Meanwhile, on the seabed a few hundred kilometers away from Arconia, a heavily injured slightly tanned woman with blue hair lay on her back with a trident laying not far away from her right side. Her plain dress that was stained with blood was so tattered that it did not befit someone of her status, yet that was the least of her trouble.

Crimson red blood was flowing out of the gaping wound on her c.h.e.s.t as she stared up at the schools of fishes that were watching her; their mouths moving, as if they were crying for her.

"That… monster…" she thought as she glanced to her right hand, which was still clenched in a tight fist. As she slowly unfurled her fingers, a golden-colored beetle was revealed to be crushed within it.

"I guess… I have used all my borrowed luck…" she thought as she closed her eyes. Her mind went back to earlier.

...

After the first explosion was set off, she and her team went to meet the Water Hunters who were tasked to protect the slaves and bring them to safety. They then went to the slave jail and after killing all the guards, they saved all those badly emaciated and tortured slaves before setting off a second explosion.

With the help of the Water Hunters, who had been given a piece of mutton jade with Crown Prince Warrick's soul power, when she activated the spell that caused the second explosion, she also set off a series of earthquakes on the seabed, which resulted in the megatsunami that scared the citizens of Acronis into evacuating.

She actually had no d.e.s.i.r.e of using Crown Prince Warrick's help, but when she saw the state of the slaves who had been jailed, her anger took over her, and she decided to teach everyone a lesson.

In addition, this would also give them more time to escape from the city with those injured slaves.

It wasn't hard for them to escape. Following the second explosion, all the borders were opened up so that the citizens could escape. And since the guards had either deserted their post or too busy to pay attention to everyone, Cecile and the rest of them managed to get out of Acronis without encountering any trouble.

When they were escaping earlier, the Water Hunters told her that they saw Frederic heading in a direction, so they moved in that direction.

After following Frederic's trail for a while, they were shocked to find a trail of dead bodies.

"Those…" Cecile frowned when she saw the dead bodies. "Those are the bodies of the man's guards. Stay alert!"

The Water Hunters around her glanced at each other before activating their invisibility spell, protecting her from behind the scene. On the surface, she looked like she was moving alone, but there were actually a dozen highly-skilled Water Hunters protecting her from all around.

Cecile even took Poseidon's Trident out of her Dimensional Pouch just in case of a sudden attack.

She then followed the trail of bodies, using her soul shield to cover up her aura and presence, in case this was a trick by the old man. When she reached the 15th dead body, she continued to move forward for another 2 kilometers, but there was no more dead body for her to follow.

In such a huge sea, she could not just move blindly.

"Where could he be? Who killed those guards?" Cecile thought to herself as she floated in midair. Those were the king's strongest guards, yet their dead bodies suggested that they were killed easily, perhaps in less than a few seconds each.

As she was thinking, schools of fish dashed past her and the invisible Water Hunters. It took her a few seconds before she realized that those fishes were escaping from something.

"Your Highness…" one of the hidden Water Hunters suddenly said in a warning tone.

Princess Cecile raised a hand to signal to them. She understood what the Water Hunter wanted to say without the need for words. After all, just like them, she grew up in the sea.

"Let's go…" she muttered in a determined voice.

Following the opposite direction of those schools of fish, she saw signs of a battle. Deep trenches in the seabed, broken rocks, floating bodies of aquatic creatures, both tiny as a guppy and huge as a whale...

And about 15 kilometers away from the last body, she stumbled into an unbelievable sight.

"F-Frederic…?" she stuttered in disbelief while staring at the crumpled dead body laying on a rock. A red royal robe was floating in the seawater nearby, leaving a trail of diluted crimson water as it slowly floated down.

Princess Cecile was completely stunned as she stared at the body. The man's body was completely pale, even paler than what was considered normal for Atlanteans. His cheeks were sunken in, and his eyes were wide open, and there was a huge gaping hole where his heart should be.

He was, as per Cecile's wish, as dead as one could be… And by the sight of it, he died a terrible death.

"No!" Cecile yelled when she finally registered everything. Her hand gripped onto the trident tightly as she cried. She had wanted him dead, that was for sure. But she wanted to be the one to kill him!

"Who did this?!" she yelled. She looked around, but she could not see anyone. She then turned back, hoping that the Water Hunters could answer her, yet she was stunned by what she saw.

The seawater seemed to have turned completely red with their blood.

"W-what…" Cecile stuttered as she slowly moved backward. When her back suddenly bumped into something, she was so scared that she could not react much.

"What are you doing here, Princess Cecile?" a calm, familiar voice said from behind her.

She recognized this voice, so she slowly turned around.

PAP!

She heard the sound at the same time as when she saw the face of the perpetrator; those dead, silver eyes, bloodstained silver hair, and the cold cruel smile. All on a face of a beautiful man...

"You shouldn't be here…" said the man, whom she had known almost all her life, coldly. "You could have been a great queen…"

He then pulled his hand back, leaving a streak of crimson blood as he moved.

"Argh!" Cecile cried out as she spat out a mouthful of blood before falling down onto the seabed. Blood continued to seep out of the hole in her c.h.e.s.t.

Looking at the princess that was on her deathbed, he smiled again as he said, "Sorry about this."

The moment those words left his mouth, he turned around and dropped her heart near the body of the dead king as he floated away from the scene.
