Chapter 423: The Phone On The Table
*Quick heads up. Deng Haoren is actually the dad and Deng Yi is the son. I've mixed them up XD. Changed it now and wanted to give a heads-up.
Lu Chen didn't think much about the sneezing as he started to work. And it was a good amount of work. Well, because of one person causing more problems than necessary.
"Dammit! Go back to practicing, you brat!" Lu Chen roared as he slapped Zhang Jian in the head.
This man was causing so much trouble!
"Sorry, CEO. I'll bring him back." The person who said this was Zhang Jian's trainer.
"I want barbeque! I want to eat oily foods! I want to eat something that tastes good!" Zhang Jian complained while being dragged out of the room by his trainer.
He couldn't take it. He needed to eat oily food as much as possible!
I know, you brat. Lu Chen understood. That was why he didn't hit him that hard. But that didn't mean he could annoy him like this!
He looked up at the ceiling and knitted his forehead.
Ring Ring. Lu Chen's office phone started to ring, and Lu Chen clicked on it,
"What is it?"
"CEO, Ms. Ye is here."
"Send her up." Lu Chen said with a sigh. It didn't take a few seconds as Ye Meixiu came rushing into his office!
"Brother Chen!" Ye Meixiu screamed.
"Woah!" Ye Meixiu was literally flying as Lu Chen caught her in his arms, and her head fell into his chest. Lu Chen sighed in relief as he scolded,
"You gotta stop doing that. You're going to get yourself hurt." Ye Meixiu stuck out her tongue,
"I know I won't ever get hurt."
"How do you know that?" What? Was she psychic?
There was a bright smile as Ye Meixiu said, "That's because brother will always be here to stop me from hurting myself."
"..." Lu Chen didn't know what to say. But then Ye Meixiu brought up the box in her hand,
"I made you lunch again." Ye Meixiu added.
Again? Lu Chen gave a wry smile. Ye Meixiu always gave him lunches whether he liked it or not.
"You know, you don't have to make lunch for me all the time." Ye Meixiu made lunch for Lu Chen all the time. It has become a daily habit now.
Ye Meixiu shook her head, "But I like making food for you." Her face became downcasted as she asked, "Do you not like it when I bring food for you?"
Now it was time Lu Chen shook his head, "Of course not! I think your food is one of the most delicious things I've eaten."
"Good. Then I'm one step closer to stealing your heart!" Ye Meixiu made a small fist bump.
"Huh?" Am I missing something?
"Don't you know the saying? You have to go for the man's stomach before going for the heart. So I'm one step closer to stealing your heart."
"..." Lu Chen was stunned, speechless. He was shot in the heart by what she said. That smile is just unfair.
That smile could slay anyone.
"Let me go get some tea." Lu Chen said as he walked out of the office for a few seconds. But as he did that,
The smile on Ye Meixiu's face turned into a devilish one.
Kya! I made brother Chen's heart go dump dump! She could feel his heart beating even faster than before. She began to roll around on the couch, remembering it.
But then she looked down at the table and saw a phone. Lu Chen left it there.
Kya, no! Ye Meixiu slapped her hand as she almost went and grabbed Lu Chen's phone! Unconsciously, her hand was going for it again! This lasted for a couple of minutes.
Ye Meixiu, this is not the time for you to go crazy and ruin everything that you built up!
Any small thing could destroy any trust Lu Chen had in her.
But her eyes were still on the phone. Maybe just a little peek! But her words were gone in an instant.
That shred of will was gone as she quickly grabbed the phone.
