Last night, not long after Juin and Lucifer left his office, Warlock received a piece of intelligence from his people. Apparently, a monster had appeared at Wulingyuan Scenic and Historic Interest Area, Zhangjiajie, China…

Warlock would have cared less about a little monster, but when he heard that this monster had been avoiding capture ever since it was first seen a few weeks ago and that it had killed a few members of the Dark Night Clan, as well as the Order, Warlock was intrigued… especially when he heard that the supernatural groups had been sending higher-ranked members to capture the little fellow.

"Huh, the bloodsucker wants it?" Warlock muttered as he read the piece of paper that appeared in front of him. After a few seconds, the paper burned on its own and completely disappeared, ash and all.

Warlock stood up from his seat and paced around as he tried to think of the implication. The "bloodsucker" would never make a move himself unless it was something that he really wanted, which told Warlock that he had to be there to disrupt his plan.

He had a feeling that this monster was a high-ranked monster, and if it could warrant such a huge effort from the groups, and the "bloodsucker", then this meant that the monster was at least something that could be turned into a spirit beast.

If so, Warlock wanted to capture it for Juin. He went to his closet and put on his black trench coat as he mumbled, "The Battle is this year…"

The Battle of the Underground Beings was about to start soon, and Warlock had caught a few pieces of crucial information from his informants in the organizing committee. Having a spirit beast was extremely beneficial if Juin intended to join, and Warlock was hoping that Juin would join… although he was unsure if the boy knew about the battle yet.

"Ah, screw it, I'll ask Thompson to drop a hint about this to him…" Warlock mumbled as his eyes glowed. A small bright light appeared in front of him. At first, it was not much bigger than a fist, but within seconds, it grew large enough for Warlock to walk through.

The reason why Warlock wanted Juin to join was that he believed that this battle would hone Juin's fighting expertise, helping him to better gain control of his budding powers, as well as building his character.

If Juin had remained in the dark about everything, living a normal sans supernatural life, then Warlock wouldn't need to do all this. But now, it was only a matter of time before Hades' soul would fully break out of the shackles.

Thus, it was imperative for Juin to grow up as soon as possible, and there was nothing that would make a boy grow faster than life and death situations.

...

Cough! Cough! Cough!

"Ah… Sh*t…" Warlock cursed as he looked at the quickly blackening blood on his hands. Wiping them on his black trench coat, he murmured, "That Lucifer…"

Warlock wasn't trying to scare Lucifer when he said that sacrifices had to be made when one used a forbidden spell. Back then, Cahryss was already terribly wounded when she created a fake death situation for Hades. There was no way she would be able to open up a portal by herself without hastening her death sentence.

Hence, Warlock did it. After setting up all sorts of precautions to protect the woman he secretly loved, he bid her a sorrowful goodbye. By sacrificing a part of himself, he opened up the portal and brought Hades' soul over to Earth.

Perhaps it was because he brought something that he shouldn't have into Earth, but not long after he arrived, he was inflicted with a terrible backlash that resulted in his strength being greatly diminished.

Warlock counted it lucky that he lost Juin back then, for not long after that, he was chased after by countless creatures and supernatural humans who had caught the scent of him. It was a good thing that even with his diminished strength, he was still extremely powerful, or he would have never reunited with Juin.

After countless battles with creatures that both wanted him for his strength and wanted his death, Warlock's body was actually riddled with old injuries. He might be powerful, but he was not an immortal. Death was still a possibility, especially when faced with multiple enemies.

And when he punished Lucifer earlier, he had actually hurt himself as well by opening up some of the old wounds.

"That kid must never know about this…" Warlock muttered to himself as he wiped his mouth with the back of his hand. If Lucifer knew that Warlock's punishment was a double-edged sword, knowing his temperament, he would literally just anger the man to his death.

Quickly taking a pill out of his trench coat to settle the pain from the old wounds, Warlock then peered down into the heavy mist. When his green eye glowed slightly, he could see everything at the bottom of the sandstone pillar he was standing on clearly. It was as if the dark night and the heavy mist did not exist at all.

He could see a few other beings among the thousands of sandstone pillars, each coming for the monster. No, including those that were hiding, there were at least a hundred men present.

"Cannon fodder," Warlock thought to himself before looking at those who were standing out in the open. All of a sudden, he felt a ripple in the air, which brought with it a familiar aura. "The bloodsucker is finally here…"

Warlock's eyes narrowed when he recognized the aura, and his eyes quickly turned to a direction. Right above the "Bridge Across the Sky", a human-sized portal was hovering in midair. And soon, a man with silver hair and dressed in a coat walked out of it and landed on the naturally formed bridge.

As if he knew he was being watched, the silver-haired man looked in the direction of Warlock, and a smirk soon appeared on his face, accompanied by an elongated canine tooth.
