Mr. Thompson sighed forlornly as he thought about the old days, when he would explore the world with his friends. It was during one of the explorations that he met his wife, and not long after that, his daughter was born.

After a short trip down the memory lane, he shook his head and said in a serious tone, "There is no bad group, Juin, only bad people. You need to remember that."

Juin glanced at Cyrus, who was now lying on the couch and staring at them as he listened intently. He then looked back at the older man and said, "It's hard to tell who is good or who is bad…"

"You'll learn how to tell as you grow older and get more experiences…" Mr. Thompson said. "You'll learn how to listen to your instinct and with your heart, and you will know that sometimes, what you see is not the truth."

"That's… too vague… " Juin groaned. "I don't know what to do now, Mr. Thompson… I don't… I don't really want to be with any group, especially when it's a group that I can't leave without giving up something important. And I kept thinking, what if I joined the wrong group?"

"Like I said, there's no wrong group. Life is vague… And if you keep thinking about the 'what if', you will be achieving nothing, and you might end up dead before you can even figure it out." Mr. Thompson then said in a low tone, "Besides, even if you can't leave… you can change the group from within."

"What?" For some reason, Juin also lowered his voice when he replied.

Clearing his throat, Mr. Thompson explained, "Both the Nakamura Family and the Order… as well as the other groups… Everyone will want something from you. I think you already know that…

"The only difference is what they can give you. If you have no choice, I'll say go for the big ones. The Nakamura, the Order, or the Dark Night Clan. They have the resources that can help you grow, with the former two being bigger and wealthier than the latter. And protection as well. The smaller groups would think twice before they tried to go near you. And once you are strong enough, you can start to change things from within…" Mr. Thompson leaned forward slightly as he lowered his voice and said, "And that includes taking down those evildoers within the group."

Juin's eyes widened slightly as he listened to Mr. Thompson's words.

Mr. Thompson leaned back in his chair and crossed his legs. He thought for a while before saying, "Juin, you don't have much time to think too much into this. I know it's hard, but the Battle of the Underground Beings is being held this year, and because of that, the groups will come after you fervently. You need to make a choice fast. It doesn't matter what your true strength is, everyone knows that you are able to defend yourself against Luca Rockefeller…

"And when the news of the last incident is out, they will know about your ability to call up a Soul Beast."

"That's the Soul Beast of the demon within you?"

Juin nodded reluctantly.

"Regardless, it merely means that you are the vessel to a powerful demon. The groups will still come after you; in fact, they will send stronger people now. They will get you to join them, and then the Battle, and if you refused, they will find ways to extract the demon out from you."

"He has a demon within him?" Cyrus suddenly asked. This was the first he heard of it.

Mr. Thompson ignored him. He looked at Juin and said, "The Battle is important to every group as it's one of the ways they can get treasures from other dimensions."

Juin said to Cyrus, "I'll tell you about it later…"

He then looked at Mr. Thompson and nodded. "I've heard a little of the Battle, but I'm not sure what it's about… at least not in depth."

The were-idiots mentioned it in passing before, but at that time, Juin did not ask more about it.

Mr. Thompson gave him a rough description of what the Battle was and the rules governing different groups.

"The Organization that first started this battle is said to be an ancient organization from a dimension of a higher plane. They are a mysterious organization that has no name, nor faces. And it is widely believed that they came to Earth from their dimension more than thousands of years ago, and that their descendants have been communicating with the members of the Organization back home…"

"More organizations?" Juin sighed.

"This is the ultimate organization. Other than things related to the Battle, they don't interfere with anything else… It seems like they don't care about most of the rare artifacts and merely enjoy watching the battles…"

Juin frowned. "Do you really think so?"

Mr. Thompson shook his head. "No, but I don't know what it is that they want; no one does."

He doubted that Presley would know about it as well. Shaking his head, Mr. Thompson continued to explain the Battle and the types of games in the previous Battles.

"So, sometimes the Battles take place in another world?" Juin asked after Mr. Thompson told him about a Battle that occurred when he was young.

Mr. Thompson nodded. "This Organization seems capable of finding dimensions with a stable pathway and can create portals to these dimensions so that the participants can cross through and back safely…"

Once he was done explaining the basic history of the Battles, Mr. Thompson asked, "So, do you think you will be interested in joining?"

"I think if I go, it's sure death…"

"I won't be so sure about it…" Mr. Thompson said. "If you take Cyrus with you, there's only a handful of people who are stronger…"

"Cyrus is a kid…"

"A deadly kid… And he's a beast, first and foremost, and with powers that might be beyond your imagination…" Mr. Thompson said as he gave a brief glance at the kid who was now looking extremely proud of himself.

"But still a kid…" Juin sighed and said, "Besides, you told me that those who grew up within the various groups have been receiving training since young. They will, undoubtedly, know a lot of tricks and information on the participants, as well as the weapons and powers that the others wield."

"True," Mr. Thompson said, "but no one knows about the true extent of your powers… I don't think you know it yourself, right?"
