Chapter 3: The Old Residence (1)</h1>

After eating two bowls of instant noodles without sparing the soup, Mi Wan lingered on the spot for a few minutes before rubbing her stomach, and walked back slowly to the hospital. Since long ago, she had always felt the satisfaction she got from eating and drinking her fill was more comforting than her own trained spiritual aura.

To think the world would have such delicious flavors.

“Didn’t I tell you not to leave your guard post? Where is she?” Mi Wan just walked through the door of her ward when she heard Butler Ye angrily reprimanding someone.

“I’m sorry, I … I noticed the lady hadn’t woken up in a while, so I went to the bathroom.” The security guard in charge of watching Mi Wan felt downright unlucky. He had worked diligently for six to seven hours without leaving and Mi Wan stayed asleep the entire time. He took off halfway to go to the bathroom, and within a total of two minutes, the person he was guarding had disappeared.

“What about her? Where is she?”

“I have searched the hospital, and I haven’t seen the lady, maybe… she’s already left.”

“You…”

“I’m right here.” Mi Wan quickly chimed. She never expected that just going out to eat would get others in trouble.

“Miss?” Butler Ye turned around and when he noticed the satisfied expression on Mi Wan’s satiated face, his eyes immediately narrowed, “Did you inhale more of it again?”

What? Does he mean eating? Whatever, let’s just blindly go along with it.

“Mmhmm.”

Butler Ye took a long deep breath, so that he would not snap. Half a month’s worth of rehabilitation progress has all gone to waste.

Butler Ye couldn’t scold Mi Wan, so he settled on yelling at the security guard who failed his guard duties: “From now on, you are to always have someone outside this ward. If you lose her again, you’re fired.”

The security guard dare not retort. He swiftly returned back to his post outside the door, and even vowed that he would never go to the restroom again during work hours.

“Miss, watch yourself.” With that, Butler Ye left with an expression that was as dark as the bottom of a pot.

Honestly… I just ate two bowls of noodles? I didn’t even spend any money, so why was he so worked up? Mi Wan tilted her head to the side, confused for a second, and then crawled back to bed to resume her sleep.

Hmm ~~~ So soft, wonder if they’ll let me take the bed back after I am discharged from the hospital.

Mi Wan dazedly mused as she fell into slumber.

The next two days, Mi Wan did not try to sneak out, and obediently remained in the hospital for observation. During this period, her body went into withdrawal twice, which she suppressed by using her spiritual force. Two days later, the doctor announced that she could be discharged.

“Where are we going?” Mi Wan asked Butler Ye, who was getting ready to take her away.

“We are returning to the Molin villa.” Butler Ye replied.

“I’m not going!” Back to Molin? Don’t even think about it. It’s been five hundred years. She’s sick of that place.

“Miss, you must fully quit your drug addiction before you’re allowed to go home.” Butler Ye thought that Mi Wan wanted to return back to Mi’s main house.

According to the original drug rehabilitation plan provided by the doctor, three months should have been enough time for the young lady to completely quit her drug addiction. Unexpectedly, just when initial progress had been made, the lady took advantage of the relaxed security and went out to take another drug hit. Half a month’s worth of hard work went down the drain, and the process would have to start from the beginning.

It turned out that when Mi Wan used her spiritual power to suppress her drug withdrawal symptoms the past two days, it indirectly supported Butler Ye’s suspicions. If she didn’t take drugs, how could she not have withdrawal symptoms for two days?

“I’m fine with rehabilitation, but I will not go back to Molin.” Mi Wan’s face was filled with determination.

“Miss, you must quit this drug addiction. If you continue this cycle of relapse, you’ll be the one who suffers.” When you relapse in the middle of detoxification, all the previous sufferings you went through during rehabilitation will be for naught. Butler Ye had repeated these words to Mi Wan countless of times, but Mi Wan refused to listen.

“I won’t go back to Molin.” Mi Wan went straight for the sofa in the ward and sat down with a stubborn attitude.

