“’Stit-sucking whore!” Arx yelled frantically. “Do not die on me, you bitch!”

Lynnria did not reply save to cough up some blood on her shoulder.

Arx swore again, though she scarcely had the breath for it anymore. It was one thing to carry her Dearest on her back, but his pet, too? If this went on much longer, she was going to have to leave the girl behind.

And she could not bring herself to imagine his face when he found out.

Come on, Arx! Keep moving! Go… go… go!

The bricks were almost on them, and she had yet to find a turn to escape them. All she could do was keep pumping her legs, but they burned with such fatigue they might as well have been molten lead.

‘Snail-biting lefts! Why are they always so long?!

They were coming. Thoom. Thoom! THOOM!

Come on! Come on! Please!

Terrified squeals percolated out of her throat, only vaguely coming together into the semblance of a melody. But then abruptly, the long-awaited thrill ran up her spine.

There!

At the last moment, she rolled to the right into a side-corridor, almost throwing her cargo of dead weight before her. The row of huge boulders missed crushing them by less than a second.

Arx stood there for several handfuls of seconds, trembling while the dust settled. She just wanted a minute to fucking breathe! But she knew the damned things would be back before she ever got her wind back.

Hastily, she snatched her up Dearest’s bag from where it hung from about her neck. She had already plowed through their entire stock of Minor Gems. Then the Lesser. She had even downed four of the Average. Not to fill her Core. It was all purely for the sake of keeping her feet moving.

But no messages had come. The Lady had remained completely silent. There had been nothing when she had been poisoned. Nor for the Lust that came after. And now, not even a simple notice to let her know her Core was full.

Nothing.

It worried her. But there were far more pressing concerns to attend to.

“Inventory,” she sounded between sucking gasps, her own in counterpoint to the rattling wheezing coming from the girl.

She had to wake her Dearest soon. His pet was fading fast.

Unfortunately, the how of it was escaping her. She had been feeding him as best she could when they had the opportunity to rest, to no avail. She had even been attempting that little ritual he had discovered, though that was mostly to prevent Core overfill. She did not know its name, but it involved consuming a Gem at the same time he did.

That had been weird. And made her really horny. Which had helped, if for no other reason than to keep the Life flowing from between her legs. But by Maeve’s own tits, was she ever getting frustrated. When they got out of this, she was going to bury his cock so far up her, he would never find it again!

Then there had been the strange visions that kept intruding on her thoughts. They had been dreamlike and indistinct, but they had been strongest during the ritual. Some white place. Hunger. Then those two heartbreakingly beautiful women. There had been no words to accompany their conversation, but they had seemed… adversarial? Almost like they had been sparring with one another.

She gave her head a quick shake.

The transparent images of the bag’s contents had again popped into view, and she quickly tapped out another of the Average Gems for herself. But when she went to grab one for the master, she hesitated. The Rank I’s were quite weak for him.

Maybe something stronger?

Her eyes drifted down to the Rank II’s. Then the Rank III’s.

Her vision unfocused for a moment as the idea warred with her better judgment. That Grand Rank III was just sitting there. Waiting. Gathering dust ever since she had wrested it from the Tongue-Flower’s fading corpse.

By itself, it would kill him. There could be no doubt of that.

But with the ritual? She had already consumed enough Gems of Power to knock herself into torpor thrice over. Sane ideas were not cutting it any longer. It was time for something a little more… drastic.

She took a quick breath and tapped on the glowing icon before she could talk herself out of it. Once the screen winked out, she snatched the pair of faintly luminous stones from the air and paused to listen. The falling bricks were distant now, but they would soon be back.

…and in greater numbers…

She squeezed her eyes shut and blinked a few times. That had felt like her master, but it had not been his voice. She had never heard its like before. It had been… fragile. Weakened somehow, as though from illness. Yet it had commanded authority.

“Another vision,” she decided.

Still exhausted beyond reason, she dragged her two companions some distance down the corridor. She wanted to give this as much time as she could before they were interrupted again. Every muscle in her body was screaming at her to stop and rest, but she ignored them.

…can rest when you’re dead…

“What? That doesn’t even…” She shook her head. “No, never mind.”

She took a breath to calm herself. She had to do this. There was no other choice.

“‘Snails… don’t be wrong about this.”

If it turned out this did not work—or worse, there was some other option she had not considered and they all died, she would never forgive herself.

The end of their hallway smashed into oblivion, sending an invisible cloud of dust rolling through the air.

“Just do it. Stop thinking and do it.”

She swallowed nervously, then hastily popped the Average Gem into her mouth. After a few false starts where should could not quite convince her arms to move, she opened her master’s mouth and, with trembling fingers, gingerly tucked the Grand Rank III into his cheek.

For a moment, she held a hand over his Core, as though by doing so, she could somehow prevent it from exploding.

“Please work. Please work…”

Then the Power hit her.

Jax sprang to her feet, ignoring the ropes of cum fountaining into the air and the sleeping woman’s tongue that been hovering ever so close to the heat between her legs.

“Master!”

Smoke billowed from her as she bounded up the wall.

“I’s coming!”

*****

The strange rectangle flickered and flashed a few times before abruptly turning black. And began to smoke.

“Was… was it supposed to do that?” Ahnbe asked.

“Um…?” Mia replied nervously.

There had not actually been anything to see—what with the darkness of the maze—but she had heard plenty. And she had a very, very bad feeling.

“You will have to excuse me, Ahnbe. I suddenly find that I am needed elsewhere. Rather urgently.”

With that, she turned and bolted toward a door that had conveniently appeared out of absolutely nowhere.

“W-wait a minute!” the goddess yelled behind her. “That didn’t tell me a thing! Where the blazes is my Chosen!”

“I don’t know!” Mia snapped as she vaulted over the couch. Snatching the door open, she cast a final look over her shoulder. “They were fighting some kind of man made out of planks of wood earlier. Hope that helps!”

As those final words echoed up the stairwell, Ahnbe frowned.

“Planks of wood?” Her frown turned into a snarl, and her hand clenched into a fist. “Fucking… balls!”

Hey folks!

I've got merch! That's right, about a month ago, I hired an artist to do some character portraits, and I figured, 'What better way to use them, than letting you guys buy your favorite girl. As a mug!'

Yeah... what can I say? I like coffee.

Anyway, here's the store:
