Chapter 77 – The End

As the mournful sound of the Suona played, the spirit realm walkers present felt an indescribable sense of eeriness watching the Primordial Celestial Lord place a specialized Red Bridal Veil over his head.

On one hand, they couldn’t discern whether the core of his method was the Red Bridal Veil or the device playing music from his waist pouch.

On the other hand, the combination of a boy, a Red Bridal Veil, and joyous music was just too bizarre.

“This blasted Speaker really knows how to pick its moments, stealing all the attention with its music,” grumbled Zhang Yuanqing, donning the Red Bridal Veil, feeling a touch of resentment.

“Want to experience what it’s like to be a Groom?” Reckless Rampage jeered with a strange expression, the amber vertical pupils of his eyes reflecting the striking red, “So you want to be my bride, huh? No can do, I’m not interested in men.”

Zhang Yuanqing ignored the taunts, focusing inwardly and silently sensing his surroundings, waiting for the Ghost Bride to appear.

Seeing his mockery unreturned, Reckless Rampage’s gaze flickered, and suddenly, he shattered the floor tiles, launching an unscrupulous attack without any martial honor.

He didn’t know what the young man’s strategy was, but he believed in extinguishing any risk early on, knowing that giving enemies time equated to courting danger for oneself.

“Sizzle, sizzle.” Suddenly, amidst the high-pitched Suona sound, an electrical current noise emerged as if the signal was being interfered with.

“It’s coming,” Zhang Yuanqing sensed a vast surge of Yin Qi emanating from the Void behind him, causing the hairs on his back to stand on end, yet he dared not look back.

The sensation was all too familiar; it was the same at Jinsui Amusement Park when the Ghost Bride had made her appearance, the feelings were identical.

The overwhelming Yin Qi enveloped the Villa, causing the official walkers present to tremble in their souls. What had he Summoned?

In Reckless Rampage’s field of vision, he saw behind the official Night Wandering Deity, a large swath of dark, dense fog eerily rolling in, bringing coldness, strangeness, and fear. Faintly, the figure of a Ghost Bride in a vibrant red Bridal gown appeared behind the deity.

Creak. Reckless Rampage’s feet grated sharply against the ground as he forced himself to a halt.

A nameless terror exploded in the pit of his stomach.

The Vengeful Spirit was terrifying, powerful, and irresistible. He felt the oppressive force of a high-level Evil entity and, following his instincts, Reckless Rampage turned and ran without hesitation.

He was a Gu Sorcerer, not an Illusionist, lacking the means to contend with a Spirit Body.

Especially not one of such a high caliber.

Reckless Rampage rushed towards the door, but just as he took a step, he halted; the door had vanished, replaced by a dense expanse of dark Yin fog.

Within the fog, the eerie figure in the red Bridal gown appeared intermittently.

This… Reckless Rampage’s scalp tingled, and he pivoted towards the staircase.

However, thick Yin fog was rolling up the stairs, and among the undulating mist, a pair of delicate feet in red embroidered shoes were descending step by step.

Despair flooded Reckless Rampage’s eyes.

What was he doing? To the other official walkers, Reckless Rampage appeared to be possessed, rushing towards the door, then the window, then the stairs.

But each time, he returned in terror. His grotesque, insect-like face twisted with fear, and his amber vertical pupils flickered with unrest.

Tang Guoqiang shivered violently, feeling weak in his limbs as he desperately crawled away from Zhang Yuanqing, as if scrambling for his life.

Ghost hitting the wall? Zhang Yuanqing slightly raised his head, using his extremely limited vision to observe the seemingly mad Reckless Rampage, and immediately concluded that the Ghost Bride had used an Illusion.

Just as he was thinking about taking the opportunity to strike and draw some blood from Reckless Rampage, he suddenly found himself unable to move.

“What’s going on? The Note didn’t mention that the Red Bridal Veil would restrict movement,” Zhang Yuanqing thought with both shock and suspicion. Right after, he felt something cold and softer than usual press against his back.

A massive wave of Yin Qi surged, infiltrating his body and merging with the Lunar Power within him.

The slumbering Little goof woke up, shivering and curling up. The Infant Spirit had no idea what was happening, only to wake up feeling surrounded by immense danger.

Finally, Zhang Yuanqing found himself able to move. He took slow, deliberate steps towards Reckless Rampage.

But it wasn’t under his control.

It was the Ghost Bride manipulating his body.

Guan Ya, Green Vine, White Loong, Li Dongze, and others shifted their gaze from Reckless Rampage to the slowly walking Zhang Yuanqing.

Perhaps it was an illusion, but for an instant, they saw a ghastly figure in a red Bridal gown clinging tightly behind Primordial.

The sight of that ghostly shadow sent a genuine fear through everyone.

When Zhang Yuanqing reached Reckless Rampage, he looked through the lower edge of the Red Bridal Veil and saw a pair of pale and delicate hands reach out from his side, grabbing his hand.

The chilling Yin Qi concentrated in his palm, and Zhang Yuanqing watched as his own hand turned bluish-black, his arm muscles swelled, and dark veins wrapped around them.

His fingers extended into sharp, black nails.

Those pale and delicate hands guided the ghastly hand to grasp Reckless Rampage’s neck.

The gloomy fog surrounded them, and ghostly figures in red Bridal gowns appeared from all sides. Reckless Rampage looked around in panic. He wanted to flee, but there was no escape; a ghostly figure blocked every path.

