After the incident, Nirra and Ellie stood and stared at the dead bear carcass. "Who do you think was the girl?" Ellie spoke, breaking the silence.

"I don't know; maybe it's all an accident-" she said. Just as Nirra was about to finish the girl from earlier, she jumped out of the bush she was hiding in and faced the twins. Nirra immediately pulled out her musket, aiming at the strange girl who had lured a huge bear towards them.

"Wait! wait! wait! Don't kill me." She yelled as she immediately stopped.

"Who are you? And why was that bear attacking you?" Nirra asked, aiming her sights down at the stranger.

"I'm Edwinda Dalton, D-Rank Alchemist for the guild!" She said it out loud to try to get Nirra to stop put away that weapon. Nirra nodded and slowly put away her musket, holding it upright on her back using the sling.

"What's an alchemist doing in a forest getting attacked by a bear?" Ellie spoke; she looked down at Edwina's appearance and confirmed that she was indeed an alchemist.

She had red hair with blue eyes and wore a brown cape with golden accents, complete with a hood. Underneath it, she wore a white tunic with brown long pants and brown boots. On her belt are several different kinds of vials, probably used for combat against hostile threats.

"I was looking for some materials needed to finish my experiment but, uh, that bear showed up out of nowhere and suddenly attacked me!" She explained while she gestured at the events that transpired.

"I see, and why do you need tree sap?" Nirra raised an eyebrow.

"It's for a new potion I'm making." She said proudly sticking out her chest.

"What kind of potion?" Nirra dug deeper into the matter.

"A quick recovery potion; potions that recover one's stamina." She answered.

"Alright, good luck with it then. Now onto more pressing issues," Nirra said as the three then turned their sights on the dead bear. "Why was this bear here? Isn't this forest supposed to be free of any large predators?"

"Yes, it's really strange. Normally, bears are found in the denser forests, more north of here." Edwina said as she kneeled down and inspected the carcass.

"Hey, look at these wounds. I'm sure my sword or her weapon couldn't have done this kind of damage," Ellie said as she pointed at the bear's back, which had strange claw marks. Edwina took a closer look at the wound.

"This wound isin't fresh judging by the way it's trying to heal. It could've taken a week since this happened," she said and stood back up facing the twins.

"This is all very peculiar. Let's head back and report it to the guild." Nirra recommended it, and they agreed. The group left the scene, slowly walking south towards the city of Redfield.

"Say, I never did get your names," Edwina said.

"I'm Ellie," Ellie said.

"Nirra," Nirra said.

"You two really look alike; are you twins?" Edwina asked.

"No, Nirra is older than me," Ellie said while she looked at her sister.

"By 9 minutes," Nirra added.

Edwina let out a small giggle at Nirra's reply and continued the walk to the edge of the forest. While walking, Edwina couldn't help but look at Nirra. Specifically, the strange weapon she carried along with the strange vials she had that contained some kind of powder.

"Hey Nirra?" Edwina said, tapping Nirra on the shoulder.

"Yes?" Nirra answered.

"What's that strange-looking powder inside the bottles you carry?" She asked.  Nirra thought for a second before answering.

"It's for my weapon." Nirra replied, to which Edwina was a bit confused.

"What does it do?" She asked again.

"It's a secret," Nirra replied with a little smirk.

Edwina didn't dig any deeper on the composition and the uses of the strange powder Nirra carried. She wanted a sample, but she already knew asking for one wouldn't help. Stealing is definitely out of the question. The two saved her life by killing that huge bear.

Once they were outside the forest, the three made it to the dirt path that led to the city and followed it. Once they arrived, Nirra, Ellie, and Edwina went to report the strange encounter they had. The guild assumed that there was something wrong with the northern forests where that bear should have been. So they plan to dispatch three D-rank adventurers to investigate tomorrow morning. After that, they went ahead and turned in their quest to receive their rewards. Edwina went ahead and went home to finish the potion she was making.

"Only six silver coins for that quest...." Ellie groaned as she walked home with Nirra.

"Well, we are just rank E adventurers right now. We'll get to more rewarding quests later," Nirra said.

"I hope so." Ellie replied.
