In my past life, I had a dog named Max. He was a tiny chihuahua who loved to wag his tail and chase after female dogs, often drooling when I stopped him from doing so.

Unfortunately, he had a respiratory problem that caused him to cough badly whenever the winds blew in dust. I lived near a desert, so this happened often.

One day, after a particularly severe coughing fit, Max collapsed on the ground. His tiny legs kicked helplessly, like a turtle's, before he took his last breath.

I loved that dog, but one must learn to let go as an adult.

"Master, piggy hungry." Compared to my dog. this stupid hollow, wagging his bushy tail at me was annoying. but it was the only hollow capable of talking among the subordinates I have collected. Besides, he had proven himself useful in tracking down prey.

"Piggy, I'm aware you're hungry." I said, clacking my teeth in annoyance. "We need to hunt a new prey."

Piggy nodded eagerly, his beady eyes shining. "Piggy will find the prey, master. Piggy is a good hunter."

I stopped a bit, looking at the brown hollow. "Maybe I can eat a pig-dog instead of hunting." I mused, narrowing my gaze at Piggy in an attempt to intimidate him.

Piggy's face fell, and he looked around nervously. "Yes, master. Piggy won't let you down."

Chuckling to myself, I watched as the small, round hollow scurried off into the distance. I shook my head in amusement, thinking about how different this new life was compared to my old one.

As I slithering through the barren desert, I kept my senses alert for any signs of prey. I heard the distant scurrying of small hollows, but nothing that caught my attention.

Suddenly, a powerful spiritual pressure caught my attention. I could feel the power emanating from a group of Gillians that had banded together.

I motioned to my subordinates, a deer, a gorilla, and a wolf-like hollow, to follow me towards the source of the spiritual pressure.

As we approached the group of Gillians, I could see that there were about thirty of them. None of them had the will necessary to evolve, but that didn't make them any less dangerous.

The Gillians noticed us running towards them and began to roar loudly. One of them charged up a Cero and fired it in our direction.

Piggy's quick reflexes allowed him to dodge the Cero with ease, and he followed up with a series of playful gestures towards the gillians.

"Why is it always Piggy?" I chuckled, amused by his antics. Piggy swung one of his paws while charging his own Cero. "Piggy hates gillians."

"That's because you are the most funny looking," I quipped before charging my own Cero. My other subordinates stayed back, knowing that they were no match for the gillians.

My beam hit ten gillians like a crescent, the hollows dropping to the sand with ear-piercing screams. Most of them split in half. Meanwhile, Piggy's Cero barely killed one of the gillians.

Seeing this, the remaining gillians fired their Ceros at us. But we easily dodged them, barely feeling the heat emanating from the burnt sand.

I brought out the hidden spikes on my arms and approached the nearest enemy.

As I approached the gillian, it roared and charged towards me with its claws extended. I swiftly dodged its attack and countered with a barrage of punches. My fists landed on its face and torso, each hit sending a shockwave through its body. The gillian stumbled back, but before I could stab it, it unleashed another Cero.

I jumped back and fired a powerful Cero of my own. The beam collided with the gillian's attack, creating a massive explosion that shook the ground. Sand and smoke filled the air, making it difficult to see.

When the smoke cleared, I saw that most of the gillians had been taken down. A few were still standing, but they were badly injured.

Piggy made quick work of them. “Time to eat,” Piggy called out while the other hollows approached, the gorilla scratching its head. The weak hollows could only eat a small portion of a Gillian while I would never get full.

“Piggy wonders how many more we need to eat to evolve,” the dog-pig asked, looking at me expectantly, his cheeks almost bursting.

“I can feel it. I could keep eating and I would never get full,” I responded, staring at the corpses of the Gillians. “However, I had this feeling I could become a Vasto Lorde anytime, I am just lacking a small push.”

“I don't think we can do it alone,” he added.

“I know,” I sighed as I started a new meal.
