Chapter 85 – Surrendering Himself

As Zhang Yuanqing saw the cellphone that was in the middle of a call, a curse almost escaped his throat.

Clearly, before the battle commenced, the Black-Backed Strongman had dialed Xiahou Tianyuan’s number and then left the phone there.

The commotion from the fight, including the Black-Backed Strongman’s mention of the “Night Wandering Deity,” was all heard by Xiahou Tianyuan.

This meant that Xiahou Tianyuan knew that a Night Wandering Deity was responsible for killing his subordinates and abducting the “hostage.”

Given the rarity of a Night Wandering Deity, his stance on the Ending Killing Sect issues, and his “relationship” with Wang Qian, Xiahou Tianyuan, if he had any sense at all, would suspect him first.

Is he really a Fire Warrior? Is this what a Fire Warrior is? Do Fire Warriors think like this? Zhang Yuanqing cursed inwardly and, bending down, picked up the phone, his voice hoarse as he spoke:

“Hello?”

“Primordial Celestial Lord, is that you?”

Xiahou Tianyuan’s calm voice came through the speaker:

“You need not get involved in this matter. I have no intention of becoming your enemy. I won’t pursue the deaths of those men, just leave the woman behind and depart immediately. Our grudges will be wiped clean. No, I can even offer you a few Items, or whatever you desire, we can negotiate. Don’t hang up.”

Xiahou Tianyuan was on his way, desperately wanting to buy time to stabilize the Primordial Celestial Lord.

Zhang Yuanqing let out a cold laugh, “I’m not the Primordial Celestial Lord, I’m your dad!!”

He hung up the phone and threw it into the fire before kicking open the tightly closed bedroom door with a loud “bang.”

As Zhang Yuanqing burst into the bedroom, his gaze swept across the room.

In the corner by the window, a woman dressed in a black long skirt and a white T-shirt was curled up against the wall, her hair disheveled, and her wrists and ankles bound with thick tape.

She was staring at the stranger who had broken through the door with a face full of terror, like a quail that had been scared out of its wits.

“Don’t be afraid, I’m a security officer, here to rescue you.”

As Zhang Yuanqing spoke, he reached behind his back and drew out the Blade of Bloodthirst from the “Void.” With a gentle flick at her wrists and ankles, he cut through the tape.

“You’re a security officer?”

The woman’s countenance was wan, her eyes brimming with melancholy and bloodshot, but upon seeing him, they finally sparkled with a glint of light.

She had fine features that bore some resemblance to Wang Qian, of the beautiful Type.

Perhaps due to almost giving birth, her body was voluptuous yet her waist remained slender.

“There’s no time to talk, I have to get you out of here, there’s a fire outside,” said Zhang Yuanqing as he pulled her up. “Can you walk on your own?”

“I-I can,” Wang Qian stammered.

The two of them ran out of the room, one after the other, the air filled with the acrid smell of smoke. Wang Qian coughed continuously but dared not stop, following closely behind the young security officer.

As they reached the living room, Zhang Yuanqing spoke rapidly while moving: “I saw a black car at the entrance of the Villa; is it theirs?”

“Yes, that’s the car I was brought here in,” Wang Qian replied as she saw the corpses licked by flames in the living room, her face turning deathly pale.

Without hesitation, Zhang Yuanqing dragged the Fire Warrior’s body to the courtyard and began searching the four corpses, not forgetting to ask:

“Was it just four people who kidnapped you?” Zhang Yuanqing asked as he found the car key in the pocket of a middle-aged man with a big belly.

“Yes, that’s right,” Wang Qian said, her face growing even paler. She was just an ordinary person, never having witnessed such a bloody scene or seen so many dead bodies before. Did this young security officer kill them all?

Zhang Yuanqing tossed the key to Wang Qian and said quickly, “Take the car key and go!”

Bending down, he grabbed two of the bodies under his arms and clutched the ankles of the other two, dragging them on the ground as he and Wang Qian sprinted away from the villa.

Running, Wang Qian glanced back uneasily and realized that the young security officer, even with hundreds of kilograms on his back, was moving swiftly.

“Unlock it, open the door, quick!” Zhang Yuanqing shouted.

He quickly surveyed the surroundings. The villa’s residential community was not busy at this time of day, with no one passing by.

As for the surveillance cameras on the roadside or whether anyone in the nearby villas was peeking through the windows, he couldn’t worry about that now. After all, the face they would capture would be Xiahou Tianyuan’s.

Wang Qian pressed the unlock button and shakily opened the car door.

Zhang Yuanqing threw the four bodies into the back seat, snatched the car key from the stupefied woman, and said sternly, “Get in the car!”

He opened the driver’s side door and got in.

Zhang Yuanqing had obtained his driver’s license in his sophomore year of high school when the driving school was offering discounts to attract business and promised that students could get their license over the summer break.

His aunt thought it was a good opportunity and paid for her nephew to learn to drive.

Zhang Yuanqing passed all the tests from the first to the fourth in one go, with the instructor praising his talent and declaring him a natural behind the wheel.

However, after getting his license, Zhang Yuanqing never touched a car again.

PRND what does this mean? It’s different from a manual transmission. As he settled into his seat, he glanced at the gear shifter, his expression suddenly stiffening.