Butler Ye widened his narrowed eyelids in surprise. His impression of Miss Mi Wan’s personality was one that was soft and insecure. It was rare for her to vehemently oppose or refuse anything. Even when it came to servants, she rarely raised her voice. Take for example, the time when the Master made the young Miss go to the Molin villa to receive drug rehabilitation. While the Young Miss did break down and cry, she ultimately followed obediently without a word. This was the first time he had seen her speak so assertively, and her tone even sounded a little demanding.

“Let me ask the First Young Master.” Due to Mi Wan’s drug abuse, Mi Wan’s father became so agitated that he had a heart attack. He was currently still recuperating with his wife in country M. As for Mi Wan’s rehabilitation progress, Butler Ye was to directly report to the First Young Master.

While waiting for the Butler Ye to make the call, Mi Wan picked up an apple and took a bite, and internally winced: The fruits today seem less sweet than before.

“Young master, Miss doesn’t want to go back to Molin to do drug rehabilitation … Hmm … Yes … Miss’s attitude was very determined … Yes.” Butler Ye turned around and handed the phone to Mi Wan, “The first young master is on the phone.”

Mi Wan received the phone with a sense of wonder. Although she had an introduction to mobile phones in her memory, and even saw many people using mobile phones in the past few days, this was the first time she got to officially use it. Mi Wan tentatively put the receiver against her ear, and then heard a voice that was obviously suppressed in anger that asked, “Mi Wan, what do you want to do?”

Whoa, the voice was clear. This really was a good instrument.

“Say something.” The other party snapped impatiently.

“I don’t want to go back to Molin.” Mi Wan replied.

“I think what you don’t want is to quit drugs. Mi Wan, I’m telling you, you must quit your addiction. Don’t force me to send you to a drug treatment center.” When they first discovered that Mi Wan was taking drugs, they did contemplate sending Mi Wan to a drug treatment center, but considering the harsh environment, coupled with its negative impact on the reputation of Mi Wan and the Mi family, they decided on an alternative. They hired a small medical team and sent her to Molin for drug rehabilitation, but they never expected Mi Wan to suicide jump into a sinkhole so that she could gain access to drugs.

“I’ll undergo drug rehabilitation. I won’t go back to Molin.” Mi Wan patiently repeated what she just said to Butler Ye.

“Won’t go back to Molin? I think you just want to remain in Kang city so you could find another opportunity to buy drugs.”

“You can choose to believe it or not. Either way, I’m not going back to Molin.” Mi Wan had a personality that generally disliked explaining herself to people. Not to mention the brother’s tone was filled with ridicule and distrust. Listening to it made her instinctively uncomfortable.

“Until you quit your drug addiction, you’re only allowed to be in Molin.” The other party made it seem like it was non-negotiable.

“If you send me back, then I’ll immediately jump into the sinkhole.” Seeing that she could not reason with the other party, Mi Wan lost her temper.

“You…” The person on the opposite end was livid. Mi Wan even heard the sound of him slamming the table. It was a while before she heard the other person seethed, “Pass the phone to Uncle Ye.”

Mi Wan returned the phone to Butler Ye. Butler Ye took over and hummed twice before hanging up the phone: “First Young Master said if you don’t want to go back to Molin, then go to the old residence in the eastern suburbs.”

“Alright.” As long as it’s not Molin, Mi Wan had no problems going anywhere else.

During her withdrawal periods in the last two days, Mi Wan realized this poison called ‘white powder’ was a bit strange. Although she could suppress the withdrawal effects with spiritual force, in order to fully dispel it, she would have to physically expel it from her system. In other words, this type of poison had no antidote. It could only be metabolized by her own bodily functions.

(A/N: These are special physical characteristics of the female lead. Readers, do not attempt to imitate the examples. Actual drugs are difficult to quit. Everyone should stay away from drugs and cherish life!)

It really was a dangerous poison.

Seeing Mi Wan consent, Butler Ye carried her belongings and walked out the door.

“Wait……”

Butler Ye turned and frowned at Mi Wan.

“Umm the … I lost my phone.” Mi Wan stared persistently at the cell phone in Butler Ye’s hand. It seemed like everyone in this era had a cell phone, she would need to learn how to be proficient with it as soon as possible.

“I’ll send you a new one later.”

Mi Wan was instantly satisfied.
