Looking up close, Juin noticed the redness in the boy's eyes, as well as the drying water stain on the latter's shirt collar. With a sigh, Juin took a Silent talisman out and activated it right in front of Wesley, causing the younger boy's mouth to part open slightly in shock.

Once he was sure that it was safe to talk, Juin looked at Wesley and said with a sad expression, "I have no choice… You heard what Mrs. Martin say earlier, right? When I went to look for Cyrus, I found out that at least one of them was a supernatural human. And I'm sure that if I asked around, I'd find that the other two were supernatural humans as well…"

"Supernatural humans… like you?"

"Yeah..." Juin nodded solemnly. "Like me…"

And he explained to Wesley why he thought that the murders were related to him. Once he was done talking, he added, "And the policemen that were here earlier? I'm 99% sure that one of them was a guard at the museum where I visited during a school trip. At that time, I knew nothing about the supernatural stuff… But now, I know. Whoever that was, he was very likely a supernatural human…"

Thinking about the small moving bump that was on the guard's neck back then, Juin mumbled, "And I'm sure he was being remotely controlled someone."

He had no idea if the guard himself even knew about it, but Juin was not going to lower his guard.

Looking at Wesley's slightly fearful expression, Juin continued, "So, you see… I can't stay here much longer. For you, Mrs. Martin, and the rest of the kids here… I have to leave. Or there will be more coming."

There was a long silence after Juin finished talking. Wesley had to take some time to digest everything, from the fight yesterday, of how those creatures were adamant about forcing Juin into joining them, to the talk with Mika Nakamura and Warlock… and now, the new information about the dead teenagers.

Everything meant one thing; Juin's fear was right. As long as he stayed, there would be more coming. "Then when can I see you again?" Wesley said with a slightly choked voice, no longer stubborn or angry about Juin's decision to leave immediately.

"I'll be back once I'm stronger and not easily threatened by others anymore…" Juin said with a sorrowful smile as he looked at Wesley in the eye. The plight of the weak had always been the same… The weak… would never have a chance to make their own decisions. They could only follow the path that the strong carved out for them.

Just like Juin now. He had to leave not because of his own wishes, but because he was forced into this. To change this, to avoid being manipulated again, he had to get stronger, and only by leaving and training with people who were stronger and more knowledgeable than him that he was able to do so.

"I promise you," Juin said after taking in a deep breath, "I'll definitely come back as soon as I can.

He then put out his pinky finger and smiled brightly. "Until then, you are the one responsible for keeping everyone alive…"

Wesley glanced at Juin's extended pinky finger, and after a while, he hooked his own's pinky finger with it as he said confidently, "I'll grow strong in my own way too. You'll see."

That night, after everyone went to bed, Juin had a talk with Lucifer in his Soul Dimension.

"I don't feel comfortable leaving their safety to President Presley alone…" Juin admitted while sprawled out on the white ground. He had just undergone another gruelling practice and was given a short break while his soul power reserve slowly replenished itself. "Is there a way where I can somehow protect them from afar?"

Lucifer paced around as he thought about Juin's questions. After about a minute or so, he nodded and said, "There's a way, but I'm not sure you can do it yet."

"What?" Juin gasped, sitting up immediately. His eyes widened with interest.

"Leave your energy signature on a piece of item…" Lucifer said. "This was something that we used to do for our human servants back at Alercane. Sometimes, the demons or supernatural creatures get attached to some of their human servants. Thus, they would want to protect their human servants. To do so, they would often gift something small to their servants, a table, a hairpin, or a necklace… A small energy signature would be placed within these items, which could be activated in times of danger…"

Hearing Lucifer's explanation, Juin got excited, and he quickly stood up and walked to where Lucifer was. "And it would protect the servants?"

Lucifer nodded. "For a short while… Your energy signature is a part of you, and once activated, an image of you would appear and protect the person who activated the tablet. And you don't need any special spells to activate it, so this is the best way to protect humans…"

With a grin, Lucifer added while floating up in midair, "And the best thing is, this energy signature that one places in an item will grow along with the owner. Basically, if the owner gets stronger, the energy signature will grow stronger too…"

Juin smiled, but the smile was quickly dropped.

"What's wrong?" Lucifer asked. He thought that Juin would be happy to know that there was a way to protect Wesley and the rest from afar.

"What's… the catch?" Juin asked through gritted teeth. He had learned enough to know that with everything, there would be a consequence. There was no way one could just

"Oh…"

Lucifer cleared his throat and said, "When activated, basically, a version of you will appear to protect the person who activated the item with your energy signature. But it can only be activated once… and this version of you will only last for a short while… Maybe 2 minutes… And if you died, every item with your energy signature on it would return back to be just a normal item. As for how many items you can create, that depends on your soul power. It takes a lot of soul power just to create one, so usually, these items would only be given to very special human servants."

And the moment Lucifer was done talking, he looked down and saw that Juin's expression had changed for the worst.

"Is this the only way?" Juin asked, looking up at Lucifer.

"At your level, yes…"

Taking in a few breaths, Juin then nodded and said, "Then, please teach me how to create one…"

There was no point complaining anymore. He was running out of time.

The next day, Juin woke up later than usual. In fact, it was already afternoon by the time he woke up.

Once he learned how to create an item infused with his energy signature, he spent the rest of the night trying to create one. His soul power reserve was too weak, and in the end, he could only create two of them. One was a leather bracelet, which he took from Wesley's table, and the other was a simple silver arrowhead pendant that he also took from Wesley's table.

"Hey, your ride is here…" Wesley said as he looked outside from their bedroom window. "Mrs. Martin is out there now…"

Juin glanced at him briefly before quickly finished packing his stuff. Once he was done, he looked at Wesley. Taking the bracelet out from his jeans pocket, he said, "This is for you…"

"Hey," Wesley took the leather bracelet and said, "this is mine!"

"If you are ever in danger, use this…" Juin said, taking it back from Wesley and putting it on Wesley's wrist. "Just put a drop of your blood on it…"

Wesley looked at the bracelet. It still looked the same as before. But if Juin said so, Wesley knew he must have done something to it. "Thanks…"

"Don't ever remove it…" Juin warned. He then took out the arrowhead pendant. After looking at it for a while, he said, "Give this to Max after I'm gone… And tell her the same thing I told you. As for the blood thing, just make up something along the way. You read a lot of fantasy books, so I'm sure you're better at making things up than me."

"Why don't you just give it to her yourself?" Wesley asked, looking at the arrowhead pendant on his palm. He had grown bored of it, so he took it off and hadn't been wearing it for months.

"Erm…" Juin scratched the side of his temple awkwardly as he mumbled, "We had a slight argument… Besides, I didn't tell her that I'm leaving today."

"She's going to be furious once she found out," Wesley warned, pocketing the arrowhead pendant.

"I think it's better this way…" Juin mumbled as he picked up his bags. Since he had no attachment to any physical items and no habits of buying unnecessary things, he did not have that many things to bring with him.

His items were only enough to fill up two backpacks, and even then, one of the backpacks was filled with the supernatural-related books he received recently.

"Juin!"

When they heard Mrs. Martin's voice, the boys glanced at each other before leaving their room.