“Do you know how to drive?”

“Yes.”

“You drive.”

The two quickly switched seats, and Wang Qian started the car, her hands trembling as she gripped the steering wheel and stepped on the gas pedal.

The car sped along the streets of the villa’s residential community, with Zhang Yuanqing urging her on, fearing they would be blocked by Xiahou Tianyuan at the community’s gate.

After a few seconds, the villa’s gate appeared ahead, and Zhang Yuanqing said in a deep voice, “Don’t stop, ram through!”

“Are you really a security officer?” Wang Qian asked with a sob in her voice.

“Don’t talk nonsense, just ram through it!” he repeated emphatically.

Wang Qian bit her lip, steeled her heart, and floored the gas pedal.

With the roar of the engine, the black sedan broke through the barrier at the gatehouse and sped away.

“Head to the Kangyang District Public Security Bureau!” Zhang Yuanqing said, then leaned back in his seat and closed his eyes to rest.

His original plan was to kill the kidnapper, rescue Wang Qian, and remain anonymous, letting Xiahou Tianyuan suspect the Ending Killing Sect.

But now that his identity was most likely exposed, the previous plan was no longer viable, and he needed to rethink his strategy.

Good thing I have a backup plan. Zhang Yuanqing opened his eyes, took out his cellphone, and dialed Fu Qingyang’s number.

After five rings, the call connected, and Fu Qingyang’s abstinent voice came through the speaker:

“What is it.”

“Fu Centurion, I’ve completed the procedure of justice.”

“What’s the result?”

“The target has been rescued. During the process, four kidnappers resisted fiercely and have been neutralized by me. I’m currently transporting the bodies and the hostage to the Kangyang District Public Security Bureau. Awaiting further instructions!”

“Well done!” Fu Qingyang praised. “Bring the bodies back. Do not inquire the soul; let someone from the Taiyi Sect handle it. We need a dual accusation. I’ll issue an order now to arrest Xiahou Tianyuan for endangering social stability.”

Zhang Yuanqing sighed with relief and continued:

“Merely charging him with this crime might not be enough to significantly hurt Xiahou Tianyuan.”

In a calm and indifferent tone, Fu Qingyang delivered a statement that left Zhang Yuanqing speechless:

“Besides endangering social stability, Xiahou Tianyuan may also be charged with hiring murderers, intentional homicide, assault, rape, solicitation of prostitution, and organizing the sale of silver. I need to investigate thoroughly.”

I’m still too young. Zhang Yuanqing added, “What about Xiahou Xin?”

Fu Qingyang replied indifferently, “That depends on how we interrogate Xiahou Tianyuan.”

Good idea! Zhang Yuanqing continued, “And the Xiahou Family?”

Fu Qingyang answered coolly, “You need to know when to stop.”

“Understood, Centurion!”

Zhang Yuanqing ended the call.

Meanwhile, three imported business cars raced towards the villa in the residential community.

The cars parked outside the villa, where Xiahou Tianyuan saw a dozen property management staff either holding hoses or fire extinguishers, trying to put out a fire.

Thick smoke billowed out of the open windows.

Xiahou Tianyuan’s face was ashen as he sat in the car without a word. His bodyguards opened the doors, got out of the car, and entered the villa.

Shortly after, a bodyguard hurried back to the car, bending over at the window:

“The bodies and that woman have been taken away.”

The bodies have been taken as well. Xiahou Tianyuan clenched his teeth, his jaw’s chewing muscles bulging as he controlled his anger and dialed his father Xiahou Xin’s number.

“Dad, the officials took the woman, the one I beat up that day, the Primordial Celestial Lord. I don’t know how he found this place. Everyone I had arranged at the villa is dead, and the bodies have been taken. What should I do now?”

At this moment, Xiahou Tianyuan was starting to panic.

The Xiahou Family had operated for many years, with many members in the Five Elements Alliance benefiting from the family.

However, the Five Elements Alliance was massive and factionally complex; not everyone feared the Xiahou Family.

Without evidence or exposure, others were reluctant to have a showdown with the Xiahou Family, but with evidence, the situation would be different.

“What’s there to panic about!” Xiahou Xin remained calm, pondering for a few seconds before saying:

“Go turn yourself in immediately.”

“Turn myself in?” Xiahou Tianyuan’s voice rose: “How can I do that?”

He suddenly realized: “You mean?”

Xiahou Xin hummed affirmatively, his tone steady: “You know who to turn yourself into, don’t you?”

Xiahou Tianyuan felt relieved and smiled: “Understood.”

Of course, he would turn himself into an Official Walker close to the Xiahou Family, seeking protection under the guise of surrendering.

He definitely could not fall into the hands of outsiders, such as the Director of the Kangyang District, Fu Qingyang.

Xiahou Tianyuan hung up the phone, his smile fading as he smashed his fist into the back of the chair and gritted his teeth:

“Primordial Celestial Lord, I’ll butcher you. I’ll find out who you really are and make you pay the price!”

In the speeding car, Zhang Yuanqing lit up his phone screen, opened the messaging app, and sent a message to Wang Qian:

“Your sister is safe.”
