The system’s actions this time caught Li Xi off guard. However, trying to suppress him within the space he constructed was too easy for the system.

“Bug detected, extermination in progress,” the system’s cold, mechanical voice rang out.

Li Xi raised an eyebrow. “Exterminate me?”

Magic swirled around him, effortlessly dispersing the energy pressing in from all sides.

“Just this level of effort?” Li Xi sighed. “Disturbing my time with Duan Duan… If I could find you, I would have kicked you out of my world long ago.”

He turned to leave, but suddenly, the system’s alarm sounded sharply. The energy in the small world quickly converged, forming a tornado-like formation that rushed toward Li Xi at incredible speed.

Li Xi glanced up, saying nothing, only extending his hand. Unseen, immense magical power overflowed from his hand, successfully blocking the tornado.

If anyone were to witness this scene of man vs. nature, they would surely be terrified, but for Li Xi, it was just basic operation. With his power, he could easily conjure up natural disasters alone.

The tornado gradually dissipated, and Li Xi sighed, about to withdraw, when he felt a chilling force suddenly stab out from the center of the tornado. Caught off guard, he managed to block most of it.

The energy was insidious and venomous, quickly corroding his organs with just a thread entering his body. The impact of the energy collision also made Li Xi stagger back a few steps, feeling uncomfortable.

His internal magic quickly circulated, eliminating the energy.

With the danger eliminated, his expression didn’t relax. Through gritted teeth, he said, “Clemens, are you trying to start a war?”

He knew the attack was aimed at his heart, and if he hadn’t blocked it, he would probably be close to death now.

“How could I?” Clemens emerged from the shadows, his smile unchanged, looking particularly sincere. “I just wanted to help you. It’s just that the energy was used by the system. I’m sorry about that. Would you be willing to give me a chance to make it up to you?”

“Not interested,” Li Xi replied coldly.

Who would believe his words?

Li Xi couldn’t be bothered to argue with him. He had been injured in the sneak attack just now, and fighting now would not yield any benefits. If his injuries worsened, he might even miss the chance to enter the instance with Duan Duan. It wasn’t worth it. He wouldn’t make a deal that didn’t benefit him.

“Are you leaving so soon, little Phil?” Clemens looked surprised. “Have you been influenced by the cowardice of humans after staying with them for so long?”

“I was originally human,” Li Xi stopped in his tracks. “Also, don’t casually dissect someone’s name.”

His name was Senafel. Calling him Phil meant something else entirely.

“But little Phil doesn’t allow me to call you by your given name,” Clemens lamented. “I just want to be closer to you.”

Li Xi pointed to his heart. “Closer?”

Did he want to kill him and then gouge out his eyes kind of closer?

“Besides, does little Phil still think he’s human?” Clemens ignored his skepticism, continuing to smile. “Ever since integrating Senafel into your body all those years ago, you’re no longer human.”

“My race isn’t for you to determine,” Li Xi glared at him.

“Are you planning to keep hiding your identity?” Clemens continued, “If those people knew your true identity, their expressions would be quite amusing.”

Li Xi frowned, sensing Clemens’ mischief. “What are you up to?”

Clemens didn’t answer, just gazing at his eyes with fascination. “Truly beautiful.”

He took a step forward, wanting to reach out and touch. Li Xi frowned, about to push him away, but then he heard someone shout, “Stop!”

Li Xi was taken aback, turning his head. “Duan Duan?”

Duan Zhen pulled him behind him, looking wary. “What do you want to do to Li Xi?”

“Just a friendly exchange,” Clemens seemed surprised by this unexpected turn of events, but quickly regained his composure, licking his lips slightly. “You must be Duan Zhen? I’ve heard a lot about you from little Phil.”

Li Xi peeked out from behind Duan Zhen. “Don’t act like we’re close.”

He pulled on Duan Zhen’s sleeve. “Duan Duan, let’s go.”

As Duan Zhen was being pulled away by Li Xi, he suddenly turned her head, revealing a thin scar on her cheek.

The wound was small, only oozing a few drops of blood, and the faint smell of blood might not be detectable to ordinary people, but Li Xi immediately turned his head, his eyes filled with killing intent.

Energy surged around him, completely unnoticed by Duan Zhen, but Clemens quickly retreated, casting a deep glance at Duan Zhen before blending into the darkness.

“Duan Duan, are you okay?” Li Xi managed to suppress the surge of anger in his heart and spoke in a softer tone. “Come to my room, I’ll help you disinfect the wound.”

“It’s just a minor cut,” Duan Zhen shook his head, refusing.

It would heal soon even if left untreated.

“No,” Li Xi unexpectedly insisted. “Being injured by that kind of person requires disinfection.”

He clenched his lips tightly, seeming particularly angry, and pulled Duan Zhen back to the room. From the drawer, he took out cotton balls for disinfection and carefully dabbed at Duan Zhen’s wound.

He wiped it several times, but his movements were gentle, afraid of causing him pain.

“Li Xi,” Duan Zhen noticed his unusual state and softened his tone. “Are you feeling upset?”

“Of course,” Li Xi tossed the cotton ball aside, his eyes turning red. “It’s my fault for not paying attention, letting that guy hurt you… If you hadn’t dodged, things might have been much worse…”

Clemens had indeed aimed at Duan Zhen’s head just now, but because Li Xi was angry and afraid that Duan Zhen would uncover his identity, he didn’t notice. If Duan Zhen hadn’t sensed the danger and dodged it, it wouldn’t have been just a minor cut.

Li Xi shuddered at the thought, holding Duan Zhen tightly, burying his head in his neck.

Duan Zhen didn’t expect him to react so strongly, stiffening his arms. After a while, he slowly patted his back and whispered, “Don’t be afraid, I’m okay, I’m still alive.”

Li Xi took several deep breaths, feeling somewhat relieved.

“That person just now, who was he?” Duan Zhen asked. “Is he…?”

Originally, he wanted to ask if he liked Li Xi, but considering the strange look in his eyes, he hesitated.

“He’s a psycho,” Li Xi said gloomily. “He likes my eyes and has mentioned several times that he wants to dig them out and collect them. He must have deliberately blocked me today.”

At this moment, Li Xi also realized that the system probably found him not only because of his actions in the previous world, but also because Clemens had tampered with it. That sinister bat, he would be killed sooner or later.

Li Xi muttered curses in his heart, but on the surface, he appeared obedient and vulnerable. “Thank you, Duan Duan. The building was shaking terribly just now. I almost fell down and was almost found by that person.”

He held onto Duan Zhen tightly, not letting go. “Duan Duan, can you stay with me today? I’m afraid to be alone.”

Ayaya, Clemens is definitely going to do something concerning Li Xi’s identity, I feel it x_x
