Once the boy, Arthur, woke up, Tucker, Juin, and Cyrus bid the doctor goodbye and took him back to their abode, which was a building within 5 minutes' walk from the arena and the castle.

The building itself had red roofs and was luxuriously decorated from inside to outside, with golden silk curtains decorating the floor-to-ceiling windows.

Apparently, this building was used as accommodation for the royals during the summer balls. Usually, the next ball would be held around this week, to mark the arrival of summer, but since this year would be the year for the visit by members of the Order, the summer ball was postponed to next week so that the members of the Order could join the royals for a night of festive.

The butler, who was also a half-n.a.k.e.d man and whose markings on the abdomen glowed with a yellow glow occasionally, narrated the history of the building, as well as the rules, as he led them toward their rooms.

While listening to the butler's narration, Juin and Cyrus' attention was also somewhat captured by the designs of the building. The inside of the building was made of white marble, yet it did not feel cold at all.

In fact, it felt warm, almost like they were being warmed by sunlight. The warm also made Cyrus feel a lot better since it reminded him of land, and he was now back to his mischievous self, running around looking at things or touching everything he saw under the disapproving gaze and polite smile of the other servants.

"It's a ward…" Juin thought to himself. "I should learn some survival wards as well… They might come in handy someday…"

His mind was completely taken off topic. No longer was he thinking about the war of ranks among the people of Arconis, but instead, he was focused on his current surroundings.

Even the design of the floors and walls were unique. As they walked, they could see that the drawings of the fishes and waves on the walls and the floors moved, as if they were swimming within the materials.

"Wow…" Juin and Cyrus both had their jaws wide open as they walked. They had never seen this kind of design before. Cyrus aside, even Juin who grew up in a world that had plenty of technologies popping up everyday had never seen this kind of decoration.

The fishes weren't just holograms. When he reached out to touch one of the golden fishes on the wall, he could actually feel it moving underneath his hand.

"It's primitive yet advanced… Cool, huh?" Tucker said with a chuckle when he saw the impressed expression on Juin and Cyrus' faces. "You kids will need to travel more, then you won't be easily impressed as this…"

He then walked in front of them with his hands in his pocket.

"Why is he acting so cool for?" Juin sighed as he looked at Cyrus.

"Probably to hide the fact that he used to be us. I'll ask Ms. Lann. She would know!" Cyrus whispered to Juin before they walked behind Tucker.

The boys all shared a room while Tucker took the one next to them.

When they were alone in the room, Arthur asked timidly while sitting on a dark blue soft-comfy shell-like armchair that was so soft that he almost fell asleep in it, "Mr. Juin, I don't think this is appropriate… You can just send me back to the palace..."

He felt so uncomfortable just sitting inside the room, fearing that he might break something or dirty the things inside the room.

"It's alright. We can't send you back now," Juin said as he took out a set of Cyrus' clothes from the latter's bag. He then walked over to Arthur and said kindly, "We brought extra clothes. You can have this set…"

It was just a simple set of a black t-shirt and black pants, but Arthur seemed so happy with it. However, his smile quickly turned into a frown as he pushed back the gift.

"Why?" Juin asked curiously, "Do you not like it? It's a little big, but you will grow into it quickly."

Arthur shook his head and said, "I'm a slave… I can't own anything nice, or they will hit me or say that I stole it…"

"Huh?" Juin exchanged glances with Cyrus before asking Arthur, "Didn't you say that Princess Cecile said that you were not a slave?"

Arthur looked down at his broken leg, which was now in a cast, and murmured, "Only Princess Cecile said that… But by King Frederic's law, someone with the color of my markings is always a slave and cannot be given freedom."

His eyes sharpened slightly, and at the same time, he clenched his fist when he mentioned the words "King Frederic". His actions did not go unnoticed, but the other two boys did not say anything.

From what they gathered from Doctor Adelie, Arthur's brother, Mathis, was captured by King Frederic. For his role in the rebellion, he was executed in public, and his head was hung on the front gate of the palace for 3 days to serve as a warning to all those who intended to rebel, as well as to those rebels who had yet to be caught.

And for Arthur, whom they found out later, was actually 10 years old. They thought that he was around seven years old because of his age and size, but they were wrong. He was only that small because of long-term malnourishment.

According to Arthur, Princess Cecile tried to help out. But every time she sent some food and money over, it would all be taken by the other "slaves" or intercepted by the guards of the palace, who then took everything before warning Arthur to give over whatever he had received from the princess.

So that the princess would not be worried about him, Arthur had been lying to her, telling her that he was eating well.

Up until a few months ago, Princess Cecile snuck out of the palace and went to the slaves quarter where Arthur was living, and she found a few guards picking on him. After teaching the guards a lesson, she took Arthur back with her, and despite everyone's protest, she kept him inside the palace and made sure that he would be able to eat and rest well.

"Mr. Juin…" Arthur suddenly looked up with a sad expression.

"Yeah?"

"I don't want anything from you. I can live on poorly, it doesn't matter..." Arthur said with a solemn expression; one that did not fit his young baby-ish face. "But can you please help me save Princess Cecile? If you can, I'll give my life to you, and I'll do whatever you want me to do."

Taken aback by the sudden request, Juin pointed to himself and asked, "Me?"
