Chapter 44: Let's Go On A Date
Sera and Ethan were at a famous diner called 'Cory's comfort food', It was a western style restaurant and was highly ranked among other restaurants.
The ambience was pleasant and lively, the guests present were also quite lively and mostly youngsters. The decor was minimalist yet colorful.
Ethan was acquainted with the gentleman owning this place, Cory was a long time friend of both Ethan and Lucifer.
Sera was greeted with a familiar comforting, warm smell of fresh food. Her eyes instantly glistened with happiness. Such a glutton she was!
"Hey! I didn't expect you to bring such a beautiful lady to my humble abode", Cory quipped when he saw Ethan.
"Hey Cory, meet Miss Seraphina Lu. Miss Lu, my friend Cory. He's from Country A", Ethan briefly introduced them.
"Hello", Sera smiled and shook hands.
"Well.. I'm too busy so I'll leave you two..", Cory strode away winking at Ethan after their brief chat.
They ordered lots food and drinks. Sera was feeling full and excused herself to the washroom, on the way her eyes darted to a familiar figure. Surprised she walked, changing her direction.
Lucifer was on his phone speaking in a cold voice, his expression frosty and his gray eyes dark.
"Hmm, I understand! Retreat at once, I don't want to lose my men to his stupid schemes", he bit out in anger.
Sera was nearly choked hearing his voice, she wanted to ask him so many things but she was afraid. She was too scared to put forth her questions.
Slowly Sera retracted her steps and walked back to her seat. Ethan was preparing to leave when he saw Lucifer at the door. Surprised he called out to him.
Lucifer had sensed something familiar while he was on the phone, he pushed back his thoughts and prepared to walk out when Ethan called him.
Lucifer was stunned to find Sera and Ethan, he smiled and walked towards their table.
"So.. You're here?", Lucifer spoke looking at Sera.
"Yeah, We were having lunch here", Ethan answered.
"Oh! Lunch?", Lucifer was still looking at Sera gauging her little face.
"Are you heading home?", Ethan inquired.
"Yes.. Why?", Lucifer asked slowly.
"I have a meeting in few minutes, Could you please drop Miss Lu back?", Ethan asked hoping for Lucifer to agree.
Sera wanted to refuse when Lucifer saw her reaction and spoke making Sera bite her lips in frustration,
"Sure, I can. If Miss Lu is willing", his gaze was sinister and Sera shuddered in fear.
"Why not! Miss Lu shouldn't have any problem as you're my friend! right?", Ethan asked Sera to which she could only nod meekly.
The trio walked out of the restaurant and entered their respective cars, Sera didn't drive because she wasn't skilled enough and avoided driving.
Sera nervously sat at the passenger seat as Lucifer walked to his seat and sat without even glancing at her.
She knew he was upset but she had no idea why!
"Is it because I ate lunch with Ethan? or because of his phonecall? Shit! Did he find out i was present there and was angry at me for eavesdropping? Perhaps he saw me running", Sera was close to pulling her hair when she heard Lucifer speak.
"Let's go on a date", Lucifer blurted interrupting Sera's train of thoughts.
Sera looked at the man beside her, he had a bashful expression on his faces, his eyebrows furrowing lightly while his eyes glared straight ahead.
Lucifer was indeed upset but not with Sera, he was upset with himself for being so stupid! He wasn't thoughtful at all, he had never ate a meal with Sera nor brought her out on dates.
Seeing Sera dining with Ethan he felt uneasy, he never had the privilege of eating with her, strolling around holding her hand, watching movies, playing games, nothing!
Sera was surprised, stunned silly by the sudden declaration. He was clearly imposing himself but Sera wasn't least bit unhappy, instead she was feeling touched, she was happy.
Sera looked at him, Lucifer was feeling jittery waiting for her answer. His anticipating gaze was boring a hole into her.
"I'd love to..", Sera beamed, before she could finish he lunged forward blocking her and kissed her.
Sera wasn't expecting him to suddenly kiss her, nevertheless she still smiled and responded to him.. Making Lucifer content, he pulled away and drove ahead.
