Chapter hundred and sixty three: Now about the Raccoon?
The three sisters stood on the balcony a few more minutes after the men in their lives left to go to war. Rosemund and Eileen tried to control their sobs while Jamie simply hum softly inside like Alexander was off to so royal ball not war.
Eileen signed and wiped her face. She couldn't believe she was so sad about seeing Judd leave even after what he did to her.
A million questions raced through her head. What if he dies? What if he came back a shadow of his present self? What if he comes back the same and she couldn't look at his face without looking away immediately? What if….
"Great! Now what?" Eileen exclaimed. She was tired and she was angry. Tomorrow she will be off to Koi, another betrayal to deal with.
"I have the perfect idea. Come on!" Jamie urged both the princess and Queen to come with her.
"Where are we going?" Rosemund asked Jamie.
She couldn't believe that Jamie was dragging them to do something when they just watched the men they love go off to war.
"We need to get the truth for Eileen" Jamie said and they came out to a balcony where Eileen came face to face with Rachael and the guard that was holding her.
"Why is she here? Is this a big joke?" Eileen cried out loud.
"No. Judd didn't lie. I saw everything. This little witch here was trying to break up your marriage by framing Judd"
Jamie answered and moved closer to Rachael.
"Is this true?" Rosemund asked the maid.
"No. Judd loves me. The kiss was real…" Rachael didn't finish talking when she felt Jamie's hand across her face. The slap stung.
"The princess will ask the question again and maybe this time around go with the truth" Jamie told Rachael after she slapped her.
"Is this true?" Rosemund asked again.
"What if it is? He was going to choose me…me! I came to you for help. To help me spare the life of the man I love instead, you married him off to her! How is that fair to me! How could you do that to me?!" Rachael shook with both tears and rage as she yelled at royalties like she had lost her mind.
"And I made the right choice. You don't deserve Judd, you lunatic. And I can't believe I ever considered you an ally, Rachael. Whatever punishment, Queen Eileen melts out to you, shall stand" Jamie told her.
Rachael looked like a little kitten that was wet from a heavy rain.
"What will her punishment be?" Rosemund asked the Queen.
"I just want her out of my sight forever" Eileen murmured. She couldn't believe she turned her back to a husband that was going to war because of this ingrate.
Eileen picked up the helm of her dress and she took off towards the stable with the Queen and Princess right behind her.
Jamie wondered what she was doing in the stable until she saw Eileen grabbing a horse.
"No…no…what are you doing, Eileen?" Jamie asked her.
"What does it look like I am doing? I am going after my husband and I am going to tell him everything I was supposed to tell him, so he comes back home to me alive" Eileen said and mounted a horse.
Rosemund blinked and refocused her gaze. Watching two brothers match off to war was about the only misfortune she could stomach, she turned around and looked at Jamie.
"This is your fault…fix it" the princess accused her.
Jamie blinked twice to get over the shock, wasn't the truth supposed to set people free?
"Excuse me? Was I supposed to keep the fact that Rachael lied to myself, Rosemund?" Jamie asked her husband's sister. She really wondered why Rosemund disliked her so much. She wasn't like that with Eileen. Jamie often wonders if she was a magnet for hate and pulling out the worst feelings in the crown princess.
Rosemund didn't say anything to her question and so, Jamie asked her again.
"Answer me, was I supposed to keep the fact that Rachael is a backstabbing raccoon to myself, crown princess?"
"No. But you could have told her five minutes before my brothers matched off to war. You know that way I won't have a sister in law who is in tears and not thinking straight. So yes, it's your fault" Rosemund insisted. So much for keeping the promise she made to her brother.
Why wasn't she crying? Her brothers were going off to war and she didn't even shed a tear?
Rosemund resented Jamie for that. Everyone in the castle and beyond would know very soon that the king went off to war and his Queen's eyes were as clear as a starless night sky.
Jamie turned around and looked at her.
"I don't know whether you noticed but my husband was going off to war too five minutes ago"
"Did he? Because your eyes are as clear as a sunny day, Jamie" Rosemund reminded her.
"Wouldn't you love it if I fell apart, Rosemund? Don't hold your breath, I won't give you the satisfaction" Jamie said and took a horse from the stable and mounted too.
"If you want to find Judd, then I am coming with you" Jamie told Eileen.
"Me too" Rosemund opened the next stable and she led out her white horse, beauty from the stables.
All the three of them were on the horses ready to ride off when Semeen appeared out of nowhere with Ursla and another girl they didn't recognize. They were all holding swords.
"Get down from the horse, my Ladies" Semeen's voice was firm and unmoving.
"Eileen is going to say goodbye to Judd and we are coming with her" Rosemund told the werewolf.
"No. You will all return to your chambers" Semeen told them firmly.
"I am the authority over the West now that my brother is off to war. I am going to say this once, stand down" Rosemund ordered them.
"Hold your position!" Semeen yelled at the people with her. "Your royal highness, until the war is over…you are not allowed to leave the castle without prior arrangement with me or my warriors"
"You have no right!" Eileen yelled at them.
Semeen pulled out a scroll from her dress and gave it to Rosemund.
Rosemund read it and she came down from the horse.
"Both of you get down from the horses. We are not leaving the castle* Rosemund ordered Jamie and Eileen.
"No! No!" Eileen yelled at everyone.
"Why?" Jamie asked.
"I guess my brother knew us very well and so, he placed Semeen in charge of the security of the royal family. We can't leave the castle without her saying so. I guess my brother didn't trust me to rule in his absence alone" Rosemund said and walked away.
Eileen and Jamie came down from the horses too.
"I am sorry" Semeen murmured to them.
"He thinks that I hate him! He can't fight thinking that his wife hates….that I couldn't look at him, Jamie" Eileen sobbed even harder.
She tried to walk away but Jamie stopped her.
"Wait! Semeen can talk to the king via the mind link, can't you Semeen?" Jamie looked at the wolf girl.
(What are you doing, Luna? The mind link can be used just Incase of an emergency and this doesn't qualify)
Semeen told the Queen through the mind link.
"He needs to know, Semeen. Judd needs to know that someone is waiting for him" Jamie persuaded her.
"Alright"

"Judd, apparently your wife wants to talk to you. Do you want to hear it?"

If he was going to do his duties as lead knight then he can't think of Eileen.

"Thank you, Jamie. If you will excuse me I need to prepare for my departure to the east"
As soon as Eileen walked out, Semeen turned to her.
"You lied!"
"It was a comforting lie. It's harmless. Tell my husband not to worry about us. Tell him that we are fine. I am fine" Jamie told Semeen.
As she walked away she could hear Alexander's voice in her head.
"My perfect girl" he had whispered.
