Lady Melissa soon finished her breakfast, which consisted of some salad and milk, which was her go to breakfast as well.
Melissa headed back up to her room, deciding that it was time for her to get some work done, and she was curious about the list Derreck would prepare.
Lady Melissa would ask Justin to run a thorough background check on each and every one of them, though she knew Derreck had probably already done so.
It wouldn't hurt to learn more about each of the soon to-be bodyguards right? Or at least some of the soon to be bodyguards.
As Lady Melissa just finished another pile of paperwork there was a knock on the door, Lady Melisssa assumed that it was Derreck allowing him in.
"Come in."
Lady Melissa said, as she put back the pen that she was using to do some of the paperwork, staring at the door.
"Good Morning Lady Melissa, I've managed to find some bodyguards that would be suitable for you, here is the list."
Derreck said, as he handed over the list of Lady Melissa's possible new bodyguards to Lady Melissa who gently put it on her desk.
Lady Melissa had used to be impressed by how fast Derreck could get work done, and she still was impressed by it till this day.
Though then again it made sense, Derreck was the head butler for a reason, and the Shayla estate wouldn't even consider him as a candidate for their head butler if they didn't think he was up to it.
Even with his bloodline, sometimes exceptions couldn't be made.
"You're dismissed."
Lady Melissa said, while signaling Derreck to leave her room,as Derreck soon left her room following Lady Melissa's instructions.
Lady Melissa opened the file, skimming through it as she observed the candidates faces and names, before telling Justin to come closer.
"Justin, come here!"
Lady Melissa shouted, as Justin soon followed her orders heading closer to Lady Melissa, wondering why she had called for him, though if he were to guess it was most likely related to whatever Derreck and her had been talking about with each other.
And would you know it, Justin was completely right, Lady Melissa had called for him to investigate all the men, and women that were in the file.
Though there were only 3 women and 7 men out of a total of 10 people, that was expected since women were biologically less stronger than men.
"I need you to investigate everyone who's on this file, I expect each individual file or report about each of them by tomorrow. Can I expect you to do that?"
Lady Melissa asked, telling Justin to investigate everyone who was on the file and that she expected him to be finished with investigating them by tomorrow, with a report on each and every one of the individuals.
"Yes, you can count on me Lady Melissa."
Justin said to Lady Melissa as she nodded her head. The only one who was close to being able to manage their time well with Derreck was Justin.
Even Lady Melissa had to admit that she had problems managing her time sometimes, since more often than not she would have a busy day.
Hence it would be quite the challenge for her to be able to do her work with the number of errands or things she had to do on that same day.
Lady Melissa felt as if there weren't enough hours in a day, and understandably so, though she hadn't been feeling like that recently since most of her lessons had been cut.
Lady Melissa had more time to relax, to breathe and to just concentrate on the reason why she had been given a second chance at life.
Which was to take down the Crown Prince and make him regret ever being born.
A few days had passed ever since Lady Melissa had asked Justin for the report, and surprisingly in those few days the guild hadn't communicated with her.
Though at the same time Lady Melissa wasn't that surprised considering that they were investigating something related to the royal family or more specifically the Crown Prince.
Or maybe the more suitable word for it was researching rather than investigating since to a certain extent they were researching.
Justin had already given Lady Melissa each of the individual reports regarding the bodyguards a few days ago.
He had once again, managed to reach her expectations as he gave her the report of each one of them the next day.
Lady Melissa had read each and one of the reports that Justin had prepared for her several times, and nothing was off about them.
Derreck really knew how to choose the right people for the job, though he had to or else he would've been fired if he didn't.
Since all of them came from different backgrounds and they were all decent people, Lady Melissa decided to choose the three people that seemed different from the rest.
One woman, and two men, the woman had been living off the streets in her childhood, similar to Justin though not exactly the same thing since she was an orphan.
Unfortunately, the orphanage that had taken care of her was a corrupt one, filled with greedy employees who took advantage of the money being donated by nobles, and even by some rich peasants.
The woman, named Clara, had been kicked out of the orphanage because there was nobody who had wanted to adopt her, ever since she was a baby.
Clara had been dropped in the orphanage when she was a baby by her mother, probably because the mother either had an affair while she was married, or the man was married and he had an affair with her.
Or that the mother was a commoner, and didn't have enough money to take care of her child. After all there weren't plenty of reasons a parent would drop their child in an orphanage.
At least Lady Melissa assumed those were the reasons Lady Melissa thought Clara's mother would have.
