A young man stood at the door of a bedroom. The door was wide open, so he could observe the situation in the room. On the bed, there was someone busy reading a book. Beside him, neatly lined up several books. At the end of the bed was an ancient-looking black wooden box.
The young man walked into the room. He walked so carefully that he didn't make any sound. However, at the last step, his foot stepped on something. There was a sound as a result of that. The sound was not loud, but enough to make the person reading it look up.
"Ah! You're here?" the person sitting on the bed smiled. His face showed no surprise.
The young man who had just arrived nodded. "What are you reading? It looks so interesting."
"I don't know if this book is interesting or boring. So far, it's confusing."
"Where did you get these books from?" The young man pointed at the row of books on the bed.
"I found it in that wooden box."
"Wooden box?"
"While walking home earlier, I found the wooden box in the middle of the road. Maybe the box fell from a vehicle. I took it home because I didn't want it to be run over by passing vehicles. I also couldn't leave it on the side of the road because someone else might steal it."
"But what you're doing, isn't it the same as stealing the box?"
"Of course not. I'll be back there again. I wish the owner of the box was there looking for their belonging."
"How does he know this box fell there? It's possible that it fell somewhere else. I think the chances that the person will be there are very slim."
"I know. Nevertheless, I have to go there."
"What if after you waited a while, still no one came?"
"I'll wait a few hours. If no one claims these things, then I'll turn them over to the police."
"When are you leaving?"
"Now."
"Eh? Have you finished reading the book?"
"When you came into this room, I was already on the last line on the last page. The book isn't thick, so it shouldn't take me long to read through it."
"Can I read it?"
"Of course you can. But if you choose to stay here while I'm away, then you must stay until I return."
"Okay! You don't have to worry."

After saying that, the room owner immediately stepped outside, leaving his friend alone.

The young man realized that the books were serials. But, the smallest number was not the number one. It meant the books were incomplete.
"How could I start reading this story, not from the beginning?" He mumbled to himself. But because he was already there, he finally opened the book his friend had just finished reading.
