Today is a good day, and it is a great day for the residents of Sedona City, because some of the houses have already finished their construction. As long as the house passed the inspection, the residents would be allowed to move into the new houses.

Lucas was currently checking the newly finished houses that were designed like community homes. Every one of the houses had some trees planted outside but currently they are all dried because of the autumn season.

Cement houses were smeared with cement so they didn’t look too bad. They were simple, but they were enough to make many of the civilians excited as they were much better than the rammed earth wall houses the civilians had been living in previously. In Sedona City, houses made of limestones were rare with the City Lord’s Mansion being one of the only buildings made of limestones. Limestone was one of the reasons why many people buy this castle from Carter in the first place and later get killed by his knights.

Lucas started from the first house and walked toward it. But before he could even completely open the door, Mina rushed in to check the house. After confirming there wasn’t any danger for Lucas, she let Lucas in the house. Lucas simply just smiled seeing Mina's behavior.

“Relax. You’re too cautious. You don't need to worry too much.” Lucas said, gently patting Mina’s head. "The War Wolves that are outside had already checked the houses. You don’t have to worry.”

“Okay.” Mina said, nodding her head. But only she knew whether or not she listened to those words because she was in her own world when Lucas patted her head.

Lucas entered the house and looked around. The house didn’t look very different from the design he had given to construction workers. He simply told Craftsman Head Mark about the design and construction of the houses. It had 3 bedrooms, a living room, a toilet, and a kitchen. A 120 square meters house, enough for a family of six to live in.

“It is so small compared to my room.” Annie said in surprise. The room they were currently in was much smaller than her bedroom in the castle.

Rooms in the new houses were small but they were good enough to satisfy the civilians. The houses were sold based on what the buyers needed. There were also houses with 2 bedrooms and houses with 4 bedrooms.

Needless to say, many civilians didn’t really care about the renovation and were satisfied with the plain cement covered rooms. Lucas had given many designs for the renovations, but most of the civilians weren’t very interested in the renovation; only a few somewhat wealthy families had asked about the renovations.

It was understandable as most of the civilians didn’t have any money to spare. As such, they wouldn’t care about unnecessary things like renovations and would be satisfied as long their houses had working doors and windows to keep them safe. The civilians of the city were easy to please.

“It seems that I have to improve their living conditions first so that they would have excess money to spend on extravagant items.” Lucas mumbled while thinking about the civilians. Lucas walked out of the house, closed the door, and went to inspect the other houses. There were other groups of people who were helping Lucas in inspection.

As Lucas finished inspecting the eighth house he went to and didn't find any problems, he saw Max’s family moving their stuff into their new house.

Seeing Lucas walking over to them, Max’s family hurriedly saluted Lucas. They had not expected to meet Lucas at the door of their new home.

“This is your new house?” Lucas asked, surprised. He was just about to go in to inspect the same house they were in front of.

“Yes.” Max said, smiling. He had gotten a 200 square meter house which was a benefit for working for the City Lord’s Mansion.

“I remember that your house has renovations. Come on, let’s go take a look.” Lucas said, smiling. Max was one of the few people that had asked him about renovations.

“Please, follow me.” Max said, leading the way.

There were benefits in working for the City Lord’s Mansion. The 200 square meter house was a perfect example. There weren’t many 200 square meter houses built, and only a few people had gotten one of the houses.

The group immediately noticed how different the house was compared to the houses they had inspected before. The walls were smeared with fine cement, which made them much smoother than the walls of the previous houses. The floor was paved with wooden boards, and the room was filled with tables and chairs.

The room only had one bed, but it was enough to surprise Mina, Annie, and Nicole because of how comfortable the room looked with such a simple layout.

“Max, you’re only halfway done with the renovations, right? There’s a lot of things that you still haven’t done yet.” Lucas said to Max, surprised. He had given Max a lot of suggestions about renovations.

“Lord Lucas, this is enough for me. It’s much better than the house I used to live in. It is the home I have always dreamed of.” Max exclaimed. He didn’t even dare to dream of having such a fulfilling life 20 days ago, let alone such a good house.

“It’ll only get better in the future.” Lucas said, nodding his head. He understood Max’s feelings. He had lived a bitter life previously and was extremely satisfied after just a little bit of an improvement.

“Lord Lucas, please sit.” Max hurriedly moved the chair and kicked his son, Steve who was standing next to him. “Hurry up and go pour some water for Lord Lucas.”

“There is no need for you to get water. I’ve brought some drinks with me.” Nicole said, stopping them. She was carrying a cute and beautiful backpack on her back. Lucas had given her and each of the other girls a small backpack. Lucas had gotten them from the Earth. He brought 10 backpacks for the girls from which they could choose their favorite.

Today was the first day that Nicole had carried it outside. She took out a small box from the backpack, opened the box, took out a glass from it and put it on the table. She then proceeded to take out a red tin can from the backpack.

“Fizz…” Nicole opened the can and a fizzing sound came out. She carefully poured the black, bubbling liquid into the glass under Max and his son's amazed eyes.

“Pour a glass for Max too.” Lucas said to Nicole. He glanced at Mina and Annie and saw them licking their lips, and couldn’t help but laugh in his mind. They had already drunk it before. When Mina and Annie first drank the cola, they were extremely surprised at how good it was in taste.

“Everyone can go to the inner vault to get a can you like when we get back to the castle.” Lucas said, helpless. The beastgirls would never ask him for anything. They would only stare at him with pleading eyes until he gave in.

“Yay! Young Master, you’re the best.” Annie shouted, jumping in joy.

“I want one which has white bubbles, young master.” Mina said, her eyes filled with joy.

Nicole smiled lightly and nodded and planned to get the cold drink for Mina and Annie when they got back. She also liked to drink cola.
