Cowbird in tow, “Okay, we’ve updated the entertainment archives, would you like to review our choices?”

Euler, my head hurts, I really just want to get to my cabin and handle this, “I’m sure it’s fine.  I just want to get underway,” I turn so it’s clear I’m not directly addressing Euler or Cowbird, “Stephanie, plot a course, I’ll be in my cabin.”

“Aye Captain,” she confirms as I head to my quarters.

When I get there, I sit down.  Okay Patricia… and she summons my ‘laptop’ (which is really just a manifestation from my own mind) to begin the level up process for level five.

Spoiler

Let’s see… I should get something so I don’t need to worry about my eidolon suit running out of hit points and vanishing on me, as that’s where I get a lot of my skill and attack bonuses.  Ah, of course; Fused Link, from the Synthesist Summoner.  It lets me spend my own hit points to keep my Eidolon from falling below zero and vanishing.  As I have regeneration that recovers my full normal hit point total without any kind of bypass, and can keep conscious below zero hit points, that will do just fine.  A simple ten points spent there.

Next up… I don’t like the idea of things being immune to me, and Mythic spells are fun, so I think I’ll grab Primordial Lore from the Dark Walker template - it lets me use the Mythic version of any spell I know (and I can temporarily add spells known to myself via spells), and makes it so immunities and resistances simply don’t work when I’m the caster.  You know, just in case I want to cast Dominate Monster on an insect or something.  That’s another ten of my thirty points spent.

For the last… Dual Actions from the Serpentir (Monster Manual V).  It’s a beastie with a challenge rating of four, and that specific ability gives it two full sets of actions every round… and leaving everyone else in the dust like that is going to be some kind of fun.

I also have a feat, of course… I’d nab Invisible Spell, but everything I do has obvious effects regardless… eh, it’ll be great on Summons and things.  My imaginary friends will be able to beat people up. Heh.

Light Body Technique grants Air Stunt at this level… but I can fly whenever I want, so that's kind of pointless… Attuned Mysticism gets another option due to the native increase in my caster level; I think I will go with Constructs, so I can apply type specific spells to Euler and Stephanie.

My eidolon advances; another hit die, two more points of natural armor, more Strength and dexterity, another evolution point… Skilled, as usual… and an ability point for the fourth hit die… I'm adding it to Strength, I think, as the Constitution and Dexterity scores barely matter.

Numbers go up for skills, hit points, and stamina points… saves don’t change here… more spell slots and spells known… eidolon update changes my armor class… temporary hit points from the same… there we go.

I review my choices,  nod and… oh, my headache goes away as my hallucinatory laptop fades from existence, and my chest puffs out a bit more, my pants feel tighter, and my waistline looser.

Huh. Thinking about casting spells on Stephanie. I could put Superior Invisibility on her new frame before moving her over, as it WILL affect objects… and hopefully if I apply the invisibility first, it won't cause her issues. That… would be permanent, high-end stealth (it explicitly stops everything except touch), works at any speed AND while firing, AND it doesn't cost any build points.

The only downside being that we couldn't turn it off, and would all need True Seeing for basic interactions with her.  I could trade in the cloak.  If I go that route…

Spoiler

A hundred fifty five build points to spend at tier six. The base frame of a Bulk Freighter costs fifty five build points, an Abysium Nova Light core costs seventeen, H4 thrusters cost four, a Mark I tetranode computer costs four (useful for analyzing planets during survey work, and also grants minor bonuses during combat), luxury crew quarters cost three with my usual choice of manufacturer, a signal basic drift engine costs ten, a shuttle bay four, upgrading the turret to have a heavy mount costs six, putting a Particle Beam on it costs twenty, the sensors I go for are twenty-three, leaving room for Light 60 shields (eight points) and Sensor Drones (one point).

… which lets me have my cake and eat it, too. Stealth, a nice weapon on a turret (so I don'tcare what angle people use when coming at us), shields, luxury quarters, a shuttle bay, a drift engine, the best scanners around, and a computer that lets me analyze celestial objects quickly. Finally, a GOOD plan.

Just one possible wrinkle… “Stephanie, how would you feel about your next frame being permanently stealthy, so that nobody outside your hull could see you? Turning it off wouldn't be an option.”

That gives her pause, “What do you mean, captain?”

“I have a spell I can apply to your next frame prior to putting you in it,” well… assuming I take a while to take the ship apart, apply Superior Invisibility to each individual component, and then put it back together… that will take a while, and is necessary due to weight limits within the spell, “that would make the new frame invisible, forever, to the point where the only ways you could be found would be a specific spell (which I would put on all crew members), by someone actually touching you, or by indirect effects like seeing you bounce an asteroid off your hull. Which would be SWEET, but for practical purposes, I wouldn't be able to turn it off, ever,” I'd have to go through and touch ever piece to remove the spell. “But it would let you go as fast as you can, and even shoot other ships, while still avoiding being seen.  What are your thoughts on the matter?”

“It's not like I get to socialize outside of remote connections anyway, captain,” I can practically hear her rolling her eyes, “That sounds fine.”

No, I’m not worried about Euler, Cowbird, the summons, or guests. Euler is a BE addict and will love more flesh on her chest, Cowbird views herself as my property to do with as I will, summons don't seem to be affected the same way, we have yet to have guests, and guests should be escorted anyway, and thus don't need to see everything.

I nod, “Good. We'll go that route, then: All the stealth we could want, and some firepower.” I pause, “Oh, and as long as I have your attention… it's time for another scan….”

“Certainly Mistress,” Stephanie responds as I take off my shirt and dismiss the illusion, “Eight hundred cubic centimeters per side, a very large 34E or a very small 34F.”

I nod and replace the illusion of my c-cup frame… as well as my now-tight shirt, “And with another sixty CC's per side?”

“A tiny bit over a 34F,” my ship reports.

So a “normal” big bust porn star chest.  Great. Oh. And as soon as I drop True Seeing on Euler and Cowbird… they'll see me that way too.  How to fix… ah, “What would another ninety cc's per side do?”

“For a total of nine hundred fifty, Mistress?” She pauses, and I nod, “A very large 34F, just a little shy of a 34G… although at that point you would probably be more comfortable with the G size.”

Which starts getting into fetish fake massive melons territory… ugh. But if I don't want them knowing I'm getting it bad too… okay.  I can live with this… they haven't been getting in the way so far, despite not binding thrm up with a brassiere… part of the fantasy, I guess. A quick Fleeting Spell on One Step Beyond (it’s a third-party, ninth level spell; stops all divinations cold, explicitly including True Seeing… and also gives a bonus vs. Mind-Affecting spells, but I'm immune to those anyway) later, my outfit is a bit too tight across my chest, hips, and rear, while being annoyingly loose at my waist. Still… it's done.

“Thank you Stephanie,” I begin, “Please don't spread my body's status around, hmm?”

“Of course not, Mistress,” at least my ship is obedient.

I go look at myself in the mirror; my twin orbs are a good six inches across… each! Ugh.

I draw a hot bath, strip, and step inside to relax away the stress of the day, setting the gemstone with the trapped assassin on a shelf. After a few minutes, I start to get bored, ans wonder: What did they pick for the entertainment archives? “Stephanie, play a random holovid from the archives, please.”

“Yes Mistress,” Stephanie complies, “Please enjoy ‘Meat Mountains 12: Brojobs’.”

Wait, what?
