Zheng frowned as he thought deeply about the matter. The man who saved him told him that everything was up to his decision. Once he met with Juin, Zheng could decide for himself what kind of life he wanted. However, if he chose to remain alone, then there might be a chance that someone would catch him and turn him into a spirit beast.

That thought alone scared Zheng into sitting up straight. He hated the idea of being submissive to a being that was way below his ranks, and he definitely hated the process of being turned into a spirit beast.

His parents had told him about the process, or ritual of being turned, and used it to scare him against leaving the forest they were staying in.

When he first arrived here, he was scared and confused… Then more and more humans started to hunt him. At first, he was able to hide and defend himself. But a few nights ago, a huge group of them appeared, and they brought weapons with them; weapons that could actually slow him down and hurt him.

Zheng was so scared, and he kept running, but they kept chasing after him.

Until he met the man, who sacrificed himself to save him from the scary silver-haired man with the terrible aura.

"Daddy… Mummy…" he thought with a low sigh.

The last thing he remembered before arriving at this new world was him playing chase with his parents, and his mother's horrified expression when he ran into the unknown portal that suddenly appeared in front of him. He did not even realize he had entered into another world until he glanced back and saw the portal disappearing behind him.

Thinking about his parents, a sad expression appeared on his face.

"I won't be able to see them now…" he thought sadly. He was still too young, and he did not have the ability to open up a vertical portal for himself, nor did he know the correct portal to open. Tears soon appeared at the corners of his eyes.

Looking at his sad expression, Juin thought that he was stressed over the issue, so he reached over and patted the boy on the head as he said gently, "It's fine. You can take your time to think about it… Nothing will happen to you as long as I'm here, alright?"

Zheng glanced at Juin, who was smiling at him despite his pain, and thought, "Do I want to bond with this weakling? But then again, he was able to call up that scary lion… He can't be that weak, right?"

After some consideration, Zheng finally sighed and nodded. It would be best if he stayed with someone who could take care of his meals for now. Since the man earlier said that he had to act according to the rules of this world, Zheng had a feeling that he might be unable to hunt like before.

As such, he needed someone that could feed him until he learned the rules of this weird world, where humans seemed to be at the top of the chain.

Upon hearing him, Juin laughed softly and said, "Don't worry, I'm usually the one who gets bossed around."

He thought for a while before saying, "We still need a name for you. Your name is too obvious, and it would give your identity away, especially those who chased you before. Mr. Thompson said that people would be coming after you once they knew of your identity, so we need to be careful of that."

Thinking about the silver-haired man, Zheng shivered again. Just the man's aura alone was enough to stop him from breathing. He nodded and said in a slightly trembling voice, "A-Alright…"

He cleared his throat and added, "But I don't know what I would like to be called, and I don't think that the names in my world will be suitable here. Give me some names so that I can choose."

Juin nodded. "Is there anything on your mind? What do your parents call you?"

Zheng shrugged. "Son."

"What if they have more than one son?" Juin asked with a slight frown.

"Impossible… A Nian can give birth to one child per lifetime."

Juin was slightly surprised by that information, but not so much. "I guess that's why you guys are a 'myth'... Then… What does your mother call your father?"

"Old Zheng…"

"... And let me guess, you're Little Zheng?"

"Yup." Zheng nodded.

Juin sighed and gave up. He thought for a while before saying, "How about… Cyrus? I read somewhere that Cyrus means sun… and when you were standing in front of me earlier, your blonde hair reminded me of a little sun…"

"Cy… rus…" Zheng thought for a while before nodding. "Ok, I like the sound of it. Cyrus. So I'm Cyrus from now on…"

At that moment, Juin felt a strange feeling in his heart, one that Zheng was experiencing as well. But since it was extremely fleeting, none of them paid any attention to it.

Especially since the door to the ward opened around the same time.

Upon seeing the man at the door, Zheng, or Cyrus, immediately ran to him and said excitedly and proudly, "I'm Cyrus! It means the sun!"

"Ah… I see," Mr. Thompson said with a gentle smile. He then placed a finger against his lips and signaled Cyrus to be quiet before stepping aside to let the doctors in. "Let the doctors do their work… We can play with Juin in a while…"

They watched as the two doctors checked on Juin's condition, and once they were sure Juin's vitals were fine, they wrote something in their notepads before leaving the room. Right before the door closed behind them, a middle-aged woman and a young teenage boy walked in.

"Mrs. Martin, Wesley!" Juin said before groaning in pain again.

Mrs. Martin immediately rushed forward. She placed the bag that she brought with her on the overbed table before tending to Juin. "Calm down! You're badly injured!"

"I'm fine…" Juin said with a pale face as Mrs. Martin helped him prop up his pillows. He took a while to gather his breath before asking, "How's everything at home?"

"Everyone's really worried about you," Wesley said while keeping his eyes on the boy with the oversized shirt. "Seriously, who is this kid? He's been here since you were admitted, and he refused to tell us his real identity. I'd make jokes about him being your son, but you're not that cool…"

"Wesley!" Mrs. Martin frowned at him and scolded, "Is this the time to joke around?"
