Back at Saint Xavier Private School,
While Ms. Janine was teaching, Juin noticed that some of his classmates seemed to be distracted. They kept looking at their phones, and some of them even had wireless earphones stuck in their ears.
"I wonder what's so interesting," Juin mumbled under his breath as he looked at the kids. Even Wolfe Sterling, who was usually distracted by the stash of manga and comics in his desk, was looking at his phone intently.
Juin glanced at the back and saw Mika Nakamura doing the same thing. Even Luca Rockefeller was doing the same thing, staring at his phone that was under the desk while using a book to cover his action.
All of a sudden, he heard some of them curse, and one of them actually jumped up.
"F*ck! No!"
"Sh*t!"
"This is bullsh*t!"
Ms. Janine, who was writing equations on the whiteboard, turned around and scowled at the class. "If you aren't interested in my class, then get out of here."
And there were indeed a few kids who walked out, much to her displeasure.
Juin noticed that the kids' faces were pale and upset, and as he watched them walk out, he wondered what they were watching and if something happened in whatever it was they were watching.
"Weird…" Juin could hear Max mutter to herself. When Ms. Janine turned to face the whiteboard again, Juin held his book high, until it covered his face, before leaning back in his chair. He then whispered to Max, "Do you know what's going on?"
Max leaned forward and whispered, "No idea, but it seems like they are watching some sort of fighting show."
"Fighting show?"
Max shrugged. "I only caught a glimpse of it..."
She then gulped and kept her head low.
Juin felt that something was wrong, so he slowly lowered his book, upon which he saw a female abdomen. Raising his eyes, he was soon met with Ms. Janine's stern, middle-aged face. "Erm… Hi, miss…" Juin mumbled as he slowly lowered his book and placed it on the desk.
Ms. Janine snapped, "Juin, is it?"
Juin sighed and nodded.
"Do you think it's fun to talk while I'm teaching? Did you do this in Warlock's class as well?"
Juin shook his head. "I'm sorry, Ms. Janine…"
"One more word out of you, and we'll be seeing each other in detention for the rest of the week!" Ms. Janine said as she narrowed her eyes at him.
Juin immediately nodded.
When Ms. Janine turned around and walked back to the whiteboard, Lucifer smirked and said, "Damn, that's a hot woman…"
Juin raised a brow and looked up at Lucifer in disbelief. "Hot… woman? She's like 40!" he whispered to Lucifer. When he saw Ms. Janine turn back, he quickly looked down at his book and pretended to be reading intently.
"40? That's baby age," Lucifer said nonchalantly.
Lucifer floated up to midair, but he couldn't see anything. His view was either blocked by the students' heads, hair, or desks. Thus, it was a futile attempt. Glancing at Juin, Lucifer shook his head and said, "Just ask your date later. I think she's watching the same thing."
Left with no choice, Juin could only do so.
A few hours later, the bell rang, indicating the end of school. Since Mika had a martial arts class to attend, Juin decided to spend the time in the school library. As he walked toward the library, he overheard two younger students talking in the hallway.
"Did you see the fight? Who won?" one of them, a young boy with blond hair, asked nervously.
His friend, an African-American boy with caramel skin tone, replied in a hushed tone, "I'm not sure… But it looks like President Presley was winning…"
Someone was suddenly live-streaming the fight between President Presley and Warlock to a group chat that comprised of supernatural humans from the Order, but when the fight reached a critical point, at which Warlock and President Presley were both wounded, the live-stream was cut off, and the video was deleted.
"Damn… I hope President Presley win…" the African-American boy said as he closed his locker door and walked away with his friend.
Juin exchanged glances with Lucifer but did not say anything. He walked to the library and booked a private reading room. After taking a few books from the library's collection of supernatural-related books, he went into reading room 4.
The moment he closed the door, he activated "Silence" and said to Lucifer, "President Presley has a fight with Warlock?"
"It seems like it, based on the boys' words."
"I wonder why…" Juin said as he sat down and opened a book. "And I just talked to both of them yesterday… Is it because of me?"
"I don't think you warrant a fight between two powerhouses," Lucifer scoffed. "Besides, it's not like that Presley guy knows about me or the other soul within you, so there's no reason for him to fight that guy."
Juin sighed. Lucifer was right. As long as no one else knew about his true identity, they would not fight against Warlock. After all, for everyone else, Warlock was just his homeroom teacher. Only him, Lucifer, and Warlock knew the connections between them.
"So they are fighting for something else… You have any guesses?" Juin asked as he flipped through the pages of the book. He was reading a book on mythological creatures, and his eyes fell on the picture of an orange-red phoenix. As he touched the picture of the phoenix, he felt a sense of familiarity with it, as if he could almost connect with the magnificent mythological creature.
"Who knows…" Lucifer shrugged. "But that Presley guy gives me the creeps… I couldn't help but think…"
He frowned and folded his arms as he thought about the image of the silver-haired man.
"What?" Juin asked when Lucifer stopped talking completely. He looked up at Lucifer and saw a complicated expression on his face.
Lucifer shrugged. "I have this uneasy feeling when we met him yesterday…"
He then looked down at the book Juin was reading. When he saw the image of the phoenix, his gaze softened for a moment before sharpening again. "See if there's anything on vampires…"