His heart pounded violently, adrenaline surged, but what it brought was not courage, but extreme fear.

His brutality, impetuousness, ruthlessness, and decisiveness seemed to have vanished, leaving only fear and trembling.

Reckless Rampage knew he was under some influence, but the despair was that, despite knowing it wasn’t normal, he couldn’t change it.

Then, the ghostly figures from all directions reached out their hands; beneath the bright red, beautiful Bridal gowns were pairs of greenish-black, muscular ghost hands with bulging veins.

Reckless Rampage had nowhere to retreat as he watched the ghostly hands grasp his throat. The next moment, the icy Yin Qi invaded his body, spreading rapidly, and his vitality quickly faded.

Zhang Yuanqing watched as the light in Reckless Rampage’s vertical pupils dimmed and finally extinguished.

The soul in that large and ugly body fractured and dissipated rapidly.

He sighed in relief. At that moment, Zhang Yuanqing finally confirmed that the battle was over, with no more surprises to come.

No, there wasn’t just the Ghost Bride; now, a Human-Headed Serpent monster caught his attention. Just as the thought flashed through his mind, the Ghost Bride controlled him to turn around and head towards the great serpent.

Almost immediately, the serpent’s fierce eyes alternated between disorientation and ferocity, as its soft and powerless body twisted restlessly.

It too had fallen under an Illusion.

Zhang Yuanqing, following the same method, grasped the serpent’s throat, depriving it of life.

However, Zhang Yuanqing realized his actions hadn’t ceased, and the Ghost Bride hadn’t left. Instead, she manipulated him to turn towards the Official Walkers.

The Official Walkers, who had just begun to feel a sense of joy, suddenly felt a chill in their hearts.

Zhang Yuanqing noticed the delicate and pale hands that lifted his arms, hesitating slightly among White Loong, Captain Green Vine, and Guan Ya.

After a few seconds, it seemed she had made her choice, controlling Zhang Yuanqing to step by step approach Guan Ya.

“Primordial?” Old driver’s face turned deathly pale as she fearfully shuffled backward.

Was she going to kill Guan Ya? No, stop right there. Zhang Yuanqing panicked, but his body was completely out of control.

The Ghost Bride was supposed to have a time limit, but there was no Prompt in the Item. Zhang Yuanqing had no idea how long she would last, and by the time the Ghost Bride’s effect wore off, Guan Ya would certainly be dead.

As Guan Ya grew closer, Zhang Yuanqing’s mind raced, and he suddenly came up with a plan. He shifted the “control” to the Little goof inside him.

Inside his body, the Little goof couldn’t bear the pressure any longer and burst into tears.

This allowed Zhang Yuanqing to regain brief control of his body, and he immediately raised his left hand to pull off the Item that covered his head.

The massive Yin Qi quickly receded into the Void, and the Ghost Bride reluctantly returned to the spirit realm.

By this time, he was only five or six steps away from Guan Ya.

Zhang Yuanqing collapsed on the ground, gasping for air, the feeling of weakness washing over him again.

Guan Ya’s white shirt was soaked with sweat, and her wet hair clung to her cheeks, her chest rising and falling.

Feeling the terrifying Yin Qi dissipate, the Official Walkers let out a sigh of relief, both grateful and joyous, thinking that this is the Night Wandering Deity who has cleared two S-level challenges in a row, already so extraordinary at the newbie stage.

A Wood Demon, shivering, took out a pill from her tactical backpack and said, “Quick, take the Toxin antidote. It won’t remove the Toxin, but it can relieve the symptoms.”

“Can you bring it over?”

“I, I can’t move.”

Captain Green Vine’s eyebrows furrowed with concern: “Who can still move? Go collect the Items upstairs first. Right now, it’s just coughing and paralysis, but who knows, we might all drop dead soon.”

Big Muscle Tyrant staggered to his feet, intending to go upstairs, but after a few steps, he collapsed, overwhelmed by blood loss and fainting.

Seeing this, Zhang Yuanqing supported his weary body and said, “I’ll go.”

White Loong breathed a sigh of relief and weakly smiled, “You’re really a reliable boy, no, man.”

“If only you’d said that a dozen or so seconds earlier, the Ghost Bride would not have tolerated you,” Zhang Yuanqing thought to himself.

The commander from behind the scenes, Li Dongze, pointed out:

“It should be on the second floor, towards the direction of the main entrance, either the second or third room. Reckless Rampage has been fighting in that spot, he must have been guarding an Item.”

Zhang Yuanqing nodded and staggered up the stairs.

As the group watched him disappear around the corner of the staircase, Li Dongze looked at his wristwatch and a look of delight crossed his face as he said:

“30 minutes have passed, the Barrier has dissipated, and we can now call for reinforcements.”

Among the Official Walkers present, only he had a penchant for elegance and wore a watch.

The rest typically used their smartphones to check the time and had set them to airplane mode before the operation began.

Suddenly, the main door to the living room was violently kicked open, and a dozen fully armed Official Walkers filed in.

They were followed by Fu Qingyang, who wore a white suit and sported a short ponytail, and Ling Jun, dressed casually and loosely.

The support team had arrived? Li Dongze and the others were both shocked and overjoyed.

Ling Jun’s gaze swept over the several dead Gu Beasts, and he said with a smile:

“It seems we’re not needed anymore. Money Prince, the Captains under your command are quite capable.”

Fu Qingyang glanced at Guan Ya, who was unharmed, then at the other Captains, and his stern face relaxed ever so slightly.
