Aalam

Aalam finally mastered the seventh level of the Twelve Element Primal Code with eight days to spare. Then he and Mila spent a few days getting her weaker version of the cultivation technique up to match before Mila summoned a small ornate purple crystal bottle containing three drops of liquid, the so called Primal Code Soul Washing Dew.

The liquid inside appeared to Aalam’s Sensory Domain as pure water, but it obviously wasn’t. As he took off his shirt and lay down in the center of the crafting hall, he could see the visible appearance of the liquid as Mila used Telekinesis to take it out of the bottle, and it was pure white, reflecting all light, both visible and otherwise.

Mila then placed one drop of the dew above his eyes in the center of his forehead, the location of his upper dantian; one at the center of his chest next to his heart, the location of his middle dantian; and one just below his navel, the location of his lower dantian. The dew entered through his body and into his soul, a warm sensation spreading out from his three dantians into all his resource channels, and, over the next five hours, his channels noticeably widened and strengthened, the quality of his soul improving as well.

It wasn’t like how his soul improved when he raised his Soul stat, nor when he increased his Soul stat’s effectiveness, but more like the change he’d felt when he’d upgraded his race from Incubus to Strong Soul Incubus Prince. He could feel his affinity with all Laws rising and, by the end, his affinities were about the same as he would have expected if his race had been Strong Soul Incubus King.

Rising up, he bounced around the room a few times, literally hopping from wall to ceiling to wall, and there was a noticeable improvement in his resource flows.

Before the dew, with just the Twelve Element Primal Code, he’d grown able to use three different Laws at the same time, albeit not mixed together, and his twelve medium sized mana wells were all elementalized with one of the twelve elements. At the same time, his qi flowed smoother and with more force while his psyforce traveled through his channels at a much greater speed.

With the Primal Code Soul Washing Dew added on top, however, he almost felt like a completely different person. Every move he made was so much easier, his resources flowing like he’d been practicing with them for his entire life instead of only seven years, and he could make use of four Laws at once.

“Alright.” Aalam nodded toward Mila, Diana, Isaiah, and Epecteos, the latter three having been in the room the entire time to watch his transformation. “This is awesome.

“Now let’s summon the Soul Carver.”

He then removed a container holding one of their two remaining Highgenion Flowers from the sub-dimension of the Left Hand of the Runescribe and rushed out the door, running at max speed toward the beach next to the enlightenment zone’s main residence, the other four quickly following him. Then, nearly six years after they finished the Trial Tower, Mila finally paid for the most expensive item on the Trial Tower’s rewards list, a D rank monster with a Mythical grade race and Empyrean grade bloodline appearing out of thin air and dropping into the Mediterranean Sea.

The Soul Carver looked like a brachiosaurus with fins instead of legs and a slightly shorter neck. And, like a brachiosaurus, it was huge, causing a big splash as it landed in the water. It was also pretty much dead, its soul just about to leave its body.

So, quickly eating the Highgenion Flower, stuffing the purple petals and red stalk into his mouth and chewing as fast as he could, Aalam rushed up to the beast and jumped on top of it, holding onto its scales with both hands and feet. Then he activated his Genetic Thief Bloodline and began to absorb the Soul Carver’s genetic power, taking in the energy from both the beast’s Mythical grade race as well as its Empyrean grade bloodline.

The process took about 20 minutes, and Aalam’s entire soul was in intense pain by the time there was no more energy to absorb, but the benefits of Advanced Multi-Mind showed themselves again and Aalam focused all the pain he was feeling toward one of his minds, leaving the other four to quickly make use of the energy before it could start leaking.

You have used the power of your Genetic Thief bloodline to steal the genetic power of a Soul Carver (Mythic) with the Soul Lord Prince (Empyrean) bloodline.

This power can be used in your next racial advancement.

First, he upgraded two of his racial abilities.

You have chosen to upgrade your racial ability Soul Collector (Epic)

Please choose from the following three possible upgrades.

Soul Collector (Legendary): Gain a unique medium size soulstructure for long term storage of deceased souls. Soul Kitchen (Legendary): Gain a unique small size soulstructure for long term storage of deceased souls. If you eat high quality souls which have been stored for more than a month, your Soul stat has the chance to slightly grow. Soul Laboratory (Legendary): Gain a unique small size soulstructure for long term storage of deceased souls. You gain control of the souls inside, allowing for the extraction of skills and, in special cases, racial and bloodline energy.

Aalam chose the third option, having just unlocked it due to the nature of the Soul Carver race, and it was awesome. In the future, he could easily extract the skills of anyone he killed without the need for expensive and specialized rare materials, so he would no longer be limited to always getting skills from the System. More importantly, future advancements of the racial ability would allow him to generate skills himself, and that especially was going to be fun.

But it was his second racial ability upgrade which would grant an even more important long term benefit to his power.

You have chosen to upgrade your racial ability Nascent Energy Converter (Legendary)

Please choose from the following two possible upgrades.

Nascent/Primal Energy Converter (Heroic): Any extra stats which would be lost due to the stat’s limit having been reached instead become free stats. You may also convert primal energy into free stats with a very poor conversion rate. Nascent Energy Constructor (Heroic): Any extra stats which would be lost due to the stat’s limit having been reached instead become free stats. You may also spend 144 free stats at F rank to increase the size of any small-sized soulstructure to medium. This cost will then go up as rank increases.

The first option he’d had for a while, as it only required him to maximize his stats to unlock, but Diana would be able to unlock that upgrade as well, so there was no benefit to him taking it. The second, however, was part of the power granted by the Empyrean grade Soul Lord Prince bloodline and it was the best possible upgrade for Nascent Energy Converter, at least for the build Aalam had in mind, so he immediately chose it.

Done with upgrading his second racial ability, Aalam then upgraded his new Soul Laboratory racial ability for a second time.

You have chosen to upgrade your racial ability Soul Laboratory (Legendary)

Please choose from the following two possible upgrades.

Soul Laboratory (Heroic): Gain a unique medium size soulstructure for long term storage of deceased souls. You gain control of the souls inside, allowing for the extraction of skills and, in special cases, racial and bloodline energy. Advanced Soul Laboratory (Heroic): Gain a unique small size soulstructure for long term storage of deceased souls. You gain control of the souls inside, allowing for the extraction of skills and, in many cases, racial and bloodline energy.

Aalam chose the second option, his soul itching like during the previous two upgrades. Then he used his new Nascent Energy Constructor racial ability and 144 free stats he’d saved from his Law advancements to increase the size of his advanced soul laboratory to medium, effectively gaining the benefits from both possible upgrades.

Altogether, all the upgrades to his soul took about 34 minutes, and by then it was getting more difficult for his soul to maintain all the genetic power from the Soul Carver, so he couldn’t hold off advancing his race any further.

Mila transferred the long-charmed soul fragment of the Shadow Thief to his soul laboratory, which was now just large enough to hold it, and multiple System messages started to show up in front of his eyes.

You have absorbed the power of one C rank soul fragment consumed by lust.

You have met the criteria to advance your race to E rank

You have the following seven options:
